i was just reading about another zed engine that has gone bang and it got me thinking about engine conversions..... Why hasnt any put an RB26 motor into a zed yet??? its nissans most bullet proof, and probably most tuneable engine, so surely its got to be favourate for a transplant into a zed. I know that its set up for a 4WD transmission, but there are a fair few GTR's that have been RWD converted? If anyone knows of anyone who has done/tried it, or of any reason why it cant be done feel free to enlighten me cheers in advance Nick

the agreement still stands. Even though we know that they make more power than 276bhp, they agreed never to "claim" a figure over 276bhp to stop any power war, like ze germanz are having at the moment. anyway if i would have changed anything on the design it would have been the tweed interior, the pants headlights, the foam spoiler and the silly idea of putting an auto box into a sports car (ooooooooooh contraversial) :)

does it pull strongly up to 125mph then hit a "wall" or does it struggle to get to that speed?

the current skyline is a G35, which is uses the same renault lump from the 350z. Im not sure what the next GTR's chassis name is going to be as its no longer going to be a skyline........ time will tell

dont know if this has been pointed out before but theres a dark blue zed in kill bill vol 1 as well

not too fussed about having it rear facing, it will show the nipper how much faster daddy's zed is compared to the flash tw@t's scooby is from across the road!!! :D i think ive nicely satisfied that criteria for the time being. The missus loved the old zed ,just hated the bills from when it blew up all the time. So that makes the scores on practicallity ZED: 1 - EVO: 0, :bow: Ill ive got to do now is worm my way around the reliability issue! :(

its great isnt it. TBH there were two reasons why i put this thread up, Firstly was just to let everyone know that he had made his gratatude known to us through the media. he didnt have to do that, but it shows the type of bloke kenny is secondly was to show the members of the forum who joined after the accident what this club is about and how close we all can be when something bad happens to one of us. Like santa said, this club does have almost a family like character, we all take part in the banter, and sometimes there a big rows, but when the worst things happen we all pull together like a family and support our members in any way we can, whether it be financial physical or emotional. I feel very proud to be a part of this club, and i think everyone should. Its almost a shame that it seems to be a very negative situation that shows the true colours, and what very bright colours they are, of the members Is there any Mod who would be able to find the original thread of when the accident happened, the search tool will only enable me to search a 12 month period and i think it would be nice to show the newer members what the club is capable off Nick

ill probably end up doing the same thing, like is said am in no rush to get one, but if the right one comes along then ill probably have it, no matter how far away it is

There was a black swb for sale on here back in december i think, which was stunning and went for the right sort of money. but theres nothing worth looking at on either the trader ebay or pistonheads....... im in no massive rush, just want to get a peach

read my mind there andy. its most likely electrical problem on the cat sensors. obviously getting rid of the cats removes the problem. Wouldnt be anything like a coil missing a beat, you'd feel the miss fire. dont forget the cats are probably on their last legs anyway, they are about 15 years old dont forget! but as andy said, could be well worth checking your earths, you may figure out some of the other "characteristics" the zed has i down to bad earthing nick

just get rid of the cats mate, that solves the probelm buy removing the problem. bring on the noise! nick

cheeky sod, glad to be back mate. As i mentioned earlier, im looking at an evo as well as a zed, so i joined to MLR to do some research on them. OMG what a bunch of self righteous to55ers, makes me realise how much of a quality forum this is!

depends on how much of a saving your making compared to the UK market. Youll get stung with things like import duty etc. There are some ways of getting around this, but there is still a chance of getting caught out and having to pay the duty. If your going to do it, the best way is to select a all the things you want, and then have the seler to mark the package as "not for retail, test products contained within". I think there is some policy that it the goods arent going to be sold and there for RandD purposes you dont get stunk for the import duty, which should save you a bit of money. With regards to actual companies that ship to the uk, sorry mate cant help you there as ive never imported stuff from the states, only Jap land hope this helps nick

Ive just picked up the latest copy of japanese performance (march 07) and have read my way through to the Letters section, and i found this: "Valuable support, I feel i must write to you and tell you abouth the amazing support i recieved from two car clubs that i belong to, The SXOC and 300zx.co.uk . Last year i lost my wife in an horrific car accident on the A303, just outside salisbury, and in the months following, i recieved many hundreds of emails and support from members and non members from both clubs. This was followed up by a gift of 2000 pounds, which enabled me to cover the costs of my wife funeral and also put some in a trust fund for my kids. I managed to get to JAE and took my 9 year old daughter along. She thoroughly enjoyed the scene, despite having lost her mum.She even won me a TOYO tyres t shirt. We all hope to be at JAE 07. My son, who is five, is really looking forward to the weekend, and i am looking forward to bringing my 91 300zx which has been breathed on by Zen. My son is an avid picture reader of your magazine and is developing his enthusiasm for jap cars, like his dad. Thanks once again to both clubs, its what these people have done for me and tmine, and that restores my faith in humanity and shows what decent people are all about Ken Hodgson (or as we know him Kenny Z) Man i remeber what kenny put the post up about the crash, and how completely devastated i was, and id only ever met him once! I thought id put this up for the peeps who dont buy the magazines, and in case kenny hadnt been on here recently. I know kenny probably put something along the same lines on here, but if he didnt i thought id put this up for people to read, and especially for the people who contributed to kennyz famaily.
