Drifting - advanced driving in an auto
sounds like it will probs be based on roadcraft, well thats how it reads anyway. Youll enjoy it, but its bloody hard work. Kust to give you a small comparison, your course is 2 and a half days long, police advanced driving is a month long.

Drifting - advanced driving in an auto
if your doing an advanced driving course, im guessing it will be a advanced ROAD driving as apposed to advanced TRACK driving. If its road based, the whole course is based on something called ROADCRAFT. Its a very good course, and its what the police base their whole driving on. If you have any questions about advanced road driving, feel free to ask me as im a police advanced driver. Oh and in answer to your question, power sliding is one technique of drifting an wont damage your box, all it is, is the force being put through the tires is overpowering the grip available from the road surface. On your course you wont be learning how to drift im afriad, it will be how to control a "skid". like is said if youve got anything you want to ask about advanced driving feel free to ask mate, that goes for everyone as well :) nick

England..how shyte are they?
i know its already been said, but i think its one of the most valid points going when it comes to team selection.. WTF does he play Stevie on the right and reLAMPtARD in the middle. Lamps is probably one of the most over-rated players in the premiership never mind the england squad! If it came down to consistancy, quality of service, creativeness on the ball and shear danger factor infront of goal, GERRARD WOULD WIN EVERY TIME!! im not just saying that because im a liverpool fan, its because its true. Same goes with Carragher, should be in the 1st team everytime, only thing stopping him from being the best defender in the country is that terry is better going forward. Why play Lennon out of position as well, he's a right sided player! And dont even get me started about the either of the neville brothers!!!

WTF will people think of next!!!!! hows the evo bud?

Ouch! - bikers need to watch
i would say that was the best result in terms of the crash, he's low sided it a relatively low speed, and if you look closely he's just missed a lamp post just as he goes off the road. I quick beep on the horn will have prevented that on the bikers part, but equally the driver probably didnt know that he had a bike behind him and didnt check his n/s mirror. Joys of being a biker............................................................ you ride like everyones out to kill you, and you generally stay alive!

very spooky but very clever
dont know if this is a repost, but its kinda cool and kinda spooky at the same time, try it, even the most sceptical of you will agree its well thought out. The Secret behind the number 11 Pretty Chilling - read to the bottom. *Try it out. * If you are a sceptical person - still read on as it's actually very interesting!! This is actually really freaky!! (Mainly the end part, but read it all first) 1) New York City has 11 letters 2) Afghanistan has 11 letters. 3) Ramsin Yuseb has 11 letters. (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) 4) George W Bush has 11 letters. * * * This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets interesting: 1) New York is the 11th state. 2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11. 3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11 4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6 + 5 = 11 5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 =11 6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. Sheer coincidence..? Read on and make up your own mind: 1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. * 2 + 5 + 4 = 11 2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. * 3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11. 4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident. Now this is where things get totally eerie: * * The most recognized symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Koran, the Islamic holy book: "For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace." * That verse is number 9.11 of the Koran. Unconvinced about all of this still ..? * * Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end: * Open Microsoft Word and do the following: 1. Type in upper case Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers. 2. Highlight the Q33 NY. 3. Change the font size to 48. 4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS…………………… * * What do you think now????* Nick

you should try it on a motor bike, i went passed one at the end of my road sitting at 45mph, nothing....nothing.... nothing..... and when i was virtually on top of it i was doing 78 mph?

Just got a ticket
Well youve had a unique experience their chap, because the police only hvae the power to charge for certain offences without CPS. These offences are ones such as shoplifting under the value of 200 quid, criminal damage under 500quid, minor public order offences and other such 'minor crimes' In some respects i can see where your coming from. The home office would like it to appear that the police and CPS work as one, but behind the scenes its very much a different scenario. Secondly with regard to 'minor' (not including dangerous driving and alike) traffic offences, unfortunatly the're called ABSOLUTE OFFENCES wich means that there is no statutory defence for these offences, unfortunatly mate we dont make the law, we enforce it, and whether you or i like it or not, thats our job. In which case you will also find that the defence barrister is allowed to do the same thing, not sure what your point is there mate I will agree with you there, but once again, those letters are set out by the Home office for that exact reason, and like you i tottaly disagree with them, but unfortunatly there is nothin we can do about it, the fact that these letters are headed with the local constabularys logo on doesnt help the police public image. Like i said, couldnt agree more with you on that point Once again i agree, but we dont make the rules. And ill also agree that there are some complete idiots in this job who make life extremely hard work for those trying to give a positive image to the public and do things how they should be done. It just seems bad word travels faster than praise, a fact of life we all have to put up with. I for one am sorry to hear that, and reinforces that face that the politicians, sorry police officers, that run the constabularys need to re think some of there current bully boy tactics that make life as a bobby on the street trying to make a difference VERY DIFFICULT You have raised alot of points that i agree with and some i dont. The thing is, and with no disrespect intended, the public dont get to see the whole picture of how the criminal justice system works, while as a police officer i do, and youll find that 99% of street level officers feel the same as i do. I also understand that i will always get stick about what i do, BUT im going to stick up for what i work hard for. It is just unfortunate that i/we feel let down by our apparent leaders who seem to be nothing but politicians with no back bone. Prime example "hug a hoodie". point made in short, touschay rant returned! :nelson: :mac1:

New car tax bands from chairman brown
yeah thats what i remmber it saying. Im just very aware about how anal the government can be when it comes to wording of their new policies. As long as it runs by the year of the car like you said, then im happy cheers bud nick

Just got a ticket
tbh i dont know how it works, but it needs an certain amount of time to "lock on" to a vehicle before it can continue to calculate its speed when line of sight is lost. very complicated stuff i can tell you that
-
Just got a ticket
yes they do mate, and its the only up to date bit of kit we have that actually works
-
Just got a ticket
nice bit of small mindedness their chap! And as for the CPS being the mouth piece of the police, you seriously need to get your facts straight before saying such utter *****cks! Ill be the first to say im not a fan of some of the work that traffic police have to do, BUT they have to work with some of the most outdated bits of kit on the market and have to make do with it. We (the police) dont decided who gets charged for what, CPS DECIDE EVERYTHING! and dont even get me started on magistrates, in fact dont get me started on ANY of the criminal justice system, i have to put up with them everyday. Why do you think the prisons are full of some many 'lifers'? Because when the police decided who to charge, because when we had the evidence to say someone raped someones child, we put it infront of a court for them to decide, THATS WHAT THERE FOR. Now i have to go and present the evidence to some jumped up, pen pushing, statistic obsessed civi who decides whether we charge or not based LIKELYHOOD OF SUCCESSFULL PROSECUTION, rather than the merits of the evidence available. The fact is we get incorrectly trained to use out of date equipment and are expected to pass our results onto a CPSite in an office far far away. and before anyone bring up the old "it pains me to see POLICE on my council tax bill", do you really think that goes anywhere street level police. GET REAL IT GOES IN A POLITICIANS BACK POCKET. rant temporarily over  P.S if you know you werent speeding, fight the ticket all the way bud. if you were, just bite the bullet, its not exactly the biggest crime in the world PC nick

Best ways to import a zed
how do the costs balance out between buying a car already in the uk and importing one inc all costs involved?

Best ways to import a zed
Oh something i forgot to add :headvswal The reason ive said "exculding the traders" is because im going to guess that they have contacts and sources in the importing industry. This is something that I dont have and would like to know peoples experiences without these contacts. But any input from the traders is more than welcome! :D

Best ways to import a zed
Chaps and Chapettes As some will know im looking for another zed. Looking at the market there dont seem to be that many that match the criteria that ive set myself. Im not in a huge rush to get one, i just want to be as sensible as possible and find the illusive "right one" Im going to guess that a few peeps, exculding the traders, have found a car in jap land and imported it themself, loosely speaking. TBH i know sweet F A about what is involved in importing a car and the overall costs are, and was hoping someone would be able to give me an quick education in what is involved in importing a car, from the auction room to my arse being in the drivers seat. Also for the peeps who have imported a car, which companies would you recommend ie shipping companies/"importers" and auction houses. Advice and opinions all welcome cheerZ Nick

I think i've had enough
ill agree with alot of what has been said. I wish i'd never sold my zed and just kept it in storeage until i could have afforded to fix it, and never sold it. I suppose you could always say that you could get another one, but when youve put so much time into the one youve already got, the next one wont feel "the same" until youve hadto put the same amount of work into it. Without that work you will never be able to happily say, thats my car and i know every wingley qerk and obscurity that it has all the best what ever you decide, but id keep it!

Another ebay Gem.
This is getting more and more common on ebay, virtually any car you search for, there are about 2 fake ads for every 10 cars listed They really should be doing something about this!
