1. i think the hardest bit is going to be round a AIV at the rear passanger side of the car, even with the battery out, space is extemely tight because of the loom and the other vacuum pipes around there. I just hope for your sake that all the clips on the water pipes are at such and angle you can get a set of thin nose pliers on, otherwise its going to be out with the stanley blade and ALOT of patience. Best of luck to you mate
2. That fuel rail is a niiiiiiice bit of kit
3. Itll be bloody difficult. You certainly wont be able to get rid of all the pipe work as its bolted to the underneath of the plenum. TBH your making work very diffcult keeping the plenum in
4. The tappet noise is the hydraulic lifters mate. They have small holes in which get easily blocked, hence the tapping. You shouldnt need to use treatments, when you change the oil drain it and keep the old filter on. Top up the oil to the Min mark and the dipstick and run the engine for a few minutes to get it up to temp. Drain again and change the filter for the new one and fill up the oil as per usual. This should pull out the majority of the built up crap from having old oil floating around for some time. Do a search on here for the online workshop manual, and download the PDF file. It has 99% of the stuff you will need to know on how to work on the cars.
5. If your planning on keeping the car, pop down to A.R.E motor factors in Farnham with the calipers. They do an excellent job on full refurbs on calipers, with all new seals and teflon coated pistons and sliders etc. My best mate recently had a set of subaru 4pots done and they did an ace job

Jason also performs all these stunts whilst giving an informative and humorous commentary via a microphone in his helmet. THE IMPS MOTORCYCLE DISPLAY TEAM supported by YAMAHA The IMPS are the display team of the IMPSTART TRUST, a charity dedicated to helping children grow to maturity through adventurous experiences. The team has around forty youngsters aged between five and sixteen years who perform slow and fast intricate formation riding, interspersed with individual and group tricks, pyramids, tableau, car jumps and fire jumps with some comedy included in the programme. They have performed nationally at such prestigious venues as the Royal Tournament and again at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2005 plus many of the major UK shows. International venues include Hamburg, Bermuda, Portugal, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Singapore and the Netherlands. CRUSTY THE CLOWN – Crusty’s Comedy “Ice Cream” Cart Up to 30 minutes slapstick clowning with an “Ice Cream” Cart which is definitely not user-friendly. Watch Crusty try to sever “Ice Cream” in cones which keep getting larger, while the cart objects in every possible way. Bangs, smoke, buckets of water and coloured “ice cream” everywhere, resulting in a gloriously messy routine. JAMES DYLAN’S STUNTWORLD – spectacular action from Britain’s most experienced stunt team James Dylan formed STUNTWORLD in 1972 and since then has gone from strength to strength, resulting in the present format of four motorcycle riders, commentator and stunt co-ordinator. Stuntworld has performed all over the world, including tours of Australia, the USA, Middle East and Far East. James Dylan has appeared on numerous television programmes and videos, including “The World’s Most Amazing Videos”. He was the first person ever to land on the back of a moving motorcycle by parachute. He is also the official Stunt Trainer for EuroDisney and has been selected as Stunt Co-ordinator by main to today’s greatest stuntman. Stuntworld currently holds seven world records – from James Dylan’s “Tunnel of Fire” achieved in 1975 and still stands today – to Alan Burton’s 428ft “Fire Run” on 28th December 2003. Stuntworld’s professionalism is second to none and their ability to mingle spectacular stunts with the right amount of comedy, makes the show fantastic entertainment for all age groups. MOTO-STUNTS INTERNATIONAL Originally formed in 1979 by Tony Baily, they have performed throughout the UK and Europe. The show, everchanging and advancing, uses his vast experience and expertise and has taken part in many British World Record & TV appearances. This unique jeep/motorcycle display team creates a great visual impact. With its large arena display, its impeccably turned out team members and vehicles, consisting of 5-6 Suzuki Jeeps and 8 motorcycles, all signwritten in team colours, they make a striking sight. The programme consists of motorcycle wheelies, speed crossovers in breathtaking formation driven by both bikes and jeeps. A wheelie jeep, Endo and rollover jeep, different ways to ride a bike and two wheel driving – not on a bike! Sensational jumps by motorcycles over jeeps, some off a moving ramp, combine to make this a very exciting display (show may vary depending on weather conditions). A thrilling fire jump forms the grand finale of the show and an accomplished commentary done by a team member while taking part in the stunts, compliments this exhilarating 30min+ show and gives the display a very professional finish. CLOWN PADDYWACK AND HIS VETERAN COMEDY CAR This highly skilled and expertly timed presentation is an action-packed routine of hilarious situations and exciting feats with a 1931 Morris car. The original “thrill-packed spectacle on wheels”, this act will delight all who like an exploding car with lots of pyrotechnics. A lady ringmaster provides the commentary throughout and attempts to create order out of chaos. A winning combination of comic capers, slapstick stunts, fantastic feats and whacky witticisms – traditional comedy and clowning at its best from one of the most experienced comedy double acts on the professional outdoor circuit today. Featured on TV in “The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna” and “The Freddie Starr Show”, Paddywack’s Comedy Car guarantees to keep ALL the family thoroughly entertained from start to finish. HAUREL AND LARDY – the world’s best loved tribute act Jem Frazer and Graeme Hardy are Haurel and Lardy. Together they are a fitting tribute to the original comedy kings, Laurel and Hardy, the boys offer far more than the usual mix, mingle, meet and greet so often associated with look-a-likes and tribute acts. They are both accomplished close-up magicians and always bring that special brand of humour to any event or function. With a vast array of props and costumes, the centrepiece of which is their original 1920’s Model T Ford motor car, identical to the one used by Laurel and Hardy. UTTERLY BUTTERLY WINGWALKING DISPLAY TEAM The Utterly Butterlys offer entertainment and visually exciting displays to delight the whole family. Slicing through the sky up to 150mph the deliciously daring wingwalkers wave from the top wing of their Boeing Stearman biplanes during a mouth-watering sequence of loops, rolls and rollercoaster flypasts. They perform over 100 displays each season and the team has a collective experience of over 5000 displays. The Utterly Butterlys have displayed throughout the UK and in France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Portugal, Italy, Spain, United Arab Emirates and China. The Royal Artillery Parachute Team The Black Knights Parachute Team is one of the premier teams in the country. The team consists of 6 soldiers from different Regiments of the Royal Artillery and is renowned for their breath taking displays. The team will leave you in awe as 4 to10 of them fall away from the aircraft at anything up to 12000ft reaching speeds of up to 130mph, streaming colored smoke behind them before deploying their parachutes at 3000ft. They will perform a whole range of “air-o-batic” stunts and canopy formations before gliding into the arena with pinpoint accuracy. Guaranteed to draw the crowds, and a pleasure to drop in. AUGUST 24 - 25 BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND Get your names down :D Nick
7. No worries mate. A big big big must is to clay bar your car first. Megs do a kit for about £15 quid, and theres a few good vids on you tube. It makes life sooooooo much easier when trying to get out defects. I found prior to claying the car, all the ingrained crap that you cant see (brake dust on the rear edges on the wings) would "hold on" to the polish and make for hard work when taking the polish off. Honestly mate its an absolute MUST! Some people seem scared to use clay, but it really is a piece of piss.Heres one of the better vids It does take time, and my paint was aweful (as below which is a before and after of my bonnet). The best way i found was to split the panels up into sections, eg, the bonnet into quarters and doors into 3 top to bottom sections, and keep working it till your happy. Another good thing is the polish in the 3 stage system, has quite a high amount of silicon fillers in it, which masks the defects as opposed to removing them, and is generally alot safer on older paint. If you struggle to wipe the polish off without leaving streaks, spray a touch of quick detailer that you get in the clay kit, and itll give a streak free finish. Oh and stay well well away from that horrid cotton cloth stuff that halfrauds sell (or any other place) that you cut off a roll. It tends to leave a dust layer on the car, which if is rubbed on hard enough with leave scratches in your paint and ruining your hard work. Some of the best bits of kit i bought were the Water magnet cloth (similar to a chammy but much nicer to use) a couple of microfibre cloths and a proper deep pile terry cloth. Good Luck
8. The Megs paint cleaner is fine with an orbital polisher. Its no where near as aggressive as cutting compounds for orbitals only. Youll get the best results with the paint cleaner if you use a relatively slow speed, and make sure you work in the cleaner until the polish goes translucent, and then wipe off straight away. Same with the polish. Check out my rides and youll see what the results are like HTH :D
9. I heard that the main "theme" of the show is eco friendly cars. I found the same problem last year. Not enough exotica
10. sounds like a HUUUGE vacuum leak. Have you done a boost leak test yet? Hows the compression?
11. so whats your plan for it then?
12. my biting point is the same, about 1 inch off the floor. Ill race you to find out whats causing it!
13. Im fairly certain that is NOT GhostRider, thats too much of an amature mistake
14. Smithy, would it make ay difference that the clutch rod into the master cyl was adjusted BEFORE it was bled? I dont know why they did it, but the garage adjusted the pedal before bleeding. Cheers
15. cool. Just got to sort my boost leak out now :(
16. Has anyone local to me got a boost leak detector? Now the car is drivable, ive now plumbed in the HKS BOV's mounted on the boost pipes, ive noticed that im running 0.2 Bar less boost than i used to (used to run stock at 0.85, now runs 0.65) Cheers Nick
17. Right, Ive adjusted all the rods on the clutch pedal, and the rod going into the cylinder is now at full extension, and the biting point is now about an inch off the floor. Im still not happy its right, but at least the car is drivable. Is there any reason why the biting point is so low down the pedals travel??
18. So the plan of action so far is, re adjust the pedal back from its extreme setting, and try adjusting the threads on the switches. Ill probably use the sz guide that dave put up as it seems quite comprehensive and its not something ive ever had to adjust before. Just out of interest, I dont have cruise control, will i still have the threaded adjustments where the switches are supposed to be? Mark, ill try the main adjustment rod first, if that dont work, then ill try the adjustment on the switches as well. Cheers for all your help and advice over the phone :D :duffer:
19. deffo eases up when the engine is turned on. If you put the pedal to the floor with the engine off, then turn the engine on, i can feel the servo assist kick in and the pedal gets a fair bit lighter. Makes no difference if i pump the pedal jimmer, im fairly confident its got no air left in the system. Dave i think youve probably sourced the problem. Ill give it a whizz and let you know
20. I personally havent touched the clutch pedal adjustment (the garage have), but the pedal has a consistant feel and springs back as per normal, but the biting point is literally in the shagpile and even when the pedal is fully depressed, in first gear the clutch is still gripping the flywheel and moving the car forward
21. Guys, I know ive spoken to a few already about this, but im still not sure. The kit that has been fitted is: RPS Street Max clutch Z1 Flywheel New release bearing, uprated pivot ball and pilot bushing Stainless Steel braided clutch line Work that has been done so far by the garage: All the bits fitted, Clutch system bled for a good 3 hours The adjustment on the clutch pedal box has been "pushed in" to its furthest point. The symptoms are: Heavier than usual clutch pedal (espec for the RPS) with No spongeyness Very difficult to get into gear When i do get it into gear, the biting point is virtually in the carpet. Slave cylinder is NOT leaking externally SO, whats causing the biting point to be so down the pedal travel and the clutch to be heavier than what i remember for an RPS clutch? over to you
22. jeeeeeeesus, nicely done! :duffer: to you mate :D

That what i was trying to achive with having several start points with the North 2 South run, but point taken :D Yeah, thats a good idea, cheers. TBH i dont know the area too well, especially the bigger towns/citys like So'ton and P'mouth, hence why i tried with the venue recommendation thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=113424, but it hasnt had much input so far Im not the sort of person who takes constructive criticism badly, any help that people want to offer with suggestions for meets, venues etc ill take with a beaming smile. All i want is to be able to offer good meets for people to enjoy :D
