  1. Half of guiness and half of cider, called a poor man's black velvet, pain in the arse to pur, but it's pretty tasty, champagne and guiness is a full fat black velvet....
  2. I would like an oil temp gauge, but got the other three in the DIN slot, so I've got no-where to stick it (no suggestions please:) )
  3. it's the only way to learn mate, get stuck in, you'll pi55 it and be chuffed when it's done :)
  4. tis true, they are not the best, they don't rise as fast as the engine temperature if something dire happens, but as his is dropping down when he boots it, that sugests to me that as the engine moves under load, there is a dodgy connection, the gauge is losing it's signal, dropping down, then when let off, the engine moves back and it re-connects. I also have an aftermarket gauge tho, boost, water temp and oil pressure are a bit of a must really me thinks :)
  5. check the connections/wiring on the 2 sensors on you top metal water pipe coming out of the front of the engine to the top of the radiator, one of them is the sensor for the gauge (always forget which one), one has a spade connector riveted to the top of it, check that isn't loose, if it is, a flattened nail or something similar and a few taps with a hammer should tighten it up, but check the plugs too for any green crusty gunk and clean off... may help...
  6. Hey hey! Every cloud and all that matey! Happy times... :)
  7. ahhh, just noticed you have a UK, so you have the UK holder plastic jobby, not too sure then, probably the same applies, but don't know as i haven't got one...! You might be able to get a replacement from someone on here?
  8. if you can get the bumper flush, so no bracket is sticking out, (I removed mine and filled the holes when I was spraying it) you can stick your plate on with double sided foam sticky pads, works a treat, and looks much neater, no screw holes etc...
  9. 7.5 outta 10 for me... worth a watch!
  10. are, i see alan, there are some good things like that out there like that i guess...
  11. your not alone mate :) That additive stuff is also aimed at boy racers, thinking they can get and extra 100 BHP out of the 1.1 fiesta populars for a fiver :) I do use the occasional engine flush, and have used injector cleaner once ages ago and it didn't do anything noticeable, still had to clean them myself...
  12. Terrible news! Sad times, why does life have such a way of kicking people up the arse... The thought did cross my mind when you were talking about some core plugs popping out, i take it the big freeze did it? :(
  13. you could also get some clear side repeaters for the rear bumper and stick a couple of amber leds in as side indicators...
  14. I tried sillycoon but it didn't go off for an age, or maybe i was too impatient :) So, where the clips go on the strip, I got some bolts, ground the heads to a square so they slotted into where the clips go, and drilled holes in the boot, popped the bolts through then tightened them with a nut from the inside of the boot, bit fiddly and had to drill a couple of holes where the bolts came through so i could get a 10mm box spanner in, but it works perfect, uses all the anchor points, much stronger than the clips, perfect snug fit, and can be easily removed at anytime :)
  15. No idea mate, but I quite like that, have you got any pictures with the whole car on? if you get one, i think car.mad should get moulding :)
  16. and as above (didn't see that post) the adjuster could be broken, as said very common, need to remove the light to replace anyways...
  17. It'll be the dirt insider the projector/glass, you'll never get a nice defined beam if they are dirty, there's an FAQ on removing and cleaning them makes a mahooosive difference mate, bit awkward to get em off, but well worth doing... HTH.

  19. to me, red wine just tastes like sucking on an old cork, that mixed with coke would be like sucking on a stale mouldy cork that'd been dipped in coke.......... nah...!
  20. I made my own jobby as I didn't fancy them being set back.... Took a couple of attempts but got it right eventually...
  21. i couldn't unscrew mine from the exhaust, so i cut them right back, and did exactly the cut, fold and weld! just make sure it looks neat, or a nobbish MTO guy might winge... I didn't have those in the wing tho, (i had to buy a new exhaust centre section which had those pipes on, my old one didn't) but follow em through and remove accordingly i think?
  22. you could just stick a cruise control button on there so it looks like you've got it to neaten up the pod? Quick question too, my rear fog has a tell tale switch, the fogs wont work without the lights on, but only the sidelights, does it have to be so they only come on when dips are on?
  23. the goverment froze the tax on it for the first 4 years, not many people new that, and once the 4 years was up, then can put the price up as much as they want, as they are doing, this rise is only the tip of the iceberg... ****ers.
