(adl) phoenix Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 i think im going to cry now.... fixed botyh faults now code 55 yay (all good) ... nope...:censored: she may have fired up but shes running sooooo lumpy its frustrating, my instant though was oh shit i've lost a cylinder... nope all 6 are firing, (unplugged each in turn.) theirs no smoke but its obviously misfiring, tried letting her run for a min or 2 in case id flooded it when tring to start earlier but nope. anyone have any ideas, Quote
Smithy Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 You'll have the codes also because you changed the PTU and teh ECU may see it as a fault. Assuming your temp sensor was cruddy will explain the difficult start and lumpyness. Take it for a drive to burn of the fuel on the plugs or take out the front 4 and clean and see if it improves. Also double check connections are good on PTU and MAF. Smithy Quote
(adl) phoenix Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 thanks, just had a look over the car, and it turns out the misfire is that cylinder 6 isn't... so i'm still confused guess it could be the ptu still isn't right. either that or its the injector coil pack or spark plug? any thing else it could be? vodkashots Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Id start with the area's you just worked on, i had the same problem last year, due to changing the PTU for another, found that i just couldnt get the car started, swapped it back for the one that was on it, it ran but was lumpy as hell and misfired. Take the connectors off the PTU, give um a good clean up and refit. considering you say it was running fine before that, that would be my first port of call, my second would be the maf again. Quote
(adl) phoenix Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 thanks ill do that, before it ran rich, and had an intermittent fault, idle dropped every now and then and ocationally hesitated, but after finding the temp sender was fubar'ed that should have solved the problem, Quote
