What is the perfect roadtrip car for under £1k?
How about a Nissan Wingroad estate 1.5ltr petrol auto does about a trillion lightyears to the gallon, is pretty big inside (we used it as a family car for a while: me, wife, 3 kids and a boxer dog + luggage) and comes with all the usual creature comforts from a Jap import (PAS/Air Con/electric everything etc) Note: The bird shit is an optional extra! The Wingroad was designed by Nissan specifically with fuel economy in mind I'm planning on popping it on ebay with 12 months MOT with a starting price of only £700 Off the top of my head it's got about 55k-60k on the clock, with new tyres and battery

was some one looking for 350Z & Infiniti G 6-Speed Trans Adaptor for 300ZX (Z32)
Interesting how opinion differs on this as there have been several ocassions where I've thought that the only real failing by Nissan regarding the Z32, was the fact that a 6 speed option wasn't made available. Let's get some thoery and stats flowing fellas......

What is the perfect roadtrip car for under £1k?
When you say the Mitsi, do you mean this one that you posted up earlier? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-Mitsubishi-Chariot-MPV-Jap-Import-6-Seater-/260939518957?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cc13513ed If £1200 on the road is a bit different to the £695 classified price that they're advertising surely?

That Honda looks pretty good, and more importantly doesn't it have Tax and MOT (which the Mitsubishi doesn't)?

Regardless of what the spec sheet says, real world is low 20's around town and a little better on long hauls but nowhere near as economical as the TD version however that's a fair one mate, if you're sharing the fuel costs then I'd say go for it and see if you can get a bit knocked off or at least half a tank of fuel thrown into the deal. Some Mitsubishi's have a bad reputation for costly reliability but I can honestly say that we've had no drama's at all with the Grandis, and our current one has over 100k on the clock, and I would say that the Mitsi wagon in the add is a very close relation to the Grandis (or the older version at least) I can't see you losing any money on this one mate (fuel aside obviously) good luck

What is the perfect roadtrip car for under £1k?
Just be aware mate, to me this looks very similar to the Mitsubishi Grandis (which we are now on our second as they are fantastic vehicles) but the second time around we opted for the 2ltr TD version as our first one, the 2.4ltr petrol auto, albeit a fantastic vehicle with plenty of grunt, was in fact one of the worst cars we've owned for fuel economy. I'd hazard a guess and say that the 2.4ltr petrol auto in this ^^^^^^ is similar to the 2.4ltr petrol auto that was in our first Grandis. Awesome drive, loads of power, quite nippy and very spacious with onboard DVD player in the back and near perfect for long drives. Neither model of Grandis has let us down, not even once BUT....in the real world the 2.4 ltr petrol auto's fuel economy is really bad!

Well the Grandis has the engine at the front and as you can pick up examples with 200k on the clock overheating isn't a problem unless they haven't been maintained If an Omega/Senator is too small and a 7 series is out, then I'm struggling to think what you're gonna' find that's suitable maybe a transit/DAF/Sprinter with club cab, granted not the most comfortable what about a big Volvo and estate car of some description

What is the perfect roadtrip car for under £1k?
Toyota Granvia, 3ltr TD same engine as the Hilux, loads of seats and very economical, strong torquey' engine, auto + air con. I know because I've got one but mines only got two seats as it's been converted to a camper. You'd pick up a very scruffy example for £1k but most are around £2.5k-£4k

It'll be interested to see if today's youth 'get' the humour or if they just end up embarassed looking at their old fart parents pissing themselves with laughter and quoting from episodes gone by

Anyone going to Japfest?
I gave a brief up at RAF Waddington a few years back, stayed in Lincoln in a hotel at the top of that stupidly steep cobbled lane/road. Getting up that after a skin full was interesting I'll be going to Japfest this year bud, will see you all there

Z32....pull or push type clutch?
I've got the same as you (Exedy twin plate) but it needs a re-build, but in total Exedy have quoted not far off a grand! which is rediculous to be quite honest so I figured that I'd look at the HKS triple plate and the Exedy triple plate, and basically there's a secondhand R33 GTR Exedy triple plate up for sale at the moment and I was hoping that I'd be able to bodge together some sort of hybrid clutch. Steve at RB has given some advice (such as using the 8 hole Z32 flywheel rather than the R32 6 hole etc) but the R33 was a 'push type' rather than 'pull type' so pretty much shit out there so just scoping all possible avenues really, rather than shelling out on a new HKS triple; which would kind of defeat the object of this latest build

Replacing the starter motor
I haven't managed to check the starter motor yet but I reckon it might be getting worse, as it now takes 2-4 turns of the key to start her up. It'll then just fire up as if nothing is up? Here's a quick video clip taken on my phone where you can hear it:

Z32....pull or push type clutch?
550-600 at the fly, but ideally I want a margin for reliability/minimise wear and tear, which is why I've been looking to increase to a triple plate from a twin

Z32....pull or push type clutch?
Cheers mate, this clutch issue is going to cause me no end of problems I can see

Z32....pull or push type clutch?
One for the Zed and GTR owners Just wondering: If you attempted to fit an R33 GTR 'pull type' multi plate clutch (mated to a Z32 8 hole flywheel) to a Z32 TT would this work or is the Z32 a 'push type' clutch or has a different sized clutch cover? cheers
