  1. after having the zed only 10 month of having my zed, the last 5 months have taken its toll on me. After putting up with everything from blown pipes and radiators to warped heads and gaskets and blown big end bearings the last straw has reared its ugly head after a gentle drive to guildford i was sitting in traffic, as a big lorry went passed, i saw a small plume of blue smoke. at first i thought othing of it, but after looking down at my oil pressure gauge it was reading exceptionally low for my car. i pulled over to layby only a few hundred yards down the road, stuck my head out of the window and gave the engine 3/4 revs only to about 4.5k after the 2 rev that blue smoke that i thought was the passing lorrie was actually from my zed, after only a few more revs lo and behold i had a small cloud all to my self of the dreadded blue smoke. after forking out over 6 grand in 10 month, thats it ive had enough. and in all honesty ill never have another. this car has let me down to many times and i just dont trust the dam thing or any other of its kind. as soon as i have finished writing this thread im of to the autotrader sight to by myslef a she of sum variety, probably a diesel, no i aint that miffed, but something that i can rely on on getting me from a 2 b no questions asked. i will probably still come on the site occationally, and all the mates i have made thanks to this forum i will still keep in touch with. its been grand chaps and chappettes, and i hope none of you suffer the heartbreak and misfortune this car has brought me  No where do they hide the skylines in the trader?????? CheerZ Nick
  2. i totally agree mark, BUT and its a big but, when the car is your daily driver and you cover around 300 miles a week, and you hate trains as much as i do, it multiplys your stress levels ten fold but i still love her..... just
  3. Heyt guys, after takin off and putting back on my boost pipes many times, they have given up the ghost and formed mahoooosive splits in them, so i though time to upgrade to a set of mice hard pipes. At the moment Smithy's pipes are looking like the most popualr and cost effective option, but as i do with most things, i look to have a good look at all my options before i set my mind on any certain set. the only other make that i have managed to find at the moment is the HKS intercooler piping kit at £323 inc vat, which is £100 more than smith's pipes, and in all honesty i cant see them being £100 better in any way ( doing a BMW and relying on the name HKS to bring in the sales!) Apart from having them custom built, which i have already discovered can cost a small fortune and take fapping ages, who does a kit for the mighty zed. Blitz dont list them and i cant find any listings for the zed with Greddy/Trust, JUN or anyone else to be honest And yet i find it hard to beleive that none of these companys do them for the zed! So basically, does any know of other manufacturers that do them, and what has every one got on there motors??? Cheers chaps and chappettes Nick
  4. steve: the rads been top mate, even better now its not got air con in the way!!! Zmaster: cheers mate, and very true about the lack of corrosion! well thank god no ones said my turbos got a knackered seal or anything because that would just be the end of things. now all ive got to do is get some hard pipes to get rid of my split boost pipes, change the plenum gasket and find out why im getting a VERY loud blow from my exhaust manifold!!!
  5. mate when youve had such a frustrating time with your zed over the last 5 months that ive had ie blown head gaskets twice, completely warped heads, blown big ends, no compression, knackered injectors, 2 sets of tyres and various knackered oil seals, you begin to wonder, why do i still have the cursed thing!
  6. as i was fettling in with the zed, as you do, i happened to be lying down at the front end of the zed. As i looked into the front vent of the bumber i noticed oil on the underside of my apexi BOVs and a little puddle on the undertray!!!!! WTF!!!!! i tell you what if this is a sign of of one of my turbo's on the way out, im taking the zed to an abandoned car park and burning the bloody thing!!! hopefully some one will tell me i'm over reacting and its only an easily replaceable seal or something any ideas cheers, Nick
  7. I have to say my old wheels do look good on your motor. Nice one.
  8. Not going to be able to make it now. After putting the engine back together. After doing a compression text found only 40 psi in all but one cylinder. I'm reseating the valves as we speak but it won't be back together and running till sunday afternoon. Arse. Have been looking forward to this meet for weeks. Saying that i have managed to sort a few other niggleing issues whilst its been apart, including removale of the air con, egr, stopping that annoying rattle from the exhaust and on more rattling injectors either. Fan fapping tastic!
  9. Arse. Really wanted to in to this, why did i have to go and buy a house! When is it again, if i manage to find last minute funding i'll get a ferry myself. If not i hope you all have a top time and feel better knowing that i an exceedingly jealous! Nick.

  14. Yeah i know its a touch on the annoying side. But i'm going to go over the engine with a fine tooth comb see if i can find any potential problems. Have you seen the blue z in the trader in farnborough?

  20. Oh and down pipes and decats and god it sounds good, when the dam thing works
  21. Well mine's a 94 j spec tt manual. Its running castrol rs oil. Its got 58k on the clock. Its cooked the bearings due to a blown headgasket. No major mod's running 1 bar boost with typical mod's, induction, exhaust and chip
  22. I think i'll have to asses the damage when i strip the engine down and i'll take it from their. I've spent 5.5k since august and i'm gettin a tad annoyed with the spending.
  23. What if i've knackered the journals on the crank case, i've heard thats pretty much as terminal as it gets? And is it likely that i'm damaged them?
  24. You know what mate, thats exactly what i needed to hear! I love the car more than any car i've ever owned, i can't believe i even bought the trader today! Omg what was i thinking. Cheers mate. Nick
  25. Anyone? I'm prepareing for the worst but can any one give me an idea what that might be. Please lads i need to figure out if i can keep the car.
