camber/caster advice please...
I've just checked and the nut is 0.5", the gap between the strut and camber arms is just shy of 1" on full travel so should be ok. There's no way that I'd get it all done by the 12th so for now I'm going to stick with the Volks and work out clearance options for the other rims after Japfest. I've go a long list of jobs to get done and have about 9 days to get them all cracked

Whiteline 'heavy duty' droplinks....my arse!
Thanks for the offer mate, but I've just this minute ordered a pair of SPL Parts droplinks...I think I'll send these ones back to Whiteline along with some constructive customer feedback (I'm not sure that they'll manage to get the whole of the droplink up their arse but they can give it a go!)

Whiteline 'heavy duty' droplinks....my arse!
Quote: Product Details 300ZX Whiteline Front Swaybar Drop Links. Complete heavy duty adjustable drop links with spherical rod ends. What a pile of shite! They've been fitted just over a week and both sides have started to rust already!! apart from the rust the drivers side is fine however the passenger side is ****ed!!!! now unless Whiteline droplinks fit differently to stock droplinks and require more than 10mm of thread either end then I can't explain why in the space of 15m at a crawling pace, the thread would sheer inside??? incidentally the CZP links on the rear are spot on!!! any ideas?

camber/caster advice please...
The lower arms are already adjustable mate? all of the tyres for the rear vary between 235-255, the arches are rolled and now need to be flared however a bit of negative camber is required in order for the tyre to tuck under the arch when it's lowered a tad more (0:56 of the vid demonstrates that there is no more adjustment in the upper arms hence question about replacing/removing the nut)
-
camber/caster advice please...
Just a thought but if I removed the nut (left/pillowball end of the upper camber arm @ 0:56 of the vid) wouldn't that offer an additional 3/4 inch inner movement? *eg. either replace it with a thinner nut or remove the nut completely

camber/caster advice please...
cheers guys I figured that it would most likely be the tension rod that was the issue, because I didn't have the problem the other week when I fitted the regular DW tension rods, it was only when I fit the DW Geomaster type (that are deliberately bent) that the problem arose :thumbup1: I'll go check the rims now bud ta

camber/caster advice please...
*cut and pasted from DW* Here's a quick video clip to help explain the situation the white Volks are 18's and are decent enough (9j/10j ET +45) and sit pretty well but I wanted something with a lip and preferably 17's as the local tyre supplier get's a lot more 17" part worns than 18" so I did a deal with reeperR32 on Driftworks for his 17's I knew that being ET -7 they were going to take a bit of adjusting to get in the arches. A bit of camber on the front (9j's) sorted them but the rear arches on Z32's are lame and as expected the rear rim lip (10j) sits a good 50mm outside the arch, with the edge of the tread sitting approx 25-30mm outside the arch. I figured that I'd do the same with the rear, bring the camber in and maybe flare the arch....but there's no more camber to play with and I don't think that I'll get enough of a flare to make up the difference It stands to reason that going for an ideal offset/width would have been the wisest move but I'm sure that there'll be some way of getting them sitting right. Preferably without having to go down the wide arch route purely because there's fook' all available for a SWB Z32 the other minor issue is that the front rims sit a bit further forward than previosuly, now I put this down to the fact that I've replaced all the stock components with DW adjustable kit and it hasn't gone for a wheel alignment yet but I want to get it in the general area before taking it down. What part needs adjusting to bring the front wheels back slightly so that they sit closer to the centre of the arch? I've got a track session booked at Castle Combe early doors 12th May so need to get something sorted before then any advice welcome

Anybody got a spare £750k under their bed??
Worth more than a Veyron for it's historical value alone in my opinion, but same principle as selling a zed I suppose....it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay (though I feel that this may see a bit more love than your avereage secondhand zed on ebay)

A sad day.....but at the same time freakin' hilarious!!
Your right mate the shell was completely rust free my son looked really gutted yesterday when he got back from school and realised what was going on, so I explained that a lot of the old car's parts had been transferred to the black SWB and what was left would be going to the big scrap yard in the sky....he thought for a second or two and then turned to his sister and explained that it was alright and that because some of the red cars parts were in the black one it's 'soul' would live on.....now that's deep for a 7 year old!

SpeedView Head up Display
I do quite like it but agree to a certain degree with Vod's with regards to positioning. I also understand the explaination as to why that wouldn't be such a good idea, so all that being said....could I mount it to my Oakleys? .

Sorry if I'd known I would have mate and just wanted to add, I've just had a set of your skirts and the fitment is absolutely spot on mate (better than the pucker Veilside skirts that were fitted, and I thought that they were really good!)

A sad day.....but at the same time freakin' hilarious!!
The old girl is then cut into quarters and there you have it...granted they had to make two trips but 1 x LWB zed in a not so LWB transit van a bit of elbow grease and that'll polish out I'm sure :tongue_smilie: I've got some video clips to upload, but it'll take a while gutted as I say, but fresh start......and I've got another driveway to play with now

A sad day.....but at the same time freakin' hilarious!!
I must admit that I am pretty gutted today has eventually arrived I always had a soft spot for my old LWB TT and I'd worked bloody hard getting it almost to where I wanted it then I made the fatal error of entrusting the old girl with a bunch of fookin' cowboys and that unfortunately was the beginning of the end  after several failed attempts at making the best of a bad situation, the other month I finally had to face the sad reality that the old girl had smoked her last tyre so last Friday I recieved a phonecall from the Long Haired General (the wife) saying that somebody had knocked on the door and asked if we would sell the shell for a second I hoped that somebody was willing to take it on as a long term project but alas no....they wanted it for scrap value cue this morning....... I answer a knock at the door expecting to be met with scrapyard crew with either a low loader or a trailer nope!!!! that would be a young lad in his mid 20's who suffers severe anxiety attacks (no seriously!!!) and an 85 year old man wearing a shirt and tie  and in the background......a transit van (and not even a big transit van!!) here begins the Laurel and Hardy act for the next 7 hours...... Me: "I'm telling you mate, it won't fit" Old boy: "trust me" Old boy: "Maybe a sledge hammer on the rear quarters will sort it..." Old boy: "It won't fit?" Me: *Face Palm* Time for the big guns!! To get it to this stage literally required Laurel and Hardy to break every possible health and safety rule in the book...we're talking village idiot stylee sawing of branch that he's sat on and coming very, very close to cutting through the angle grinder cable on countless ocassions Me: "Would you like some eye protection and some ear defence?" Old boy: *Looking at me as if I'm strange "No" Me: "Right you are....I'll be back in a minute, I'm just going to grab a carrier bag to put your fingers in once you've cut them off!" *Meanwhile young lad is hiding in the cab having another anxiety attack because (his explaination) he'd had a bad experience with an angle grinder before...
