Two into one????
Stemming from a conversation the other day I was just wondering what the effects (+ or -) would be if you removed the stock recirc valves and ran a single bov setup (obviously with custom pipework/'T' pieces etc connecting it all up in some way) rather than the usual setup of two individual bov's. ****Please, please, please no "I don't see the point" or "Bov's are the spawn of satan" comments**** I'm just asking the question out of curiosity and looking at possible solutions that may work in theory cheers

Adjustable upper and lower arms question?
It was just something that I'd wondered, but yeah I see the point that in thoery it can be done but in practice it's probably not the best option. Maybe a small amount of adjustment (10mm or so would be fine). I can't say how they effect the handling as I've only ever test fitted them but never driven with them fitted. This actually leads me to my second question with regards to the Driftworks HICAS replacement kit All of my DW parts were test fitted to the LWB (now all removed) and I was wondering, I noticed that the HICAS arms on the SWB look slightly different to those that were on the LWB. The LWB was also an earlier UK model with hydraulic HICAS whereas the SWB is obviously a later model import with the electronic HICAS. The arms on the SWB look to be at an angle, and very different to the DW HICAS kit (I'll get some pics up later to help explain). Does anybody currently have the DW HICAS kit fitted to a SWB TT and does it fit and feel ok?

Adjustable upper and lower arms question?
Just a thought, but if you've got the full Driftworks adjustable steering and suspension package is this possible: When you fit 9" wheels up front with an offset of (ET +45) you will normally require a spacer to make the wheel sit flush with the arch (this will affect the feel and handling), however, is it possible to adjust all of the upper and lower steering and suspension components to effectively negate the use of the spacer (ie. literally 'push' the wheel further out) in order for the wheel to sit flush with the arch? I believe the Driftworks kit offers 20mm-25mm of adjustment.

Twin oil coolers...at what stage is it appropriate?
That is a valid point and something I've discussed elsewhere, the general opinion is that the pro's outweigh the con's as there is minimal risk of engine damage, though a specific oil type was suggested (I'll try to find the old PM) I'd be interested to get others views on this though

Twin oil coolers...at what stage is it appropriate?
It's an absolute stunning example of an R34 GTR, and exactly what I was looking for back in 2007 (had I not been a complete prat and bought a zed and an FD instead because it was 'cheaper' :headvswal)......unfortunately the owner, Alex, overlooked the requirement for an on board fire extinguisher system!!! http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=jap%202011%20r34%20gtr%20catches%20fire&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CDQQtwIwAw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dxm1UHdtrVKI&ei=igwOT8qhJ9S78gP25OWHCg&usg=AFQjCNElsBn01J5woa3ZfokBVRk8UWMhwA by all accounts though, the car got off pretty lightly and wasn't too badly damaged (though still expensive no doubt)

Twin oil coolers...at what stage is it appropriate?
not really an option unfortunately, I sold my 19 row HEL last year as it didn't fit in with my re-location plan at least with these I've got the option of running it (the ARC) above the fmic in a similar manner to this R34 GTR (though my ARC cooler is about 1/3 larger than this one) I figure it would get much cooler air if located here than if it was behind the fmic the idea of having a second (calsonic) cooler located in the stock location was to increase cooling again on fairly long track sessions (if required???). Alternately, if not used as a secondary oil cooler then maybe it could be used as an upgraded PAS cooler instead, if that makes sense?

Twin oil coolers...at what stage is it appropriate?
Here's a question for you??? If I wanted to run just one of these coolers for now and didn't want to use the sandwich plate, would I be able to just snip off the ends of the braided hoses and jubilee clip onto the stock oil pipes (where the stock oil hoses slip over the metal oil pipes)? The only possible issue that I can see is that the hoses are sized to fit what I believe are pretty large ID hoses (the connector is just shy of 50mm ID) so whatever that is in AN fitment? Centre light panel to give an indication of cooler size:

at first glance I thought it was a novelty BBQ

Unless I've read this completely wrong, apparently the best way to increase the value of your old zed is to cut the fooker' in half and sell it on ebay for twice the price! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-Twin-Turbo-Front-Clip-VG30DETT-Motor-BLITZ-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-FRONT-/260927461572?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc07d18c4

High powered Zeds and traction?
- What do you look Like....
Is that a pint glass she's holding....how big are her hands?!?!- High powered Zeds and traction?
what this one you mean?- High powered Zeds and traction?
but surely a lot of the boots weight is in the glass (and the lump of metal that Nissan put in there) so if the glass is going back in then yes there will be a weight difference but surely not enough to upset the balance of the car so dramatically? There are zeds with those nasty 'tubbed' rears from zcentre that do away with the glass altogether, I would have thought that they would be affected more than a zed that has been fitted with a carbon boot??- High powered Zeds and traction?
Exactly ^^^^ in fact you could be onto something there....could you mount a childs seat or two in the back of your zed (ie. in the boot)? technically it would be an MPV then, a very practical family charriot- High powered Zeds and traction?
I doubt it mate, but maybe a bit of aero for slightly higher speeds would benefit If it does start to cause problems, just throw a sandbag or a full sized spare in the boot- My z for sale for £100 no joke
That's a good point actually, if friends and relatives can enter you'd find it easier to meet your target.- My z for sale for £100 no joke
I'd say, reduce the 'competition entry' cost by even more than that maybe £1-£5 and spread your net wider to incorporate all of the zed clubs/forums, but first off, make sure that it's legal to run a competition like this and secondly make sure that it's 100% transparent or you will no doubt get some disgruntled prat claim that it was rigged when I win it.....I mean, when somebody wins it :whistling:- Greddy fmic pipework
Yeah, that might be easier bud- Greddy fmic pipework
Thanks mate, that would be really helpful *just made a video for you by the way, loading into photobucket but it's taking ages* cheers- Greddy fmic pipework
cheers fellas, much appreciated ideally I could do with finding someone who's got pipework that they're willing to sell, failing that borrowing some to copy would work- What's daftest thing you've done this week?
All part and parcel of my injuries after the accident unfortunately.....but justifiably so, the dog wasn't impressed!- What's daftest thing you've done this week?
and I won't even tell you how long the dog was tied up outside the Spar shop after I'd headed home with the milk and paper!- Greddy fmic pipework
You have PM matey - What do you look Like....
