  1. I'm going as a guest should be fun as don't often get the chance to run around Castle Coombe with their normal low noise limits. Just gotta hope car back in time now as paid for it already lol.
  2. As Pete says :) I'm not convinced one is better than the other TBH but the FMIC on the 2+2 is too low for my liking and I'm pretty happy with the slicktop setup so that's my preference. Ever since Dan built the new engine I've never had any cooling issues so I'm happy that it's all about getting the balance right.
  3. I've gotta an as new FMIC coming out of my 2+2 soon. Don't like it as too low so I'll do a swap :)
  4. I don't often comment but I did on that occasion as it looked like a few people needed a reality check. To be honest most of the things that were said seemed more naive than bigotted so I wouldn't get too excited about it. Not sure you can particularly blame the mods because if they had closed the thread and then removed it, someone somewhere would have been banging on about freedom of speech and asking 'why the heavy hand of moderation?'

  6. Our posts crossed there Pete :) yes it's still CJ's old engine. It has been rebuilt since then but once we got the niggles sorted it's performed pretty well. I will probably go for the 200 mph next year depends on how the rebuild goes but I want to do it from a standing start and in one kilometre lol. And i still want to be road legal so not making it easy for myself. Let's get this years totb out of the way see how we go and then I intend to set achieveable targets for next year including the top speed run :)
  7. I did buy it for spares but as you rightly say it's a decent car and will not be broken. Pete will be getting it shortly so he can work some of his magic and then it'll go back down to Dans to sort the mechanics out. With a bit of mix and match from the slicktop and some attention to detail it'll make a very nice road car. Anyway, back to ten of the best. I must say that totb have really pulled out all the stops this is going to be a mega event with some very serious competition. Let's be honest, it's probably the best event ever for the modified car performance wise and you will see some crazy cars. Don't miss it!!!
  8. I booked this ages ago but they changed the date. I think you get one or two runs round a track and the fastest wins the vbox lite. I won't be going now as will be knackered after totb but I think there are still plenty of places. http://www.videovbox.co.uk/index.php/en/news/215-video-vbox-open-day.html
  9. It certainly was and I've had to put my other box in. I've banned Dan from flat shifting with it :)
  10. Here's a little video of what ten of the best is all about. At around 4.15 a pic showing the crowds and the buzz can see me and Pete (and of course the zed) waiting to run. Sunday is the main event and I'll be aiming to do well. I've had a few little niggles with the car recently (if killing the gearbox counts as a niggle) but keeping fingers crossed the car will run OK for the weekend. Practice saturday but won't be doing a lot TBH just setting it up ready for the main event. This has gotta be better than a show and shine surely guys  http://roadmagazine.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/video-ten-of-best-2012-countdown.html
  11. Well here's mine in the wet just gotta adjust your driving style a bit :)
  12. Ideal offsets are front 22 and rear 35. So the fronts will be fine but set back but the rears may well sit out a bit and if lowered will need arches rolled
  13. Check out some of these runs. Listen to the Russian Evo 3 and there are some serious motors being set up. There's a few zeds including mine :) I defy anyone not to enjoy the sound of the evo http://www.facebook.com/advancedmotorsportengineering#!/advancedmotorsportengineering/videos
  14. It's the Twinz bumper including diffuser. It's not a great pic looks better in the flesh.
  15. Good one Pete be back on the road where it belongs. Look forward to being taken for a spin by you for a change :-)

  17. I went and watched a lot of the practice couldn't stay for the proper racing. I saw a lot of fast cars (and some slow ones). Had a chat with Simon great bloke who's enjoying his racing. Seemed like a decent bunch of guys. I'm definitely thinking about taking part if not this year then next :) Looking forward to meeting Simon again and hopefully competing alongside him sometime soon :)
  18. Don't mind at all :) Actually you will know this answer no doubt :) what offset for both 10" and 10.5" on the rear? And what could I get away with on the fronts without cutting out arch liners etc? I'm thinking possibly 9" on the front.
  19. Thanks for the comments guys. I really doubt we'll get much more out of the car it's simply not set up for the quarter mile. Got tein monoflex on very heavy spring and very little movement at the rear so doesn't squat at all. Not only that when I try to change gear faster it just pops out lol. I'm satisfied with the times and while the next step for the car will involve weight reduction it will also mean some aero mods which won't help with the quarter. I seem to be hitting low twelves generally and I'd be happy with that at TOTB. I haven't worried about reaction times as it doesn't matter for me currently I'm not really fussed about going head to head on the quarter. See you all at TOTB :)
  20. Bring it to me over the weekend I'll drop it off at Dan's on Wednesday morning and he might be able to get it done. Of course I would have to ask him if he can fit it in first but he's your best chance James.
  21. Just get it ready for ten of the best mate help me show them how to party lol
  22. bit late for that you just missed cadwell lol
  23. Good luck James and keep Pete on his toes :)
