What's daftest thing you've done this week?
Well ok so it wasn't this week but thought I'd share it with you I picked up a van from work to move some of my kit and thought that I'd pop upstairs and have a chat with the guys that I used to work with, so I parked up in the boss man's parking space thinking, 'it'll be fine as I'll only be five minutes' so I left the engine running and ran upstairs I got a bit distracted shall we say..... anyway, the following morning I'm back upstairs and chatting with the guys again when somebody walked into the office and says 'do you guys know anything about the white Sprinter van parked in the bosses spot, he's asking about it' It was then that I realised that after I finished chatting to me ex colleagues the day before, I'd left and gone down a different stairwell, jumped into 'my' car and headed home! I'd only gone and left the bloody van, with the engine running, in the bosses parking space over night!! I ran downstairs and sure enough, it was still running doh!!

Accusump in a SWB....where to fit it????
Cheers fellas that's sorted then

Accusump in a SWB....where to fit it????
If the length of the hoses didn't matter too much then it could go in the boot, but I'm not entirely sure how the extra few feet of hose would effect it? It's got me stumped that's for sure

Accusump in a SWB....where to fit it????
Too small believe it or not, it's a big old pump mate

Accusump in a SWB....where to fit it????
I've come across an unexpected problem, where the hell are you supposed to fit an Accusump in a SWB? It wasn't a problem with a LWB as there's plenty of room behind the seats (and there was no passenger seat anyway) but in the shortie' with both seats fitted, there's bugger all room. There's no room behind the seats as the cage needs to go in there, so the only place that I can see is either in the boot or on the small shelf directly behind the seats, though the braided hoses would need to be rediculously long and surely the Accusump would need to be as close to the engine/sandwich plate as possible Using the shelf would cause other problems in that the cage and harnesses get in the way, and I need this shelf to fit the extinguisher short of binning the lift up arm rest in the centre and locating it there I can't think where to put it any ideas??

wat would u go for??????
Definately quality of the welds, but also quality of materials (in most cases), quality of the core, R&D, fitment, warranty and customer service I had a informative conversation with Wallace Performance in Scotland quite a while back and they explained in a lot of detail why they sell the ETS fmic the only reason I didn't go for the ETS option in the end is because Andy Ish' offered me a very good deal on his Greddy 3 row fmic Take a look at the ETS and Wallace Performance websites mate, they are very reasonably priced http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=300zx%20ets%20intercooler&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCQQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.extremeturbosystems.com%2FETS-Nissan-90-96-Z32-300zx-Intercooler-Kit.html&ei=n8cJT6KRDtTY8QOG--CwAQ&usg=AFQjCNGjFSdav7bPm_PS2yKUGxNwift05Q they used to have a link showing a video of the manufacturing process, I'll see if I can dig it out

what you reading
Pretty much impossible to beat 'Band of Brothers' I reckon loads of Brit actors and extras in it as well (and Saving private Ryan), which is nice to see, shame they're all playing Americans though there are a couple of ex squaddies in it with speaking parts, I knew two of them, the McS**en brothers (both ex 1RGJ) If I remember correctly Rory got a nice little scene as the Easy Company radio op who tries calling in mortar fire against a load of German tanks :tank: but it turned out that his American accent "All Easy stations, all Easy stations!" was so crap that they dubbed him out and used an American voice over instead! If the Pacific is half as good, it'll be epic
-
what you reading
I've still got to get around to watching The Pacific DVD box set, I bought it early last year and have never gotten around to watching it

what you reading
Squaddie is definately worth a read but I'll warn you now bud, although Steve Mac was a genuinely nice guy, he was a bit of a strange fish and was basically a civillian in green (or desert) kit, who joined the Army in memory of his brother (formerly 2RGJ). He kept a diary of every single day that he served and this is where the book comes from It's not gritty in the sense of a lot of the more recent (and justified) Afghan accounts but it's worth reading for the poetic licence alone To be fair he'd make a brew in the naffi sound like a firefight in Sangin If you want gritty then there are plenty of Afghan books out there now, 'Man Down' by Mark Ormrod is a real rollercoaster of emotion. If I remember correctly the other two that I read a few years back now were '3 Para' and '3 Commando Brigade'; 3 Cdo Bde is again quite emotional I've literally just started reading 'Dead Men Risen' an account of the Welsh Guards on tour. and definately one for your list, which is a bit older, is 'No Mean Soldier' by Peter Mcaleese

what you reading
I've just quickly googled them and they look pretty interesting, apart from Band of Brothers, Pegasus Bridge and Paddy Mayne, I haven't really read many WWII books so might give these a go

BEETs abflug kit - Car.mad input please
Might be cheaper to just go and pick up a tidy white zed rather than change your current one

what you reading
What, a Pratchet stamp or Rowling stamp?

BEETs abflug kit - Car.mad input please

what you reading
Could be worth keeping hold of, you never know. Aren't signed 1st editions of JK Rowlings books worth quite a bit now?

what you reading
There were quite a few written about the whole B20 shenanigans', I'd avoid the one by Michael Asher (the TA guy) 'The real B20', although I would suggest that what he has written is closer to the reality of what actually took place, but the guy is a plank! The other B20 type book was written by the Kiwi guy (can't remember his name) it's called 'Soldier Five', he tries to put the record straight with regards to Vince P getting slated in 'The one that got away' I've never met the guy but the Kiwi community is pretty tight in the military and he's apparently a good bloke so worth a read if you've already read B20 and The one that got away A more recent book is Task Force Black by Mark Urban, again an interesting read with near current input so in my opinion, it over steps the mark in a number of areas...though MoD did authorise its release? or if you want a bit of humerous reading (just look at the pictures), I'll lend you a copy of 'Squaddie' by Steve Mcglaughlin. He was one of my riflemen years ago in Iraq and NI. I actually get a few mentions in the book. I've got shelves full of 'em mate so any time you want to borrow any, give me a shout

what you reading
Yes mate, I read that a fair few years back now, that's the one by the author who went on Shakey selection straight after passing out of Lympstone isn't it? Quite a good book if I remember correctly

what you reading
I'm not a big fan of military fiction stuff written by twedle dum and tweedle dumber if I'm honest, though 7 Troop is an excellent read I would highly recommend that you read 'Freefall' by Tom Read mate (aka Nish Bruce ex B Sqn). It's not your usual run of the mill military/bio book, but in my opinion is possibly one of the best books ever written. Try not to google or read up on the author before reading Freefall, just buy it, read it and then read 7 Troop straight afterwards I can lend you a copy if you can't find it bud
