bumper comparison
Carl if you do mod the Viper make the cooler openings more square and not all rounded. I personally think that the ABflug bumper (bellow) is the best but I couldn't get hold of one for less than a grand at the time so I made mine from a Veilside front end

TT drivers: what (water) temperature do you turn your ignition off?
Thats the baby Used it loads of times on older cars. You really see a temp difference. Works brill in ya central heating system as well.

TT drivers: what (water) temperature do you turn your ignition off?
Yep it really is that simple. Usually a 4.5 ltr will more than do. Get the long life Glycol (Pink sometimes Yellow) and it should be 70% Glycol to 30% water. when I descaled my car and flushed it through 3 times I just put pure glycol in as there was water in the block after flushing. It sure cured my over heating problems during the summer months.

Stiff ride.
More comon reason for the car skipping sideways is that when the car has been lowered the toe has not been ajusted correctly. I was only having this conversation with John Dixon this morning as my car has been a real handful after having work done and then being poorly set up. The front castor was only half a degree out on one side and three quater of a degree out on the other, but it made her tramline and change direction everytime I hit a bump. The steering also felt vague even on the motorway. reset the front and rear toe and caster. The difference is unbelievable. Car really feels solid and very predictable.

Have you got a proper Temp Gauge? A good one so you really know what temp your actually reaching. What kind of rad do you have if its a standard rad does it need flushing. If your car is a UK auto and rad is crudded up you really will see temps climb as the gearbox oil cooler flows through the rad. Take under tray off and drop bottom hose of and blast the rad through with hose pipe. Then put it back on and you can buy a descaler. Fenox central heating system flush workes just as well. Bang it in and run car up to temp and let it run for about 20 mins. Then let it out and fill with water and run again let it out and same again so as to get rid of any flush. Top up with Glycol and way to go. If it is crudded up you'll see a major difference.

met grey wide bodied zeds...
No there had to be 20 dimentional changes so the lights would only add up to one. I must say though looking at your car the arches do look very true to the original. I bet that is more to the good workmanship of who ever fitted the kit though. "Your car does look good and not too wide".(thats my opinion) Did you that the original strosek tail gate skin was different to yopurs too. The part that is the original skin where the OEM spoiler used to fit is the spoiler on the strosek and the new skin from the rear glass slopes down and leaves a gap under the original skin. I'll try find a pic. There's one on there website but I carn't cpoy and paste it http://www.strosek.de Click on full site then classics then 300ZX then description and all 300ZX pics come up.

North West Events Ideas
Three sisters is always booked and not as good as Matt track near Oswestry, but that is not a patch on the Circuit near Cerrigydrudion on tha A5. this is a proper FIA kart circuit. IT's up hill and down dale, loads of bends, twice as big as 3 Sisters and the 400cc twin engined karts they have for arrive and drive are well maintained and will get up to 80mph on the straits which feels real fast with your arse 2" from the tarmac. This would mean all the boys from the real druid out posts could make it too. P.S now where near as far as Tan Hill.

wake up USA ... listen to robin LMFAO
Now then boys. I know what Chris is saying and understand his perspective, but it's not the people or the soldiers on the front line. If they were trained better and their comanders weren't having to march to politicians tunes, who like all politicians the world over only care about public opinion and there next election. Just look at our boys sent out yet again to fight a war without enough kit, men or air support because our politicians are doing the same. 90% of Yanks I've met are sound, which I would say is about average for any nationallty I've been exposed to. I'd rather have an imagration problem with Americans than people of totally allien cultures who make no atempt to learn our language or intergrate. Who take the protection of our state for themselves to prosper them march up and down shouting death to us all etc. Give me Americans first anyday.

I,m Ready For Donnington ....
:o :o :headvswal Well I'll have to start looking in National events in future won't I :smash: Ah its Japfest!! that why I thought it was a track day. I've seen the standard of some of the driving at these events and wouldn't really like the idea of being removed from the track by some halfwitt in a Sooby who thinks he can brake from 120mph in 80 feet. Been there on my TZ Pagett 400 Yamaha and I still limp on cold days and he like wise thinks of me and my explanation of inertia every time he cleans his front dentures. Make sure you take track day insurance out.

no flow through oil cooler
Lymon is bang on the numbers mate and I'd just like to add acouple of things to that 1) the standard gauges arn't very accurate as arn't cheep gauges. Delfi are about the cheepest of the good quality gauges. A water temp cost about £35 from tweeks a water/ oil temp combo gauge is about £45 Oil presure about the same, but then you'll need a sandwich plate (I have a Greddy sandwich plate for sale £20) 2) Your oil should be about 5 to 10 degrees higher than the water temp, but when giving it some serious stick your oil can reach as High as 110 C but should drop quite quickly once you return normal road speeds. Get accurate water temp readings first then oil pressure. Once you really know what going on then there's plenty of us hear who help you through. Remember though even the most minor details of info will help. Because what ever problems you have someone else here will have had it and sorted it.

no flow through oil cooler
You aint having much luck are you? I would guess that it is your oil presure regulator that is the cause. What oil presure are you registering and do you have an aftermarket Gauge? The regulator valve will only open at 4.5 bar and if your oil is old ie 6000 miles +, if your big ends are worn or the engine is just getting tired. First check what your oil presure is and get the oil changed. If the car has done more than 60K miles and you do not know the servicing intervals prior to you owning then try a heavier grade oil. What mileage has your car done and what oil do you use?

met grey wide bodied zeds...
Well Pete maybe its because I was a Technical illustrator for years, but I have a kean eye for these things. I think there's also an elliment of who fits em as well. I know you did Ians and touleqoc's (carnt remember his name now) Both nice jobs I might add, but Wasn't Touleqoc's a Zcentre kit? and Ian's a Paul Bailey? As far as I was awhere Paul Bailey made copy kits under licence to Strosek, but had to make a number of small changes and that other copies must have at least 20 dimensional changes to avoid prosecution under copy write law. Points of difference I noticed are, The trailing edge of the rear wheel arch leads further away from the wheel on copy kits, leaving a larger gap. Copy kits are wider, they also curve in more from top to bottom leaving more tyre face exposed like the old AC Cobras. This also means that the side skirt of the copies isn't as curved to pronounce the shape of the sill, then the curve of the original Strosek is smooth and convex from the upper edge of the wing to the wheel arch, The copies all seem to start concave then move to a sharper covex curve making the arch look more pronounced, the indicators on the front bumper on the original lift slightly at the outer edges the copies are all horizontal. The original is more understated. Biggest thing I have found with original kits and copies is that originals fit perfectly and need almost very little preping. I've had genuine Veilside parts and Wings West and I've had Lukes. (don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Luke) The stuff he makes are a fraction of the price of the genuine and reasonable quality, but slightly different to the genuine kit. Usually more accentuated. Just my opinion but I think sometimes this take away too much from the lines of the car.

power steering / Hicas oil cooler
I wouldn't bother with a small oil cooler as it would just cause airflow restriction. Just byepass it. Better to aim for HICA removal as it really has to be tip top and bang on to be of any worth. That means all subframe bushes replaces, New HICAS rod ends, new hub bushes new HICAS cooler and new rear toe arms. Even then its no good for racing or seriously hard driving as it creats too much instability and rear end break away. Only any good for long fast sweepers.
