  1. Interesting how the film/TV industry work these days. I remember years ago (very early 90's) my uncle used to work as a haulage driver for a scrap metal merchants, and they had an old Bedford/DAF type van that the boss had driven around in for years. Some random person turned up one day and made him an offer that he couldn't refuse so he sold it. A few months later the same van was on TV in a Lynda La Plante TV mini drama called 'Civvies' so the mystery buyer was obviously out sourcing props and vehicles and stumbled on this old van.
  2. Could I just confirm fellas' that the stock spoilers are the same size for both LWB and SWB zeds (ie. interchangeable) cheers
  3. I was thinking exactly the same thing mate, for whatever reason Nissan have put them in so that they don't have the space to be removed, if they were the other way round it wouldn't even be a problem. I've eventually managed to lever the traction arm off but the bolt is still in there, at least the DW kit should go in pretty easily though. That other one (eccentric bolt I think it's called) is a complete pain in the arse, after a closer inspection I think there's a washer that if rotated will marry up to a groove in the thread of the bolt, so hopefully a set of grips will hold it steady whilst I turn the bolt and slide the washer off. It's never easy with these motors is it
  4. I'm just in the process of fitting all the adjustable bits on the rear of the shortie' and can't remember how I got these bolts out last time, the nuts are off both of them anyone???? and this one
  5. Rgr, cheers mate I'm working on the photoshop'd decal layout proposal right now, and we now have a local garage on board to help out with maintenance
  6. dammmit! I was wondering what that scraping noise was....

  8. Atmosphere looks totally different, the crowd look well up for it..... and the coppers....well let's just say, I can't see the UK Police giving Japspeed or Driftworks a blue light escort up the M5 anytime soon! They'd sooner do you for mis-placed decals and negative camber than join in D1NZ just made it to the top of my must see list
  9. Cheers bud I'm just sat here re-viewing the last few weeks D1 Pro Grand Prix from Japan and Formula Drift from the States and On the Edge Drifting. This ^^^^ makes a nice change
  10. a set of 18" Volks, Apexi boost gauge and some fmic hard pipes.....she was chuffed to nuts......well when I say 'chuffed' it was more a stroppy, I'm not talking to you kind of chuffed! but the cards from me and the kids plus the flowers and nice knitted top won her over
  11. Thanks mate, I'll take a look now cheers
  12. Does anybody have a pic showing where exactly the PVRV hole is?
  13. Yes mate, it's a carbon fibre VIS Racing vented panel
  14. I had this exact conversation with my wife yesterday. I'll introduce the local Police to the car and make them aware of the reason behind it and if they have an issue with it or want it changing (ie. oil cooler as you say) then I can make the changes there and then. MOT won't be an issue (he's a sub-sponsor!)
  15. Very generous mate, but I'd rather any donations go straight to Help for Heroes, keeps it nice and simple that way (ie. my sponsors and I build it and pay for it/the guys drive it and break it/my sponsors and have it re-built it etc).
  16. I saw the episode of Top Gear where they featured the injured servicemen preparing for the Dakar Rally. Fantastic stuff but unfortunately there were only vacancies for a select few in the team. Whereas the TEAM DOG SOLDIERS project is open to all at the open days with the competetive driving being a seperate aspect but all part and parcel of the overall project. Plus there are vast numbers of potential practice and open day venues at no cost.
  17. Rgr, cheers bud I'll keep you posted When 'TIC 2' is ready to roll and we've got an idea of who the driver/s are then we plan to get Soldier mag to run a feature on the project, but having chatted to one of the sponsors yesterday, they are keen to get this off the ground pretty sharpish
  18. "BE DIFFERENT. GIVE YOUR CAR A UNIQUE LOOK!" He's got a point though....there aren't actually that many car's driving around with only three wheels where once there were four! Maybe it'll take off (or roll over?)
  19. Rattle cans all the way mate, but will use a compressor when we move to our new place. Both cars are for drift. The overall project's sponsors colours are (1) yellow and (2) grey/sky blue. My own companies colours are white and blue, so we'll cater for all. The 18" Volks are all white. Here's my vision for the decals ('Tic 1' the SWB zed is funded soley by myself but wearing the TDS project sponsors decals.....'TIC 2' is an S body funded by my company and both additional sponsors) Both cars will be satin black based with white wheels and carbon bonnets etc On both carbon bonnets is a large bulldog (in black and white) written above the bulldog in US military stencils is 'TEAM DOG SOLDIERS' and below is 'ATTITUDE ABOVE DISABILITY' the front bumper and rear bumpers will display 'TIC 1' or 'TIC 2' *'TIC 2' the TEAM DOG SOLDIERS second car, will be based on an S body (PS13/S14) which will be converted for the disabled drivers (ex service men and women who have lost lower limbs). Several open days/BBQ's will be held throughout the latter part of the year, where we will identify 2 suitable individuals who will recieve one on one tuition from a professional driver. All going well, one or both drivers will be to a high enough standard and eligable to compete at the lower semi pro levels of BDC 2013 season, against able bodied drivers) (I'll run a seperate thread for this but through recent confirmed sponsorship and support from wealthy petrolhead business associates, the TDS disabled drift car project can now go ahead) *TDS is not charity based and is run soley on the generocity of business associates who want to personally 'give something back' to those injured Rear 1/3 of the cars will feature a diagonal black and white union flag with half blind punisher skull in the centre (a few guys have seen the original arm patch) 'the full message' obviously won't be displayed on the car! Mid 1/3 is sponsor (1) Front 1/3 is Sponsor (2) *confirmed but due to this companies size there's a lot of paperwork to fill out before hand* so will announce following a subsequent meeting along the skirts will run the TEAM DOG SOLDIERS with the 'O' in 'DOG' replaced with the bulldog emblem I'm going to spend the next few days working on the photoshopped pics and will begin a complete project thread in order to explain all
  20. It's been bloody cold your right, snow stopped play for a short while but back on track now and that series 4 spoiler is tucked away safe so you can have it whenever you need it bud, no hurry
  21. I'll give it a couple more coats of satin black on Tuesday, then it'll be ready for decals (anyone a photoshop guru?) it's getting there :thumbup1:
  22. Cue the jokes about talc, noses and bodyguards....
