Coilover question
I'll pop down on Tuesday to collect the rims and if it looks dodgy I'll get them to swap them for wider. I believe brand and type make a big difference, but I wouldn't know for sure if I'm honest, what works and what doesn't. All I know from experience are that 888's are great for Summer but shit in the Winter, P Zero's are fantastic but wear down rediculously quick and Falkens are a goody happy medium. The 245's that I've asked the guys to fit are a pair of Bridgestone Potenza's that I had lying around in the garage, so figured I'd give them a try....we'll see, they might be terrible??

Coilover question
I must have a CV Pro fettish or something, I've bought a load more since I sold the last lot and have them stored above the garage (and this is only half of them!) If you want to pop over and see if any of these fit better you're welcome to, it might be possible to swap parts over in order to make a better fitting set (ie. change the inner rim etc)???

Coilover question

Coilover question
Seriously is such a scary word! I had a chat with the guys down at John Woods in Hereford yesterday when I dropped the rims off and explained the situation, we've agreed to try it and see. With an aspect ratio of 40 rather 30/35 it should be fine..... Here's an example of a 245 tyre on a 10" wheel

Coilover question
I've just had a quick look at your other thread bud I've opted for 18" x 10" wide CV Pros (one piece rather than split rims) on the rear of my shortie. They sit flush to the rear arch with no requirement for spacers, however pre-empting possible catching issues if I were to use 265/275 tyres, I've now opted for narrower 245/40/18 tyres on the rear and will just adjust tyre pressures as appropriate for grip. Do you think that rolling the rear arches slightly or going for slightly narrower tyres might help on the rear mate?

Coilover question
is it the front or rear coilovers that are buggered mate? I've got some OEM shocks that you can have or if you want to borrow some coilovers, maybe it'd be possible to modify the GTR HKS coilovers that I've got in the shed, just as a temporary measure to get you through the MOT

Anyone want to buy my Z so I can buy this
I think this is the epitome of the 'Marmite' car there are those that think it's a stunning piece of automobile history and then there are those of us who don't think that Joanna Lumley would get it big time!

To track or not to track???
Much as I don't like them (the car's that is not the APT boys!!) the APT boys have built a tidy track prepped Saxo, purely for the purpose of cheap track fun Here's the link to the build thread....think throttle bodies + lightweight chassis and you've got the idea http://www.bigpower.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=19390&highlight=saxo they were talking of selling it on a while back but might be worth considering as a cheap track toy Personally (and very hypocritically) I would not set out at this stage to use your zed as a track toy, especially if it's your daily driver. Buy a cheap alternative and use that to build up your confidence and skill level as Jim has said, they can be an expensive habit, even more so as the zed bits that like to break are generally the expensive bits! just my view mate

I'll just sell them on mate. They're only really any good for a wide arch zed and I'm now sticking with flush 10" wide rear rims. It's a shame because I think they're stunning

Typical...my uber wide rims have just arrived from Japan but plans have changed now
You know when you've been waiting so long for something to arrive and eventually when it does, your plans have changed.... well that's exactly the position I'm in now I bought an uber expensive and wide pair of SSR rims from Japan last year, they matched my previous Enkei rims perfectly. Well they arrived this afternoon... The intention was to go wide on the rear (an extra 50mm) and go a bit wider up front (about 20mm) but now that the rims have arrived I kinda' don't need them anymore because 1. The Enkei's have gone to Germany and 2. I'm not planning on going wide on the rear anymore So now I've got a spare pair of deep dish (over 4" deep in fact) SSR split rims that are 11.5" wide with a low offset of ET +16 On a non wide reared zed they may sit outside of the arch just a tad :tongue_smilie: I even had a pair of used 295 Bridgestone Potenza semi slicks for using up the 1/4 mile but they won't even fit on my 10" wide Volks another one for ebay I think!!

Ecu chip up to 18psi
So 14/15psi is about max boost for a stock block? therefore assuming all the usual upgrades (rad/intercooler/twin air intakes/EBC/EMS/decat exhaust etc) have been taken care of, what power/torque figures do you think are achievable on a stock block with stock turbos, running 15psi with the following injectors fitted: 555cc injectors = 740cc injectors = 800cc injectors = I'm just curious

Any one fancy a GMC-VW DELOREAN
I'm not sure on the engine size and spec but I think think the Delorean used a Renault lump?? but I must admit to having a soft spot for the old VW Scirocco, I had a mint red GT2 about 15 years back and it was a fantastic little car. I think it had the same 1.8ltr engine as the Mk1 Golf GTi, mine had just shy of 250k miles on the clock when I eventually traded it in against a....um.....Volvo  I traded it in at a dodgy garage in the middle of Belfast, initially the guy offered me £1800 trade in but then on the test drive the engine decided that it was time to call it a day (lots of steam)....the result....well in the space of 3 seconds I lost £1200 off the trade in value of my Scirocco and ended up only getting £600 part ex :headvswal thinking about it now, I'm sure the guy pulled a few pipes out when he was having a nose around the engine bay and maybe played me for the nieve tit that I was!!

green eyed monster
I very rarely (in fact never) comment on threads such as this, however just playing devil's advocate here, it may be worth considering: If later on down the line both your husband and his gym partner turn out to be entirely innocent and that they are in fact just good friends (which they quite possibly could be) it may be wise to give due consideration to how hubby may react to his faithfulness and integrity being brought into question and commented on by complete strangers on a public forum? I personally believe that PM'ing friends on here for advice would maybe be more appropriate, rather than giving complete transparency to your personal life (and thoughts) for all and sundry to comment on I'm not having a dig but if your hubby does read this thread for whatever reason then I dare say that it's not likely to do either of you or your marriage any good just my thoughts and feel free to ignore every single word I hope it all works out for you both in the end I don't mean to sound harsh but you could have anybody reading this and some may not be as nice as those that have already commented
