Predictable Mitsubishi garage quote...made me laugh
Maybe it (the Grandis) heard me muttering under my breath last night, making reference to scrapping it's stupid ass', but ever since then the 'problem' seems to have vanished without a trace? There's no warning light, no sluggishness and she starts up and drives as well as ever.....very confused??????

zed on ebay at £23k
What would you do with it though mate? (apart from drive it obviously). It's the finished article and certainly one of the finest examples of a Z32 that I have seen, however I think that may be it's biggest problem, it's too complete. Therefore any personal changes would surely be minor and it would always be viewed (within the community at least) as someone elses car (kind of like wearing a pair of someone elses really expensive boxer shorts!)

zed on ebay at £23k
I think it'll struggle to see £23k (I'm not saying that it's not worth it) but I see £16k tops, which would mean breaking it for parts unfortunately. This is purely based on what you can currently get for similar budgets at places like Harlow Jap Autos (ie.1000+bhp Tweenie Rob built R32 GTR/Issiki Engineering Supra etc)

Predictable Mitsubishi garage quote...made me laugh
Well first off our Mitsubishi Grandis is a great family MPV, but I'm sure it listens to every single word I say and that's when it starts to play games The other month somebody asked about good MPV's and I piped up with "The Mitsubishi Grandis is a good family wagon, 7 seats, this is our 2nd one and it hasn't missed a beat....." then less than 24hrs later I'm waiting for the AA to turn up just after leaving bobgenie's place as the the Grandis decided that it didn't need it's alternator pulley anymore and opted to send it flying around the engine bay instead! so eventually (after 3 different AA vans/transporters) I dropped the MPV off near the Mitsubishi garage and the following morning asked for a quote. Mitsubishi wanted £450+ in parts and £100 labour ebay wanted £100 for parts including 8am delivery next day....it was a no brainer, Mitsubishi fitted my parts! yesterday I had someone come around and take our little estate car (that we're selling) for a test drive and I commented again, that apart from the alternator pulley issue, it (the Grandis) hadn't given us any problems.....big mistake, it heard me!!! Today on the way back from an appointment the Grandis felt really sluggish, I then noticed that the glow plug warning light was flashing!! So a quick glance on ebay showed Bosch parts at about £12 a piece, so with this information in hand I phoned up the Mitsubishi garage..... they want near as damn it £40 'per glow plug' and have quoted £350 for labour (coincidentally the exact figure that my wife predicted just 10 minutes before I made the call) and in addition to that, a £30 diagnostic was recommended just to ensure that the glow plug warning light was actually warning that there was a problem with the glow plugs??? They could squeeze us in mid next week..... Me thinks this'll be a DIY job

cant get the diff to fit
These are what I've now started to call '******* jobs' which generally are started, but then something doesn't go quite as simply as you thought it would and then when you eventually get round to asking advice all you hear is "Oh yeah, that's a ******* of a job" I had a nightmare stripping the rear arms and hubs off my LWB the other year, and ended up taking to it with a grinder....and in the end I gave up on it then I started the same task with the SWB the other week and though it took a few days (a few ******* jobs) they all worked out in the end *apart from the ball joint removal, which I have a solution for* then I started on the drivers side rear and that time round it only took me 25 minutes from start to finish? Like I said mate, looks like you've just got yourself a proper ******* job! Don't give up mate :hammer: If in doubt...give it a clout!!!

cheap profec boost controller

F1 and Sky
Yeah I forgot about those wise words of wisdom from the mouth of Bernie Ecclestone last season, wasn't it something like "It's great news....the F1/Sky deal will benefit all F1 fans" or something along those lines....not entirely sure how he figures that, maybe "It's great news....the F1/Sky deal will benefit my own bank balance" would be more fitting bet what the hell, I've got Sky anyway so no worries here

apexi multichecker
I've got two of these, with the intention of using them as individual AF metres. Can anyone see any issues with this?
-
Project anyone ??
Well if I remember correctly Noble shells are FRP or GRP one piece and manufactured in South Africa (so that would cost) and yeah, proper ****ed I reckon As for parts, doesn't the Noble just have a 3ltr Ford engine with Mondeo box (or earlier models at least)? It would be interesting to see if it did get taken on, certainly nothing special about the frame

Could you pass a British citizenship test???

S14 rear coilovers on a Z32
I'm talking about these for the rare HCR32 Skyline that came out of the factory with the RB20DET http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290673329716?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 and when you say that the bottom of the type flex un-screw, do you mean that the whole bottom green piece can be un-screwed and replaced with that from another set?

rb26 swap
In my humble opinion, I'm not totally sold on the whole VH45DE conversions mate, I'm pretty sure 'Thor' offer these as package conversions and every one seems to be a bit underpowered for what it's potential should be (mostly around the 300-350bhp mark), though I could be getting confused with the old Lexus V8 conversion?? however the VQ30DET or twin turbo jobbie' would be a good shout I reckon I've seen the VQ30DET before in a nasty pink Nissan Gloria but couldn't remember what else it had been in, so a quick Wiki: VQ30DET The 3.0 L (2987 cc) VQ30DET is a turbocharged version of the VQ30DE. Bore and stroke remain the same at 93 mm and 73.3 mm respectively, and it has a compression ratio of 9.0:1. It produces 270 PS (200 kW; 270 hp) and 271 lb·ft (367 N·m). From 1998 onwards, it produces 280 PS (210 kW; 280 hp) @6000 rpm and 285 lb·ft (386 N·m) @3600 rpm. It is fitted to the following vehicles: 1995–2004 Nissan Gloria Y33,Y34 1995–2004 Nissan Cedric Y33,Y34 1997–1999 Nissan Leopard Y33 2001–present Nissan Cima F50 [edit] VQ30DETT VQ30DETT The twin-turbo VQ30DETT is an engine used only in Nissan's race cars, primarily in the Super GT (formerly the JGTC). First used on the Skyline GT-R race cars during the 2003 season, this engine subsequently powered the Fairlady Z race cars. Homologation rules allow them to use the VQ30DETT in lieu of the stock VQ35DE. Race output of this engine is estimated at around 480 PS (350 kW; 470 hp). The VQ30DETT was replaced in 2007 by the VK45DE for use in the Super GT Fairlady Z's and later in the GT-R. It was utilized in the following vehicles: 2003 Skyline GT-R JGTC race cars (Non-Production) 2004 Fairlady Z JGTC race cars (Non-Production) 2005–2006 Fairlady Z Super GT race cars (Non-Production) Would be interesting to see how many of these are still around

S14 rear coilovers on a Z32
S13 = 1224kg S14 = 1253kg Z32 SWB TT = 1530kg *Difficult to gauge as the shortie' is partially stripped, but now fitted with a roll cage?? I've also been informed that the S14 option might be too long and that the S13 alternative would be better. I'm also looking at info on the Skyline (HCR32/GTST/GTS/R32 RB20det) to see if they would be suitable Is it possible to swap the springs off my rear pair of Z32 Tein Type Flex coilovers onto the equivelent S13 pair?

Mapping oddity
No mate, goats milk very rarely blips below 13.3, I'd say it's more likely to be mapped for high octane badgers piss but at some point some muppet's got mixed up at the pumps and put squirrel urine in it
