What the hell is this???
I suppose you'll need the speedo for the MOT, if it was just for your own SA then a GPS set to mph would probably work, though I very much doubt the MOT guys would agree Is it just a dodgy connection perhaps? I had this with an old Volvo, I lived with an intermittant speedo for about a year and then at MOT time the garage took a quick look, reconnected something and it all worked fine?? As for getting the alignment done, yeah I'd get that sorted as a priority, if nothing else you'll probably be trashing your tyres

Free beer!!!!
The Enkei's that were on the rear are ET +23 (10") and sit about half an inch proud of the arch. The tyres that are fitted are 255 which only just sit flush with the rear arch, so are stretched slightly. The zeds on stock suspension currently but I'll be replacing this with Tein coilovers when I get the time, so it'll be dropped about 20mm or so. I figure that an additional 1.5" of rim width + the difference in offset would make the rim/tyre stick out more. If I can get away with just rolling the arches then that's ideal but if I have to go for a wide arch or over fender option then I might have to reconsider and maybe just buy a different set of rims.

What the hell is this???
I've found this at around 60mph with the spare set of 17's that I had to throw on temporarily last week (road works + rim + roundabout = bad times). I figure that it's just a wheel balancing issue.....either that or my hubs are about to fall off! Couldn't the lads in the LAD sort your wheel whobble for you before driving back to the UK?

What the hell is this???
That's your flux capacitor mate....for God sake don't take the zed over 88mph!

Sorry, not really yet another SWB TT offset vs arch rolling question I'm afraid: ET +16 (11.5") wide on rear would rolling of the rear arches suffice or will these rims require the fitting of wide arches/overfenders etc? thanks

Is this repairable?
Ok well Exedy have said that they don't offer spare parts though Z1 have offered a replacement cover for $330 + shipping. Strange question but has this already got a flywheel attached?

I had a Vettel moment this morning!
Last night at about 9'ish I was heading back to Hereford from the Abergavenny roundabout when I stopped at the road works traffic lights; they're re-doing some of the main road, anyway the lights turn green so I'm off getting up to 60mph when I hear a horrendous bang at the rear left! After thinking that I'd run over a freakin' cow the zed seemed to handle fine apart from a bit of a buzzing noise from the rear left quarter. Got home alright and took a quick walk around the back of the car, nothing obvious found. Anyway this morning I'm heading back down the same stretch of road and stop at the same set of road works traffic lights; albeit heading in the opposite direction. I took a quick look and noticed that the newly laid cats eyes are sitting several inches above the level of the road surface. Roll on a few minutes and I'm going around the Abergavenny roundabout at about 30mph when suddenly I'm Tokyo drifting in the outside lane. Thankfully the old instincts kicked in and I contrlled it; the guy in the 4x4 clearly thought thst I was show boating as he looked less than impressed! So I pull over just after the Newport exit and take a look....the tyre had instantly deflated but the rim looked to have survived. I'd binned the spacesaver so the wife threw a spare set of rims in the MPV and drove down. I cracked on changing the four rims over and she began to load the Enkei's into the boot. It was then that she pointed out the damage that the cats eyes had done the night before.... All I can say is thankfully it happened at low speed and not on the motorway Monmouthshire council have asked for a written statement after my wife described the damage On blackberry at the moment so not sure if the pic will insert properly

Is this repairable?
If you could mate that would be great. I've sent an email to Exedy to see if they stock spares but not holding my breath if I'm honest. Would the guys need the whole cover or just the fingers? cheers bud

Is this repairable?
I didn't pay two grand for it, Marty threw it in as part of the deal when I bought the shortie' but a new one from Z1 is over $2200 + taxes etc, so not cheap if I can find someone who can repair it then that would be ideal

Is this repairable?
It would be a shame if the clutch was a right off just because a component (that looks to be replaceable) was fubar'd If a garage could repair it/grind it etc then that would be great but if they can't and if Exedy don't do spare parts then it's a bit naughty really 'cos that's effectively a two grand clutch gone to waste for no real reason

Is this repairable?
Is this repairable/refurb-able? The rest of the clutch is in pretty good shape.....

Anyone running a Centerforce clutch?
As per title, are these any good for much over 400 brake? thanks

Clutch replacement/flywheel swap....
I'll be getting the same garage that sorted my brakes last week to replace the clutch, it's been slipping for a while now. I was wondering if it would make sense to have the garage swap the OEM flywheel for a lightened one at the same time? What would be a rough labour cost on this? cheers

tension rods
True, though the rubber boots on all of my DW parts have perished and they haven't covered a mile yet  still good solid kit though

tension rods
Driftworks are highly rated and of course SPL if money's no object

Advice needed on Apexi/JECS & BLITZ bits...
Blitz's A/F Analyzer ranks among the best in air/fuel meters yet with an affordable price tag. Each A/F Analyzer comes with a fast microprocessor box and its own heated wide-band O2 sensor for unparalleled performance. The five-wire wide-band O2 sensor offers a very wide range voltage readings which gives it greater resolution compared to stockers. This enables the unit to more accurately monitor air/fuel ratios from 9.5 /1 to 16.0 /1. The A/F Analyzer air/fuel readout is displayed on Blitz's Full Auto Turbo Timer (FATT) LCD screen. A warning mode is also incorporated into the unit to alert for lean conditions. The user is able of preset the air/fuel ratio that will trigger the warning alarm. An audible beep will sound off and the LCD display will turn from green to red warning the tuner or driver of the unsafe air/fuel ratio. Considering most racers are keeping their eyes on the track the sound will immediately signal the driver to let off the gas pedal preventing the engine from blowing up. Blitz's FATT meter can also be used as a turbo timer and voltage display meter. The FATT meter automatically calculates and adjusts the time needed to properly cool down the turbo. Battery voltage warning for high and low voltage is also incorporated into the unit. The user sets high and low warning modes to signal a voltage spike or excessive draw. any advice on fitting etc would be much appreciated. I'm looking at fitting the AEM EMS sometime this week, I've assumed that this is compatable??? cheers

Advice needed on Apexi/JECS & BLITZ bits...
I bought a Blitz AF Meter a few weeks back from Dino (japandyno) in Japan. He told me that I would need a second one as the zed usually runs two AFRs and sensors. I've not been able to find another secondhand Blitz one for decent money so when I spotted these 'Multi checkers' from APEXi and JECS I figured that I might be able to utilise them as the second AFR along with their other functions (shift light etc) I bought the JECS one from Dino and the APEXi version from another company Japan, they seem to have some pretty good functions so I snapped them up. Does anybody have experience with either of these systems? Here's some info: The A'PEX-i Multi-Checker features: * Monitors all various aspects of NISSAN vehicles using the diagnostic signal. * The Multi-Checker is a valuable diagnostic tool designed for most NISSAN fuel injected automobiles. The unit monitors and displays a wealth of information and is unmatched by any other similar diagnostic meter on the market today. * The unit displays vehicle speed and engine RPM both in real-time and peak hold modes. Injector pulse duty is displayed in percentages with a peak hold mode. The airflow percentage, ignition timing, horsepower display, torque display, and air-fuel ratio display add to its impressive list of functions. * The unit can also alert the driver to recommended up-shifting points and will sound an alarm as the air flow meter or injectors reach maximum capacity. A large, easy-to-read display clearly shows all functions and is back-lit in orange for easy nighttime visibility. The display can also be set to a bar graph mode for quick and efficient monitoring. I want to use it for its AFR capability but figured that the zed usually needs two sensors and two AFR gauges so I also bought a JECS version to go with it JECS Visual power JSP7000Z Also known as Apexi multichecker but this here is like the Nissan Checker with separate amp unit.: Can also be used in many JDM cars. Made in Japan by Jecs Very nice unit and EXTREMLY RARE Monitors all various aspects of NISSAN vehicles using the diagnostic signal. Daily Drivers???
^^^^^ Same here, zed all the way after several months of 10 hour drives a day I'm now currently doing about 3 hours commuting a day in the shortie' (apart from yesterdays nightmare treck of Hereford-Oakdale-Newport-Bristol-Edinburgh-Dundee-Karrimuir-Dundee-Edinburgh-Bristol-Newport-Oakdale-Hereford all within 24 hours  but the company pay for my fuel so I generally treat the old girl to a bit of super unleaded every other day.....rude not to I think

Oil pressure woes........
That's a sign of a good zed mechanic right there....have a brew.....ponder over the problem for a minute or two.....have another brew.....tinker for half an hour.....problem solved :thumbup1: whereas a bad zed mechanic will stare at your zed (and several other peoples zeds)....crack open a six pack....stare at your zed some more whilst scratching his arse.....have another can (or five) of Fosters with his mates....ignore the problem......adopt some of your parts and bill you for the privelage before driving off into the sunset

Oil pressure woes........
What would be the legal standing of the customer in this instance Jeff? Surely if a new part has been purchased by the customer direct from Nissan, and that part was proven to be faulty, then surely they have a good cause to insist that Nissan foot the bill for any additional labour costs acrued as a direct result from the fitting of the faulty part (ie. additional strip down of the engine and fault finding etc)?
