Does he know what he's got ?
I get all of the above and yes the comments on this zed with regards to price are pretty positive but to be honest it's not the reaction to this particular advert that's winding me up, it's the countless other zed ebay adverts by people trying to sell their cars (which is hard enough in the current economical climate as it is) who have their car/advert/grammer/spelling/tastes torn to shreds by forum members who quite clearly have no intention of doing anything other than ripping the piss out of someone else's for sale advert. If the car that's for sale is some multi coloured, patchwork quilt of a Lada estate then ok, but it just seems to me that for whatever reason, it's generally considered open season on ebay adverts selling zeds....why, I don't get it? If people aren't looking to buy, then why slate the advert on an open forum and again, I'm not necessarily talking about this particular zed, I don't know the guy or the car so can't comment on its condition etc I've listed kit on ebay using my Blackberry before now and the ad has been pretty shocking, maybe this is similar?? Not meaning to have a rant, I just think it would be a nicer forum if people stopped taking the piss out of the spelling and grammer in people ebay adverts, especially if the person in question is/was a fellow zed owner just my 2p worth

Does he know what he's got ?
So just as a matter of interest does anybody actually know the guy who's selling this zed? or does anybody know the car particularly well? I was just wondering, 'cos it seems a bit harsh for the guys for sale advert to get trashed on the grounds that it may not be listed on ebay particularly well, or he hasn't had time to wash it yet or if English is not his first language etc. surely this forum is where a lot of potential zed buyers come looking for advice first.....and will no doubt see this (and several other trashed ebay for sale threads) and will most likely walk away.....possibly unjustifiably if the seller is known to be a dodgy scamming fooker' and if this zed is a known pile of junk then fair enough, but if that's not the case then why the negativity? It's not a bad price surely.

Identify my bits!
I made the assumption that it starts, however without a MAF/re-circs fitted wouldn't it just cough, splutter and cut out (if moved/rev'd obviously)?
-
Identify my bits!
This is what jumped out straight away at me, if the MAF has been removed but no MAP sensor/programmable engine management fitted (along with no recirc's/bov's) then wouldn't that go some way to explain why it potentially is a non-runner?

ive just been a complete dickhead
I didn't drive it but two years ago I half filled my freelander TD4 with unleaded, I realised after about £40 worth. I ended up getting it picked up on the back of a trailer and the guys in my old works drained the tank easily done when you're bouncing from car to car day in, day out Not sure which is worse, diesel in a petrol or petrol in a diesel? good luck bud

Well, i did it. I bought one..
Good luck bud....you do realise that you'll probably get bored of 500bhp at some stage though and then.......

Well, i did it. I bought one..
The thing I really liked about driving GTR's (both 32's and 33's; I've never driven a 34 or 35) was the feeling that it wasn't lulling me into a false sense of security. The zed on the other hand I find has a tendency to behave up to a point and then quite rapidly reminds you that you're driving a powerful RWD car with little more than your own reactions to keep you in a straight line... Good choice you've made there, and yeah sell the beemers' and build yourself something special :thumbup1:
-
Well, i did it. I bought one..
yep, and no doubt it'll cost you a lot less to get your GTR to 'beast' status than it would a zed

Well, i did it. I bought one..

Fitting LWB side skirts to a SWB?
Has anybody on here ever '*******ised' a pair of LWb side skirts to fit a SWB? I'm not keen on the SWB Veilside type skirts and the questionable Polish versions that are available on ebay from time to time, so I was wondering, how hard/easy/costly would it be to re-work a pair of LWB skirts to fit a shortie'?
-
Greddy fmic
Anybody?
-
Greddy fmic
Tomorrow I'm replacing the single Blitz air filter that's on the shortie' with a HKS twin induction setup and I'll admit that I'm tempted to fit the Stillen front bumper and Greddy 3 row fmic off the LWB whilst I'm at it. I believe it's still running stock turbos with nothing more (that I can see) than aftermarket downpipes, decat straight through exhaust. It pulls like no other TT zed that I've driven so they might not be stock turbos?? If they are stock tubs that are fitted, what detremental effects could I expect to see from fitting a big fmic whilst still running stock turbos (increased lag etc)? In order to aid cooling (current weather aside) I've already fitted a Koyo rad and Arc oil cooler, vented nose panel and vented bonnet. just wondering?? cheers
-
eBay FMIC's - Any good?
'Monster' used to run an autobahn fmic when he had a zed and that was making 600 brake, so can't be too shoddy

Decent Diesel Estate cars???
Vauxhall Vectra 1.9TD, outstanding car. We had one as a work runabout and it's still going strong with 150k on the clock. My mate recently sold his VXR8 and replaced it with a Vectra, not exactly in the same league but still reliable, spacious and torquey'

SOLD 450bhp ish zx. (testing the water) SOLD
I like the look of that, it's a bit different from the norm' and for two grand you can't really complain. Assuming it's tidy underneath, that'll be a tidy buy for someone good luck with the sale bud

has my head gasket gone
^^^^^ there's always a silver lining in every cloud.....or is that big hole in bank balance? TT zed engines are pretty cheap these days though, good luck mate

I Won!!!!
That's nothing I bought one of those scratch card lotto thingys from the corner shop the other day and after scratching off the three silver panels it said that I'd won £250,000........now I'm not stupid, I know those things are just a rip off as my wife keeps telling me, so I threw it in the bin stupid scratch cards won't catch me out!

Which is the right clutch cover?
I'm a bit confused at the moment, I need a new Exedy clutch cover and Z1 have said that they can supply but here's the problem: Pic 1 is the Exedy twin plate clutch that I have for a 300zx TT Pic 2 is the Exedy twin plate clutch cover that Z1 stock and Pic 3 is the Exedy twin plate clutch cover that is available on Ebay any suggestions as to where to get one from; Exedy won't supply spare parts for some reason?

Replacing the starter motor
I've heard that a proper VM can change a complete brake setup, clutch and flywheel and starter motor in about 40 minutes with only two brews in between.......personally I reckon that's b*****ks (probably more like 3 brews!) but always willing to be proven wrong! :whistling:
-
Replacing the starter motor
15 minutes if he's a decent VM......or so I've heard :tt2:
-
Replacing the starter motor
Yeah I think I know what you mean bud, and I'm 99% certain I've stripped it off it took all of 10 minutes to whip it off, so if the reverse is about the same then all is good, just got to see if I've still got it cheers matey
