ALC 1 or 2? How do you tell the difference?
What is the ALC I/II? :confused1: sorry for being retarded...

engine knocking
If it is just shells, then i'm sure you can just support the engine, remove the cross member, and drop the sump, but you wont really be able to examine the crank very well, and if it is cream crackered, then it's engine out anyways...

Timing solenoid
I'm not sure mate, can't say I've ever heard of it, but that doesn't mean anything! Have you tried it with them unplugged? I think that would be safe to do, but better wait and see if anyone confirms that...

Timing solenoid
do you mean the 2 solenoids (VVT) on the back of each intake cam cover, with the whiteish braided cover on the wires? As far as i know, the solenoids are identical, only difference being the length of the wires...

Thanks mate, is the EGR not working detrimental to the engines performance?

bottom cam belt pulley
it's only a paper gasket behind the oil pump, so not very exspensive, I'd personally change it, it's cheap, and you may as well do it whilst your down there, but it's up to you pal...

bottom cam belt pulley
I used a grinder on mine then split it, you only need a tiny crack in it to free it, my engine was out at the time, as said above, don't loose the woodruff key, i think the new crank sprocket was about 38 quid from nissan...

Egr/aiv...
I've fitted a new loom for a LHD, and can't seem to get the plugs for the AIV's to reach, however, they are no longer in use as they are bunged up on the exhaust, so leaving the plugs off wont make any difference? And, there is another plug, i'm pretty sure it's for the EGR solenoid, which i can't seem to find, so i have 2 grey 2 pin square connectors, and 1 black 2 pin square connector, which i presume is for the EGR solenoid, what would be the consequences of leaving them disconnected? EGR is still in place by the way... Cheers...

film it matey! ;)- intermittant cylinder loss
Have you tried your new spark plug yet? Could well be that, I've had the same thing.... But if you have, then sorry I'm not much help!- Happy New Year!!!
Hey guys (and gals), just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year, and all the best, and give a massive thankyou for the immeasurable amount of help and advice you have all given me this year! Thanks y'all!!!!- Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
I 'think' i heard a while ago, that if you disconnect the auto box ecu, that effects the power steering?- steering issue, help asap please!!!1
you got one hell of a sense of humour mate! :)- Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
well said groover....- Power steering prob, checked the usual culprits, what next?
As far as know mate, the kph/mph converters are prone to problems, that'd probably be the first thing i would change, they're pretty cheap too i think... HTH...- Will N/A manual gearbox fit in TT??? Please?
I think the speed sensor is the same, but the cog on the end of the shaft is different, although i might be wrong! :)- Intermittent cylinder loss?
yep, i had that with my old loom too......- Intermittent cylinder loss?
haha, nowt wrong with a few beers mate :) i doubt that method will do much good, i'm afraid it's gonna be a remove each connector, inspect, and clean kinda job, might as well do them all, tedious, but necessary.... the coil packs are the six black square-ish things with 2 bolts holding each one in, and about an inch wide oval connector in each one, they go to the spark plugs (via the coil packs), and in front of them you'll find the injectors with smaller square connectors, just be sure to pop of the metal clip on the injector connectors, and be very gentle, no doubt they are very brittle by now.... you'll need to scrape any gunk off the metal contacts on the connectors, i'm sure there'll be a write up or thread on here for the methods etc.... HTH, i've had a few beers too, hahaha...- what is the problem?
Have you got a kph converter on it?- Intermittent cylinder loss?
yep, i'd agree with Quavey, coil pack connector, or possibly an injector connector, but likely to be a connector anyways! :)- Length of cams. asap pls if you can.
i've just put my cam cover back on after sorting the oil leak out! :( - zx tt vs supra m3 turbo
