  1. Been sorting stuff out in my Garage as I'm going to have another engine built from the 2.5 TT engines I've got and noticed that the injectors on my original fuel rail are purpley blue. I always thought the car was quick as it always seemed to have the edge on other standardish Zed's, but I just thought it was my induction, boost controler and skill behind the wheel. The car was registered in November 94 and when i've given the chasis No to a few Dealers theys always said it was one of the cars on the cusp of the changes. So are these just the later style standard injectors and therefore the later rail and lower plenum or are they 555's.
  2. + what type of engine is he offering to by. Some so called 60K low milage just in from Japan oil burning peice of shit from Jap imports, innit. You must insist that it is bought from one of the reputable breakers from this forum. That you have a quote from a same dealer for fitting and that he pay up front for the work to be done or he can come and collect his no good piece of scrap and give you your money back.
  3. Cheers Gregg. At that point I honestly thought abought entering it for an art Exibit.

Unfortunately all the timber and decking board arrive today so thats my weekend, building a new decking. Sorry I'd really have liked to make this one.
  5. I know I told a few people of my plan but here is a peek at what I'll be building over the winter. with a bit of help XTR4 in kit form all ready for next year (trackday monster) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2980339455045998925&q=fifth+gear
  6. Yep Ian we know what a proud f**ker he is, but I aint going to watch him get bashed when he's enough on his plate.
  7. Its a system of small water pipes that run under the plenum and go through your throttle bodies to heat them up. Which really has more to do with assisting Jspec emissions regs that being of any use to performance. Infact it is performance inhibiting and a whole nest of coolant problems as the cars get older. Removal and bypassing these helps with over all cooling and removes a potential problem.
  8. Glad your up and running and I don't mind being wrong so long as its fixed. However a word of warning. If you have a lot of rust in the pipes ie flakey stuff then your likely looking at having to replace the 2 metal pipes to tha matrix at the back of the engine. the two short block returns at the front. All your 8mm water hoses and your rad hoses. I'd also check your pasenger side carpet to see if its dry or damp as this often leads to Heater matrix failure which will then leak into the pasenger footwell. 90% of this is cause by having too little and wrong type coolant in the car. The owners manual stippilates a ratio of 90% Glycol based coolant to 10% water. This increases boiling point to 160 degrees and freezing point to about -50, is anti carosive, lubricates the water pump and most importantly prevents the water system becoming electrostaticly charged. Which is the quickes way to errode all metal components of your cooling system and heater Matrix. The glycol coolants,r also sold as long life and summer coolants are usually Pink or Yellow in colour. The Achohol and Benzene type coolants/anty freeze and generally blue and no good for a Zed. Get the buy pass done and 60K and ask Andy Z to sell you some of the metal pipes I mentioned and wack them on and do the last few 8mm pipe with a lenght of Samco whilst they do the by pass. Solve these problems for as long as you'd ever own the car.
  9. Get it to Ryan for a plenum bypass, the return hoses replaced, the 2 little basta*d hoses on the back of the block replaced and a 60K service and jobs a good'n for the next 60K :D :D :D Still wager it the 2 water jacket returns.
  10. Trust me don't do it yourself or you'll end up with an abortion for sure. Take it to the body shop. Even if that means saving up for a few weeks.
  11. I would almost stake my life on it. You'll find that it is the 2 short hoses that are the return feeds from each block and situated just above the water pump housing. They are basta*ds to get off and they should be replaced with the 60K service, but nearly always aren't. They go brittle and crack. Time to do a full 60K because you don't know what else they have skipped.
  12. His father has the big C and his mother Died a few years back with it so to say he has a few problems is an under statement. I'm going to see him hopefully this week and I'll try have a chat to him, but his head is pretty mullard

    Where ??????
  14. Well I've got Noletech engine mounts but after the artical Lymon posted I'd advise new standard mounts.
  15. I think Thialand is about the only place you'll get one of those these days.
  16. Speek to "Friday" (His name is Leigh) he has contacts for shipping cars into the UK and I think he'd help you and hope he doesn't mind me posting this.
  17. Sorry to say this mate, but when you get them back on the car they'll fail very quickley as the bearing seat has to be machined and recut and correct resized bearing put back. I know three well proficient mechanics of many years who have rebuilt turbos and they have always failed very quickly. That why these recon places exist and why garages don't do em. Not trying to put a downer on just think you waisting your time.
  18. I have a pair of heads that have never been skimmed that have Auto cams and they are spot on. If you have a TT just swap cams as Valves etc are just the same. Don't want much for them, but I would take a 0.02 skim off them before refit. If your turbos are seazes it doesn't mater if you are going to have them refurbed. they just exchange them. My experience of 4 different Turbo refurbers (you'd think I'd give up with Turbo cars, but I've got 4 at this moment) I'd only Recomend Turbo Dynamics at Christchurch. They are spot on. I sent my last set to them with a question as to wether they were deffective and they rang back next day and said no there perfect just full of oil from an engine problem. Only charged for carrage.
  19. Yes it does unless it is sold as for "parts or repare"
  20. Yep this car was obviously not fit for purpose and therefore you have every right to take it bake and demand your money back.
  21. Not since I had the car rebuilt with the bigger turbos. It is because of the new turbos and the extra boost I am running is generating much more heat into the oil so I have had to look at a different setup. Worked for track days with Stage 1 hybrids and 16psi the system worked great. Then when I had engine rebuild and new turbo's I notice damage on original 25 row cooler so I replaced it then found out 2 weeks later that I needed a new set up
  22. They are made by Heibache So you could speek to Heibache UK with regard to replcement springs. Just out of curiousity, What were you driving before the Zed, because a good sports car set up is a bit Teath rattley.
  23. You didn't wimple her? :headvswal :headvswal You wooss. Don't you know a green light when you see one FFS. Rats and drain pipes spring to mind This was carma. You should have made this the kind of ordeal that kuny Lingus and if you'd flown with TWA you could have tried there TWA Tea
