  1. Well I spent an hour or so today swapping my old stock rad for a Koyo upgrade As always it was a straight forward job, with the only real bit of work involving the cutting down of the SAMCO lower rad pipe to accomodate the new hard pipe section. The only question that I have really is regarding the lower hard pipe. At present in doesn't catch and sits nice and snug however there is an abvious lack of bracket to secure it in place and as such it appears to be just swinging freely, not much but still not completely secure. Is it going to be necessary to fabricate a bracket or will it be fine?
  2. Yeah, I got hacked off with reversing back and forth, and having the passenger side ramp continuously slipping forward, that in the end I thought balls to it I only wanted a bit of elevation at the front anyway, so that I could fit my Koyo rad job done
  3. Some interesting info there ^^^^^, so much so in fact that I've printed off a hard copy and now have it folded away in my glove box just in case PC Plod does descide that he 'knows' best and needs educating. As the shortie' is an import, there's a certain amount of leway. In order to minimise the restriction of air flow to the rad and oil cooler I've trimmed the number plate down to bare minimum, ensuring that all character dimensions/spacings/margins etc are adhered to, to the letter. This is how the plate currently looks
  4. They're off a Mk IV Supra and originally came from Envy Performance mate
  5. The HID kit arrived today, so before I started to fit it (typically it doesn't come with instructions) I figured I'd check in with you guys first. Here's what the kit consists of: The shortie' is a '95 model so therefore has later spec headlights (still crap...but later spec none the less!) I'm sure somebody mentioned previously that the later spec headlights don't require the balast boxes as they are already setup to accomodate the HID harness and is just plug and play, is this correct?
  6. Come on 'Pongos' is such an old term......besides these days squaddies are made to wash at least twice a month, and if it's been raining, technically it's more! 'Royal/Booty etc' on the other hand, can't start the day without at least having a shower!!! WTF is that all about.....FREAKS!!! Simple equation: Marine + Jungle - Vidal Sasoon = :crying: Paratrooper + Jungle + Big f**k off gun =
  7. As always it's your zed mate and your call but I wouldn't even consider it as a viable swap. Nothing against the Prelude but I think you'll regret it before you've even handed over the keys... but if economics are playing a part and it's a means to an end then do what you have to do bud good luck with the sleepless night!
  8. For now I'll stick with these and just be content with not having to drive the zed at night by using 'the force'
  9. Really nice rims (re-post though mate from Gonzo12c's wide arch zed thread) but still very, very nice JDM rims If anyone does fancy buying anything from Dino in the next few weeks, give me a shout and we can split the shipping 50/50 'cos I've got a pair of SSR's in Japan waiting to be shipped One single shipping payment will get you as much kit as you can fit in the container so could be a bit of a saving in the long run
  10. Talking of tyres, here's what a few thousand miles of continuous long hard motorway and B road driving do to Pirelli P Zero's on the front of a zed The rears aren't as bad but they've still taken a pounding. For the last month or so I've been racking up on average about 10 hours driving per day in the zed, a third of that being pretty harsh B roads. I hadn't even spotted the amount of wear, it was a friend of mine who commented the other day. I've switched to a spare set of Dunlop Le Mans for now but lesson learnt, don't assume that your tyres are still good just because they were last time you checked; even if that was only a matter of weeks ago. wheel alignment is next on the agenda I reckon, judging by the wear pattern
  11. Bought and paid for cheers fellas
  12. Thank you kindly :thumbup1:
  13. Just a quick question fellas Ref this HID kit for sale on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-NISSAN-300ZX-H3-/310213954935?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483a314d77 I'm looking at upgrading the stock headlights on the shortie' to HID units, now the headlight units on the shortie' ('95 import model) are different to the headlight unit on the LWB ('91 UK model). Is the above kit the one that I need for the shortie'? cheers
  14. Yep....but don't get me started on it bud, not a happy tale......
  15. Welcome to the zed family mate, we could do with more Z31's on here. I had 3 of them not long back, but had to let them go. Get some pics up bud
  16. Nov 2010 or have I missed something? however, sincere congratulations on the new post mate
  17. Cheers mate, I'll take that into consideration I've got blue SAMCO hoses fitted already and some blue CZP coming this week, if the SFS match up then that's great, however if they are noticeably different then, as you said, I might have to sell what I have and go for SFS throughout. deep joy!
  18. Rgr, so how much would a complete zed package of all the above cost (in blue)? (minus the 4 turbo-plenum hoses and radiator upper & lower hoses that I already have) cheers
  19. Will do mate, I'm trying to get a list of what's actually available from SAMCO/SFS etc
  20. I'm planning on replacing most of the old hoses in the zeds engine bay with new I just wanted to confirm that this SAMCO kit is actually for a zed, the advert seems to suggest that the hoses pictured might not be? I don't want to be forking out on another set of turbo hoses that I've already got. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samco-Silicone-Blue-Turbo-Hose-Kit-Nissan-300ZX-89-/180619677321?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0dc58e89 cheers
