Cracking bloke aswell!! :D

One of my top 5 favorite Z32's that is. A simply stunning car. It really shows up the "Strosek" kit copies that are out there...they're simply not in the same league (IMHO o' course ;))

Yep it is nice. It was an NA originally, but it now sports the Jun stroker engine that came out of the car I sold to Leon. Unfortunatley Peter remove the engine before he sold it to me

Your dead right though Leigh. The copy's are completely the wrong shape.

Even me who declares hatred for the Stroseck kit can admire that as well balanced.

anyone know if the strosec kit is glass or steel?

Hi Chris

The stroseck and is fiberglass but nothing like the copies. Look at the shape of the wheel arches and the conture lines.

If you look the copies cut in and expose loads of tread face + they are about 3/4 of and inch wider. The biggest difference is the price. A genuine stroseck kit is 22,000 Euro. About £15,000 fitted and about £9500 just for the kit.

I'd say looking at gruntpa64's wheel arches that it looks more like a Paul Bailey like Mac1's and by far the best of the copies, but still a little wider and different profiles.

yup your right, its mean machines car that has the genuine stroseck

I really can't see how theres gonna be any difference between any of the kits.

The Paul Bailey was taken from the Strosec moulds, then the Z centre ones were copied from the PB ones with a few minor mods.

I know you can get slight changes in shape when you copy a copy but not that much!

I must be one of the only people that has fitted all 3 versions of the kit and i could'nt honestly say that there is a great difference even in the fitting and flushing in, they are all on a par!

Well Pete maybe its because I was a Technical illustrator for years, but I have a kean eye for these things. I think there's also an elliment of who fits em as well. I know you did Ians and touleqoc's (carnt remember his name now) Both nice jobs I might add, but Wasn't Touleqoc's a Zcentre kit? and Ian's a Paul Bailey?

As far as I was awhere Paul Bailey made copy kits under licence to Strosek, but had to make a number of small changes and that other copies must have at least 20 dimensional changes to avoid prosecution under copy write law.

Points of difference I noticed are, The trailing edge of the rear wheel arch leads further away from the wheel on copy kits, leaving a larger gap. Copy kits are wider, they also curve in more from top to bottom leaving more tyre face exposed like the old AC Cobras. This also means that the side skirt of the copies isn't as curved to pronounce the shape of the sill, then the curve of the original Strosek is smooth and convex from the upper edge of the wing to the wheel arch, The copies all seem to start concave then move to a sharper covex curve making the arch look more pronounced, the indicators on the front bumper on the original lift slightly at the outer edges the copies are all horizontal. The original is more understated.

Biggest thing I have found with original kits and copies is that originals fit perfectly and need almost very little preping. I've had genuine Veilside parts and Wings West and I've had Lukes. (don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Luke) The stuff he makes are a fraction of the price of the genuine and reasonable quality, but slightly different to the genuine kit. Usually more accentuated.

Just my opinion but I think sometimes this take away too much from the lines of the car.

sorry guys i think that front bumper looks hideous on a Zed and the wheels look like something off a matchbox toy car

i have just looked at the pic of the strosek car the only differences to my kit is the front bumper which has spot lights in it which I thought was the changed that had to be made due to the copy right

No there had to be 20 dimentional changes so the lights would only add up to one. I must say though looking at your car the arches do look very true to the original. I bet that is more to the good workmanship of who ever fitted the kit though. "Your car does look good and not too wide".(thats my opinion)

Did you that the original strosek tail gate skin was different to yopurs too.

The part that is the original skin where the OEM spoiler used to fit is the spoiler on the strosek and the new skin from the rear glass slopes down and leaves a gap under the original skin. I'll try find a pic.

There's one on there website but I carn't cpoy and paste it http://www.strosek.de

Click on full site then classics then 300ZX then description and all 300ZX pics come up.
