I would really appreciate some advice here.

 

Having missed using the Z topless the whole of last summer due to the new baby, I really want to use it as much as possible this year on day trips etc. (assuming no rain of course!).

 

The problem is that the Targas take up approximately 70-80% of the boot floor space, and even for a day trip, I need to take at least the pushchair. I can't leave the targas at home as the weather changes so quickly!

 

The question is:

 

1. Has anyone successfully managed to put both the pushchair and targas in to the boot, without damaging the targas and scratching the paint on the targa?

2. How robust are the targas? Can they take any weight or would that just crack the glass/deform the structure?

 

Any experience/advice would be very welcome.

 

BTW, the seats can't be used for storing anything as there'll be 2 kids in the back.

shurley your targas and a pram will fit in the boot of a lwb zed and do you have the covers for the targas to stop them getting damaged?

use the covers/bags if you have them, failing that bubble wrap 'em, they should take the weight of a pushchair, as had a spare wheel sitting on mine before,

Sorry chaps...more detail below.

 

LWB and the pushchair is the type which when folded, is long and reasonably compact [i hate the off-roader giant ones which are in vogue at the moment].

 

Trying it this morning, a part of the pushchair sits on the edge of the targas. Although I wrapped them in a blanket, my concern was that the pushchair might either damage the paintwork/seals on the targas due to the pressure or damage the glass.

 

I suppose one method is to put everything in the boot and then place the "wrapped" targas on top.

Yep put the targa's on top.....if your parking up you'll be wanting to fit them back on anyway.

 

If you dont have the standard targa bags its worth getting them. You may even be able to use the standard boot straps to secure the pushchair and targas.

Put the targas on top for the very reson you don't want to leave them at home. If the weather changes you don't want to have to unload the boot to get targas out so problem solved !

Having raised 2 kids and now 2 more, yep it all fits.

 

With each targa in it's bag i used to have one outside glass down then the other turned around and outside glass down on top, pram sits on top no probs.

 

I couldn't be arsed getting them to sit ontop of a pram as they would be rattling around all over the gaff, afterall it's only a 10 second job to remove the pram before the targa's!
