  1. The trim peice is the same (if by that you mean is the square hole where the auto lever was), you just need the gator and the rest of the gear stick assembly... The bell housing bolts are different, manual : http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=mt&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=6&design=default&total=37 Auto : http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=at&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=97&design=default&total=194 Using that guide, and by looking at the gearbox to get the correct length of unthreaded shank, and an auto bolt for the thread, I went to my local nuts and bolts specialist and bought what I needed... I think some of them are the same, so you might not need them all, but it cost me under a fiver for 8.8 HT bolts the right sizes.... HTH...
  2. the manual ECU isn't necessary, but seing as you have it, and the balance is good if you get one, but just as easy and good to T into the vacuum feed for the brake servo...
  3. if you do all that, it'll be worth keeping mate! I do feel your pain tho, they can be a serious downer, sleep on it and weigh up your options matey, if you can do the/some of the work your self, it ain't so bad....
  4. Wear and tear I guess mate, things wear out, and who knows how it has been driven and looked after in the past
  5. You can do the bottom end without lifting the engine, but means dropping the front subframe to drop the sump, not much fun, to be honest, for not that much more work, best off lifting the engine and there is so much more other things you can do whilst it is out. Hmmmm, crank damage, it's possible, it does sound pretty nasty....
  6. Big end no doubt, and it's bad, really bad, do not drive it, rev it, or even run it!!!!!!!! Re-build time i'm afraid, or engine transplant. Man, that noise made me cringe!!!
  7. mines better :)
  8. I'm well chuffed with mine, looks awesome at night :)
  9. I would chop it off.......... No time for them me personally, would do it in a heart beat and face the consequences later, (which would be criminal damage BTW)... Depending on the size of the company, they may not follow it up... http://www.techsupportforum.com/relaxation-room/offline/7640-clamp-man-superclamp-uk.html
  10. I'm loving this, it's more of a satin black than matt black, has a slight shine to it, very tasty....
  11. eating a couple of bananas in the morning really helps me, allthough it is a bit like eating someone elses flem when your dog rough, but they are full of energy, natural sugars, and lots of potassium, which is the main salt you loose with a hangover.... or just drink more beer.
  12. The dental hospital had to speak to the NHS and get some kind of grant for 100 grand (truth) to do all my work, I wouldn't have to pay because I was born with it, only for them to feck it all up and say I might have to have over dentures instead, i also would need to have my jaw dislocated, and bone grafts from my hip to fettle my jaw line where my front middle bottom teeth go, apperantly very very painful, madness...!
  13. and believe it or not, one just chipped 30 seconds ago! honest! sensitive as sh1te, marvellous.... balls to it, having a beer :)
  14. aaarrggh, dentists, I've been more times than anyone (manchester university dental hospital), most of my adult teeth never appeared, very rare case, got pictures of my mouth in loads of text books for university students, still got loads of baby teeth and some really bizzarre ones, (what is left of them) and I'm 27! Have had braces since being a little kid, most of them pulled out, caps, some filed down, you name it, and all they ever did was leave me with less teeth that ache 24 hours a day and eating is hard work...! had a back tooth removed not long back that was a baby tooth, which the roots had fused to my jaw bone because it had been in there since a toddler, now that was a barsteward to get out i'm tellin ya!
  15. a new loom was the best thing i ever bought, not cheap, but such a good investment....
  16. i only mean from cold, when it's been stood overnight etc.... once warm, the only thing i can think of is condomsation building up in the exhaust, but i would still give the odd rev and fettle...
  17. iirc the hole (currently, may have to if drilling it, i wouldn't tho) doesn't go all the way through to the inner chamber, so no burr would fall through...
  18. i got a cylinder head spark plug hole helicoiled a bit back (after the plug blew out of it's hole, went straight through the carbaerretor and stuck in my garage roof!) and it was only 14 quid, but the head was taken off the car to do it....
  19. mine was stripped when i got the car, I found a slightly larger bolt with the same pitch thread, and very gently got it quite tight, but helicoiling the best way, not sure it could be done with the plenum in situ, perhaps some places would tho...
  20. (that was regarding starting it from cold, i.e. overnight for instance as the oil has drained out of the oilways back to the sump, plus the oil will be thicker too)
  21. the oil pump is only running as fast as the engine, so the top end can get starved of oil, i.e. not enough pressure to push it up top, I'm in the same boat, I leave a window open, and when I start her I just let it sit about 2500 rpm or 3000 till warmed up, with the odd bit of a rev to break things up a bit, then when warmed up, i'm happy to let her run for a bit, with the odd rev and fettle, that's what i do anyways.... hth.
  22. 17 : leanne rymes, how do i live, 98?
