  1. V-Power all the time for me unless its out (which it tends to be now and then) in which case BP 98 isn't too bad.
  2. I have AMS manifolds and downpipes waiting to be installed at some point and the quality of them both is top notch
  3. :hurl: :hurl: I think that's what paper bags are for!
  4. ...a job I thought I'd never get to do easily as one of the screw heads was rusted so bad it was coming apart when I tried to undo it, but eventually I got the old ones out and the new smoked 'reflectors' in. I take it the US-spec Zs have (or had) to have lit-up rear reflectors because the new units come with small bulbs for which there is no visible connection in my Jap bumper. I love the look though - the red really clashed with the blue, but now the rear quarters match the darker alloys and also the smoked side repeaters up front. A great mod for about £30 delivered from the US
  5.   excellent! made me laugh so much I've just bought one - will make a cracking Christmas gift!
  6. purely by itself, a remapped chip will do hardly anything to increase horsepower, however it is a vital requirement to have a remap or aftermarket ecu or eprom installed when increasing boost so that the ECU knows how much fuel to provide for the higher boost levels.
  7. cool thanks Gonzo and Tudor. i wonder if anyone, upon upgrading to an EBC, has either left the stock solenoid there or fabricated a bracket, as it seems a useful thing to have to help clamp down this pipe, especially under increased boost...?
  8. what's this? "Give Me a Clue" with Una Stubbs? Jeff's not allowed to talk, only mime via pictures he stole from the internet? glad your hesitation's gone Ian - shame about the leak as I know sometimes theyr'e a pig to ID!
  9. that sounds awful mate, the attitude of the police astounds me the most here. what if it had been a little girl or boy waiting to cross the road and they got wiped out by that dozy old bat!
  10. those skirts are ok-ish - the bit at the back where it bends up and round looks a bit balls though IMO
  11. i thought Quantum of Solace was good on Blu-Ray, and some parts of Valkyrie. I only have 8 or so blu-rays at the moment, but pretty much all new films I buy will be on this format
  12. welcome to the club and good luck with your search. you should be able to get a decent Z for that price range.
  13. thanks for the comments all - really helps make it all worth it (the whole thing - not just swapping out the rear lights!) - I think the 99 spec rears really freshen the car up and bring it right into the, err, 90's! Nick - I left his with almost half that, lol! It's a shame the Wilwoods wouldn't fit the discs I'd bought, but it's all part of the game isn't it! Leo - you never run out of things to do with a Z mate! or in my case I get Jeff to do most of it :o :D i'd like to see those crystal ones Al! sounds intriguing!
  14. good work Alan nice one! get a scan up ;)
  15. nice find! I'm sure our very own Bee Gee Vinz might find a fault or two with it though! :D
  16. Thanks both! It's a Viper spoiler mate.
  17. Something Ive wanted to do for ages and now after a bit of saving up and a few light taps with a lump hammer I've got the new lights in. Love the look, the only slight downside is the peachy-coloured indicators, but I can live with that! :D These are the genuine article too, so my old 89-spec ones will be up for sale soon, once I can be bothered to clear all the liquorice sealant off them!! :online2long:
  18. After I identified a loose pipe following my boost loss and black smoke episode, I noticed there appears to be something missing from the engine bay. The pipe highlighted in green is the outside drivers-side intercooler pipe that goes to the back of the engine, then down (where it's come loose and popped off) - this whole pipe currently moves up and down when pushed and pulled, but it looks like along with the jubilee clip at the back of the engine, there should be something in the red circle that clamps the pipe to side of the plenum. Is this the case?
  19. I have a set of DeatchWerks Pintleless 550's in mine and they're great!
  20. I think you're right mate - Midlands meets were great and as regular as clockwork at one point - in fact looking back at my photos in 2007 we were in Arnold in Jan, Stonebridge in Feb, Glenfield in March, Newark in April and Stenson in May! I think shortly after that I was having my rebuild so didn't attend any for a while.
  21. congrats Jeff and Jamie - another step in your conquest of the world! :D
  22. great work both, and thanks for the write-up!!
  23. i'd have assumed it would do it in any gear - there's a particular point on my way to work that I reach after about 10/15 minutes of driving that I use as a guide to say the engine is warmed up and the oil is doing its job so as I pass a national speed limit sign I squeeze the boost out gradually just to make sure everythings ok - it's only happened to me in 3rd gear but then again that's the gear I'm in at this point - whether the cut-out is boost-related or rev-related I don't know, but I guess the wet filter can't suck in enough air to feed those hungry turbos.
  24. i wonder if the symptoms of a wet MAF differ slightly between makes of filter/setups of car - when its been raining hard and I build up boost past a certain level, there's no pop but the car will literally cut out for half a second, but will drive fine off boost. makes me jump a bit but i know when to expect it
  25. vacuum pipe come off? I only say that cos it's happened to me twice now!
