top gear christmas special
The thing with Bear Grylls that I don't quite get is that he obviously knows a lot about various survival techniques and with one of his old SF army socks and the blue tits eyelash that he carries in his pocket, he could probably knock up a fire in less than 20 seconds........so why the **** does he insist on grabbing hold of frogs and snakes and just troffing them down??? If you're that good fella', cook the bloody thing!! He is entertaining though, and by all accounts (well I saw the sign on the side of Scout HQ opposite my hotel room) he's the UK's chief scout, so fair play to the guy anyway, are you in the UK now bud?
-
Whats wrong with this guy ???
Interesting....is this trade sale or private sale? because if this was on a forecourt at £2.5k 'by mistake' how would that fair, would they legally be obliged to honour the advertised price?

thank god my tv is already broke
Did you win then? :whistling:

top gear christmas special
Yeah that Stig. I thought his book was quite a good read and to be fair he doesn't go on too much about it, a lot less than I was expecting in fact. Now Bear Grylls, he does go on a bit about being ex SF. They're all civvy's in green kit anyway....

top gear christmas special
I went to the Top Gear studio back in Decemebr '09 with a couple of lads from work as guests of the Stig, who were friends of friends etc. It was the episode with Seasick Steve as the special guest, and it was a good day for the most part. The only down side was the five or six takes just to get the 'Hammond falling off and crashing his motorised scooter/skateboard thing on set' :hammer: We were briefed by JC to laugh as much the second, third and forth time as we did the first Best bit of the day was being a passenger with Ben Collins when he completely destroyed a rim whilst testing the 'new' Focus RS on track.....that obviously wasn't staged

Fitting LWB side skirts to a SWB?
Sorry bud I missed this, I'm looking for a very plain looking set of skirts but they have to be straight sitting parallel with the road (ie. no arch) if that makes sense. Something similar to the Stillen GTZ-R, but without the arch and for the SWB and gold standard would be carbon fibre. Similar to some of the Vertex skirts on a lot of D1 cars

Insane Dyno........

FD style widebody on a SWB zed...
It's fookin' rediculous bud.....no fooker' does a kit for the SWB!!! Everywhere you look it's bone as fook' Strosek or copy Strosek.....boring as *****cks! I've just bought CAD for the company and was even contemplating designing my own kit (if you're interested) For the cost of a single video/data/Pwr connector we could fund a complete re-design of a kit!!! give me a bell in the morning bud....

FD style widebody on a SWB zed...
Mission have got some fantastic kit bud, but next to fook' all for the shortie' that I can see! Got confirmation of payment for a new contract bud, what I earned in a year with my old lot I've earned in 3 weeks, some good news for my company with regards to overseas sales, so it's working but....I just want to sort this shortie out now mate ready for crimbo' now?

old film's?
^^^^^ good call! All apart from Tom Cruise!! I don't know, maybe it's me but I've got this thing about midgets......

FD style widebody on a SWB zed...
The thing is, Marty has got some fantastic ideas and he'll no doubt create an outstanding zed from them but I want to create something very different. As hard as it may be to comprehend, I've spend £68k + £22k on two cars and have next to fook' all to show for it due to my nievity I'd like to create my vision of a perfect zed and use that vision to build upon Things have been pretty shite for me recently and they are now looking up thanks to very wealthy friends who have thrown me and my company a lifeline this is my creation and I'm thankful for the opertunity to create it

FD style widebody on a SWB zed...
I really don't like a lot of the kits for the zed, and it would be nice to design a kit that compliments the stock lines of the zed rather than just give it a fat arse! I was thinking carbon fibre and subtle

FD style widebody on a SWB zed...
I'd like your views on this if I could please. Stemming from a recent conversation I've been racking my brain for inspiration for a wide'ish body conversion for the shortie' but I'm really not a fan of 99% of what's currently available (ie. Strosek/copy of Strosek/copy of a copied Strosek etc). I spent most of '07 through until '10 looking and didn't really find anything that I truly liked Mission in Japan do a nice kit as do Final Konnexion, but they don't cater for the SWB. Now I loved the look of my FD (in sig pic) despite all the heartache that came with it, so was thinking about the possibility of paying for a custom one off wide'ish (about 20mm - 25mm tops) kit for my SWB using the FD kit as inspiration. The FD kit is made up of Final Konnexion, Uras and Border racing 'bits' and I think that it works well, however appreciating that the zed and the RX are very different looking cars, do you think that the styling would work? in particular I want side skirts that sit parallel to the floor without the usual 'arch'... Cost (within reason) isn't really an issue in this case your thoughts please

Wheel questions
I think you'll struggle to get anybody to repair that and blend it in. Are they 17's or 18's bud?

replace clutch
If you haven't got the time to do it yourself, how much would an average garage charge for the labour?

Does he know what he's got ?
Maybe I am just having a rant then without even realising it. To me it's just the same as when you post a for sale thread and find that the majority of posts consist of 'I don't like that etc'....completely pointless. I agree that misleading adverts and dodgy dealers need exposing and sorting out (after all I've been stung twice myself) but at the same time if a guy has done nothing wrong apart from listing a poor ad or supplying very little info then certain comments can be a bit harsh. I hope that if this zed turns out to be a good'en then some new zed owner will have many happy years with it

It's a 1992 mate!
When you swap cars for the day make sure you rig his fuel pump with a discreet remote cut off switch and keep the remote in the zeds glove box, then next summer meet him down Santa Pod at a RWYB and race him for 'pink slips' :ninja:

Identify my bits!
This seems like a really interesting zed that you've got. I'm not sure how the HICAS works on later models with the electronic HICAS rather than the hydraulic setup of the earlier zeds, maybe the Tomei unit has something to do with that? What year is it mate?

Does he know what he's got ?
Well like you said, maybe he doesn't know what he's got or maybe he's made a genuine mistake
