Started the car today and had lots of smoke.

Never had smoke before and the car has not used any oil.

Also passed MOT on friday, the smoke smell's like a BBQ.

Just drove car home 70miles and smoke was still there (not there on tick over).

When i got to a friends last night no smoke and i was getting stuff out of the boot with it on.

any idears???

Could it be the PCV valve?? 90% of the smoke is from the left (Near side). the cats are still in, never out as far as i know, turbo's have done about 25K. I have no loss of power

could be PCV could also be O2 sensor, as mine was

or it could be cheap tesco charcole, i got a lot of smoke with that but blinding burgers

your getting smoke out of your boot? :smash: need to extend what yur saying and be a bit more precise, if your car smells of BBQ you need to check under the rear panels for a couple of Rastafrian counterparts :)

no what im saying is there was no smoke when i got out of the car the night before (boot and zorst are both at back of car) but when i started it the next day blue smoke that after 2 mins went to white.

its possible you might have a slight turbo seal leak on that side and over night a bit of oil is leaking out which is then being burnt off as exhuast heats up, the white smoke could just be condensation as its starting to get damp at night now. could also be slight leak on a valve guide seal. Still dont quite understand what the boot has to do with it "(boot and zorst are both at back of car)" ?

i think he means that he had to go to the boot (at the back of the car) and there wasnt any smoke (he still had the car running). that was last night but this morning he's got smoke.

as for the problem, i have no idea unless an unlucky small animal crawled up the left pipe in the night and got stuck, only to be toasted this morning hence the bbq smell.

otherwise its a Z so could be turbo seals, headgasket, lambda sensor, PCV's and about another dozen things that will make it smoke. sounds daft but it could even be a dead catalyst?

good luck anyhow.

si.

It's a red one i'm only a 2min wolk from the ymca. i may take you up on that just dont want to drive with all this smoke, my number is 078138 27935 if you call ill call back

Is the car a UK spec. If so just check thst the pipes or where the pipes conect to the diff cooler haven't corroded and dumped diff oil on your exhaust. If it's a jap spec you aint got one.

Been under the car today and i think the N/side turbo has gone.

Does anyone know what price i'm lookung at for new turbo's fitted?

Could i change just the one?

it would not be cost effective to just change one, as idealy you want the engine out. a pair of turbos fitted your looking at £1500 +
