New PM
Finally a PM who believes in Great Britain! He should have been made PM in 2016 and spared us the agony and humiliation of the dreadful failure of May's tenure. To paraphrase her Lancaster house speech "No Theresa May is better than a bad Theresa May"

Does it still work? It's a great piece of kit, really well built and sounds superb. Bit old school now for an MP3 player but it runs Linux, and you can change the way the player functions which is fun!

No, I've just got into the habit of not leaving the keys in the ignition when the car is up in the air on axle stands (this time to make it easier to fit the pinstripe). Leaving them on the floor seems the best place.

50 years to the day - 20th July 1969 "Tranquillity base here, the Eagle has landed". This lovely photo has a story of its own: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/techandscience/first-clear-picture-of-neil-armstrongs-face-while-walking-on-moon-uncovered/ar-AAEAa3i?li=BBoPWjQ&item=personalization_enabled%3Afalse

So many photos available from the Apollo 11 mission, but one of my favourites is this one of Buzz Aldrin was taken by Neil Armstrong in 1969, aboard the Apollo 11 Lunar Module just before they landed on the surface of the moon. They were conducting pre-landing checks and the excitement they must have been feeling is clearly visible in Aldrin’s face. What a moment!

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue
Got the car all back together just in time for the AGM weekend. Took my time to fully clean all the interior trim and feed the leather seats and armrests. All rubber door, targa and tailgate seals removed, cleaned and reconditioned. New exterior trims fitted to the windscreen, roof and doors. The 99spec headlights are great addition to the car and I will now be able to see properly when driving at night! There are a few things to sort out but the car is mostly there and I am really pleased with the results. The new paintwork will be machine polished in due course to get a really good base for a ceramic coating which apparently works especially well with darker metallic colours. For now it is being protected with some Autoglym Ultra HD Wax. The light at the AGM weekend wasn't particularly good in the first two pictures, but you get the drift. The last one is back home in the afternoon sun.

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
How is Mitch measuring concentricity between valve seats and guides in degrees rather than the thou used in the description you linked?

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
4° or 0.4°? 4° is a huge error.

Temp gauge stuck!?
See if the border of the needle (arrowed) is catching. There is not much gap between it and the inner ring surface.

Temp gauge stuck!?
The harness connectors on the back of the gauge panel have all been correctly seated?

which fuel
Welcome and thanks for suporting the Club! If your car is a TT then go for your favourite premium (98 ron) fuel. Personally I use Shell V-Power. Post up some details of your new Zed. We would love to see what you have bought.

That's a shame, but come anyway. You will have to make sure the car is ready by the 28th July for Simply Japanese at Beaulieu!

Tyre sizes
I don't think you will have a problem going to 255/40 tyre on a 8.5J rim. The 245/40 is a guideline. It's worth bearing in mind that from my experience the actual appearance of the tyre wall (the degree of stretch or bulge) for the same tyre size when mounted on the same rim width varies between manufacturers.
-
Tyre sizes
245/40x18 is the optimum tyre width and profile on 8.5Jx18 rims and will closely match the original rolling diameter of the stock wheels.

That's a great pity Nick. Is it just transport that is stopping you from attending?
