  1. who did the work on the waterpump?
  2. contact your council and they will have a list to which areas have IAM schools
  3. then it will have a grass verge at the very least, with enough room to get a vehicle out of the carrigeway enough so it doesnt cause an obstruction
  4. Marc, i have to agree with you on the majority of somepoints you made and disagree with some. Firstly as most of you know im a serving police officer, and dealing with major accidents is something i do on a daily basis, so im probably talking from the most experienced point of view. With regards to the driver of the fiesta, your right there is no reason why she couldnt have made it to the hard shoulder. On a national speed limit road, she would have been able to coast to the hard shoulder. The only possible "reasonable" explanation for being in lane 2 is that she herself had been involved in a collision herself resulting in her car being disabled in lane 2. As this hasnt been previously mentioned im going to guess there is no evidence to support this explanation. If she had simpley broken down there is NO reason why she could not have coasted to the hard shoulder, and the likelyhood the investigating officer will take this point of view as well i would suggest is very strong. I would probably suggest the fact she was parked in lane 2, regardless of hazard lights being on, is the major contributor to the cause of the collision. With regard to the Saab driver, i think better observation was required, even coming round a slight corner on a brow of a hill, i cant see any reason why at a substantial distance he wasnt able to establish that there was a car broken down in his lane, or at least suspect that there was a car in the carridgeway. I think the above point carrys over to marc. Personally if i saw a car with hazards on in the distance and im not 100% sure its on the hard shoulder, i would adjust my speed accordingly. BUT im and trained advanced police driver, so i probably drive alot differently to alot of you. The part i disagree with the most is the "there was nothing i could do". Now think logically about this, there was plenty that you could do. The basis of roadcraft is that you drive on the information you recieve and act accordingly. Dont get me wrong mate im not trying to put you down or criticise your driving or anything like that, im just trying to bring another angle to the conversation and give an insight to what the police will be thinking. im glad your ok and so is everyone, and at the end of the day i wasnt there and neither was anyone else on here, so im only commenting on the info i have, but only you and everyone else who was involved know what happened. Anyway all the best mate and if their is anything you want to ask me feel free nick
  5. cheers chaps for your help i left the computer on last night and run simultaneuos full system scans with the AVG and ad-aware. came back to it this morning and found that the AVG had picked up 1 trojan virus and with ad aware had picked up 247 critical programs!!!!! obviously removed them and all seems ok now cheers again nick
  6. Chaps and Chappettes Booted up the computer this evening as i couldnt sleep and the computer came up with a couple of critical system errors. First of all was a dreaded trojan virus (dont worry mods i wasnt online when i found out) Ive got both AD-AWARE Se and AVG on the computer and ive done complete scans with both, and removed all of the threats to the computer. Ive rebooted the computer and its still coming up with a non critical system error stating that there are still spyware programs effecting my computer. i cant think of anything else i could try to do to get rid of them PLEASE HELP cheers peeps nick
  7. he's lucky that he didnt have a passenger in the car!
  8. if he doesnt ring you let me know and ill speak to him. have you got a name of the customer or something so he knows who your on about
  9. ive texted ryan for you for him to get in touch with you nick
  10. i did it, and the difference in the sound the car made was immense!, it was not to much loader, but the change in tone of the exhaust was pheonominal. The performance difference was instantly noticeable, although i put new downpipes on as well, especially after i wound up the boost to 14.5psi. On 85k turbo's id be warey in all honesty, like has previously been stated, the cats will mask any seal probs you have. Id personally start saving up for new tubs as soon as you put them on, then when they do go it wont be a massive shock.
  11. chris how can you tell the difference from when your PVC's are knackered and when the rear seals on the tubs have gone? Is it a different colour smoke, or just a process of elimination? cheers bud nick
  12. candy man, possibly the worst film i have ever seen, even worse than knightrider 2000
  13. yeah its just an estate version on the IX MR FQ 330
  14. mike where did you find that poster from? just read this and it kinda contradicts the poster http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30145
  15. i think ill give myself a pat on the back for that one :xxx:
  16. mmmmmmmmm koenigsegg ccx, no "top gear wing" tho. I can see it on top gear now: "some say he wears leather pants keep his wang in check, some say his hair generates enough static electricity to power all of germany, all we know is that he's called the HOFF"
  17. saw this on the MLR, i have to say i like it, its sits right if you know what i mean, like the audi RS4 does
  18. do it mate, and if you do let me know ill come over to spain and show you how to ride!
  19. ive heard alan mcnish has had a dabble at being the stig, as has ivan muller
  20. buying a zed hopefully, i so ill meet you lot where ever you go if im not working nick
  21. i got mine from ryan, but cant remember how much. I think im right in remembering that one from nissan is about 85 quid, and it was cheaper than that
  22. like andy said, its pretty easy just time consuming, as long as youve got plenty of spare time its a fairly common sense job
  23. i can tell by this your zed hasnt gone bang yet, because i can tell you a VG30 is far from cheap to rebuild. I would say it was so far away from cheap it was as far as a far thing from farthington in farshire in a galaxy far far away (and breathe). I will be the first to admit that i know sweet FA about RB lumps, but i deffinatly know VG's and how much of a royal pain in the backside they are to work on. The majority of peeps on here know how many times i had the engine out of my zed, so i know im talking from experience! Like ive said previously, i love the VG and will praise it to the hills, BUT the RB recieved alot more development from nissan, nevermind the tuners, than the VG ever did. The RB is by no means a spring chicken and yet nissan used it until the very last of the R34's. If the VG30, and specifically the VG30 and none of the other varients, was such a good lump, why was it not used for longer in other nissan models??
  24. in that whole schpiel the only thing i could find that was truely relevant to the thread was that! :mac1: No offence or anything, or maybe im just tired after finishing another truely ridiculous shift, but your point of all that was?????????? :nelson: At no point was i "writing off the VG30", it was simpely a case of "how come no one has tried it yet?" People have tuned up VG30's and swapped them for V8's but i couldnt understand why the RB26 had been tried. Admittedly i was only going on the apparent "rep" of the RB, which i have obviously been corrected on, but like you said, it would be something different at least
