power steering / Hicas oil cooler
Your talking about the vert small one that looks like a block with vertical cooling fins and sits on the Cross member infront of the aircon rad and behind the oil cooler? If you are you can bin it as the do corrode and if you use Dot 4 ior 5 you shouldn't have any problems. If however your talking about the cooler that is about 3" tall with hotizontal cooling fins then that is the engine oil cooler.

coolant flush and Water Wetter
Aircraft use Glycol because of the extreme low temperatures of altitude and high revelutions of the engine which cause very high temps at low altitude. 70% Glycol increases the boiling temp to about 160 C which means it isn't vaporising in the hotest areas of the engine so it continues to absorb the heat from the heads and block evenly and transfere that heat via the rad core to atmosfere at a similar even rate. If water is trying to vaporise in the engine it becomes more presurised and this creats more friction which inturn generates more heat. I aint a scientist but that seems about right to me and in the owners hand book it clearly states 70% Glycol to 30% water and those little japs know what there doing. No you don't have the engine running. The heater temp is to open the matrix valve so you can flush it out and avoid air locks when refilling. The thermostat will be closed, but it does have a small valve in the top of the flange that lets a small flow through. This is to provent the water jackets building massive presure before the engine reaches temp to open the Thermostat. P.S you'll need the engine running to bleed it.

met grey wide bodied zeds...
Hi Chris The stroseck and is fiberglass but nothing like the copies. Look at the shape of the wheel arches and the conture lines. If you look the copies cut in and expose loads of tread face + they are about 3/4 of and inch wider. The biggest difference is the price. A genuine stroseck kit is 22,000 Euro. About £15,000 fitted and about £9500 just for the kit. I'd say looking at gruntpa64's wheel arches that it looks more like a Paul Bailey like Mac1's and by far the best of the copies, but still a little wider and different profiles.

coolant flush and Water Wetter
Set temp on heater to 40 so as to open through flow. Crack bottom hose off and remove filler cap and drain. Then get an hose pipe in your inlet pipe and flush the whole systen through till only clears water comes out. Do the same with rad. First flush from top via filler cap and then from bottom via return. (better doing this with rad out) Then connect everything back up and fill with pure longlife coolant. The pink stuff which is about 90% glycol and 10% etholyne. This in it's self will reduce your temps but a bottle of WW for good mesure will help. Don't bother with water at all. The glycol will transfere the heat far more efficiently than the water. Infact the Zed should be run on 70% glycol and 30% water in standard tune at all times. Especially in summer. To run without in summer is a seriously risky. This also protects you engine to -50 C. You'll have to bleed the system to get rid of any air bubbles and check and top up for next couple of days possibley. So get 2 4.5 ltr longlife coolants. It's not cheep but a cooked engine is far more expensive.

How would the 2 way track setup perform on the roads?? Would they consider cheeper prices for a group buy order? Have you not got some sitting in the corner of your garage you don't want

met grey wide bodied zeds...
Yep it is nice. It was an NA originally, but it now sports the Jun stroker engine that came out of the car I sold to Leon. Unfortunatley Peter remove the engine before he sold it to me   Your dead right though Leigh. The copy's are completely the wrong shape. Even me who declares hatred for the Stroseck kit can admire that as well balanced.

Amazing art wort..........
That is really nice, but if we all find those aspects better than the concrete lumps he transforms, why do we let the bast*rds keep building crap cheepo buildings and enviroments.

just brought a Z - anyone know the history?
what you say is correct, but which other bunch of useless tossers would you rather see in power. Seems to me they do very little to resolve anything and spend there time blaming everyone who has been before, global economic problems bla bla bla and the market forces (which is code for we'll do fook all and it will some how sort it self out) will save the universe.

Z oil painting: sketch finished
Do you do a wash sketch over your prep drawing first? I find this a great way to add depth as you can apply several quick dring washes before building the detail. Mind you. I always construct the backgound washes in Acrillics for speed (habbit of an ex working Illustrator) and the flatness of the acrillic creats distance against the depth and life of the oils. Be nice to see one of your cars finish :slap:

Look Chaps What is being said by some on here is from experience and not brand snobbery. I had an Ally rad made a few years back. Its a loverly thing and well made and quite a lot better than my old standard rad. It coped with 15 PSI and mappin very well, but as soon as I put bigger Tubs on it couldn't cope with the extra heat generated unless i run without the aircon rad. The fact it is 40% larger that the OEM and looks like a Koyo or a How means fook all. IT's down to the quality of the Core and its ability to transfer heat. The Well know brands spend a lot of time with sponcered cars running different set ups to ensure that the core designs will exchange the heat and retain the correct air flow and presure or water flow depending. That is why generally they are more expensive, because there tested and known to work before there sold. Who make this FM and if they had tested there own cores the wouldn't be trying to sell them of as some body elses coolers. That alone tells me they will not perorm as they should. Just think about it.

new skyline
The Skyline Badge in japan relates to a whole load of Nissans. Most of which are four doored saloons and even estate cars. The Q35 Skyline is in fact a four door version of the G35 Skyline and is exactly the same in appearance to the Q45 which has a VH45 lump in stead of the 3.5 V6 found in the Q35. There was a R35 GTR and Middlehursts sold 3 of them and believe it or not they had the VH45 V8 with a supercharger and rear wheel drive with fancy trick traction contol etc. They looked more like the Veilside G35's in pics P.S. I think with the right kit and wheels they are really smart looking cars where as the Z350 loads like a French Chicken coop. Where as the New GTR looks stunning.
