  1. You can use bolts as long as you like, as long as you have plenty of decent sized washers to pack it out mate.... That's what i did anyways....
  2. I found the mayfair quickstep to be the most efficient.... :)
  3. good stuff mate, and sorted a few other things out on the way, always a bonus!
  4. Oooh, does anyone know of a write up on changing the resistor? I've got the same problems, I only need to know which one and what to change it to really....
  5. hahaha, lol, cheers, summet else to deffo bung on my to-do list, which thankfully is finally getting quite short!
  6. Happy Birthday matey!!!! :) :) :)
  7. Okies, cheers, that might explain why all the paint has peeled off behind the rear wheels, with water etc. splashing on it after it was sprayed (before i bought it), that's what i'll do then, gonna go for a uk bumper i think, so i've got the fog lights incorporated, and to confuse people :)
  8. i used carb cleaner and a bog brush from the pound shop to get as much of the cack i could out of it :)
  9. thanks madmax, but is that the only way to do it, i don't really mind the original finish, just couldn't see how to prep it because of the texture, i don't mind doing it tho if it'll look better, anyone got any pictures of a smooth one?
  10. thanks mate, and yeah, still got that stuff on the sides... i think i'll buy a sander (after i've bought a bumper of course) but due to the lack a female companion at the mo, i'd probably make quick work of it by hand, haha :xxx::xxx:
  11. Hi guys, just after picking your brains... I could do with a new rear bumper, seeing as i am getting the car up to tip top condition, just wondering if there are any body shop geezers out there who can tell me what the best way to prep it for spraying is, as it has that orange peelish stippled effect on the bottom half, obviously wet n dry wont do it.... Cheers, front bumper arrives in the morning, woo!:thumbup:
  12. i relocated mine mate, been fine since, probably the easiest option, there's a thread or a sticky on here somewhere, some people will say it's better to bypass it, but i'd rather still have the sensor....
  13. have you replaced the bearing shells, and have you got 'running in' oil in it?
  14. you need to pop the metal clip off first mate, but try not to lose it!
  15. i made a bung for the prop shaft end so oil didin't p*ss out when it was at an angle...
  16. if...... have you tried it yet?
  17. I didn't do anything with the neutral switch, but she was running really poorly, until i asked on here, didn't realise the timing was out by 10 degrees! set it to 15 at idle and fully warmed up, and hey presto, rocket!
  18. I did this mod, then after legrath's advice, which i holy trust and makes sense, i put it back to normal....
  19. Hahaha, you know what i mean mate, haha, i was humping the block about for ages, to and fro, and that was bad enough! :turned:
  20. that should be fine mate, i think the engine only weighs about 250 kg ish....
  21. don't get any on the paint work!
  22. I always do it that way, don't trust marks on the belt! (duno why, guess that's how i was taught...) never had any problems with any engines.... yet, haha....... :)
