1. it even says Peter Parker on the front! i did a year of German at secondary school, and that ebay ad translates as: "I'm a complete knob who's going to ruin a fantastic car and then think someone else is going to buy it." [which ironically they are :( ]
2. mate that is seriously looking awesome!! i love the cam/throttle covers and the polished plenum. looks like a brand new car
3. welcome to the club matey and good luck with your search!
4. Click Linky watch the truck when the postman climbs out at the start!!
5. Ive seen this on at least 3 different cars at work - one of which is an Astra VXR Nurburgring (at least so the little map claims!) I was tempted to get a map of the Oadby/Wigston area and stick it to mine!
6. you can spot that's a scam from 10 miles off. delete and ignore, report to Paypal if you want. i get several a week - you get used to it after a while.
7. Happy Birthday matey!!!!
8. mate that looks the absolute danglers
9. i take it you were in neutral/clutch in when it stalled? it's happened to me a few times, only after hard driving though. I think someone else suggested it could be BOVs requiring adjustment too. I just get in the habit of blipping the throttle when out of gear after a boot - prevents the problem from happening ;)
10. :( from what little of the bodywork you see it looks in mint condition. no doubt there's nothing wrong with it that a few hours of expertise can't fix
11. great work Al!
12. lol, about time Al!!!!! Let us all know your username, or can we guess
13. there's a rumour that the game may be delayed by a couple of days!! wtf? better not have been cos I booked the day off work for this! however, some more features announced at GTPlanet: GT5 will feature a series of special events such as the Karting Experience, the AMG driving school, The Stig Challenge, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Sebastien Loeb Rally Challenge, and Gran Turismo Rally. Point-to-point rally stages will be automatically and randomly generated – you’ll have to depend on your co-driver to give you the best instructions about the road ahead. Weather changes include temperature differences, air pressure changes, and humidity, affecting the surface conditions of the track dynamically. Weather conditions are randomized. Forecasts for your race will be available but may not be entirely accurate, just like the real world. Polyphony Digital has worked to improve engine sounds. VW Camper van racing!

digging up a rather old one here - the Numa Numa guy gets to conduct a brass band! If you've no idea what I'm talking about, just quit the thread now!! lol!
16. i think that's the one with the Nismo sticker on the back - I've seen it often but the lady driver never waves back when I pass her :( funnily enough (or not!) there was an armed robbery in their car park this morning! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-11345707
17. t-bolt clamps - they look like the solution! I run 17.5psi on stock tubs with 360 degree T/B, max I've hit before is 18psi according to my E-01 but I've not noticed any drop in performance, det, etc. I just wanted to know how, if you were running something stupid like 2 bar, the chuff would you keep your hoses on!!!!
18. well after fixing the coolant pipe clip and messing around a bit (e.g. deleting the fan shroud), I identified the source of my boost leak - the pipe into the nearside throttle body was a little loose at the bottom. took it for a spin this morning, and other than a jumping temp gauge (which I assumed was a loose connection up front on top of the rad pipe) all was well. decided to use it to go to work (I had the morning off), I still have jumping needle (albeit it keeps below a sensible temperature reading), and only while I'm throttling for some bizarre reason, anyway, come to overtake a slowcoach on a 60mph, boosting like a good'un, then POP, black smoke, judder, stall, F**K! mercifully I was right next to a BP garage so managed to get her in there - would start but would just cut out after more black smoke. also wouldn't let me have my key back    identified ANOTHER loose boost pipe ffs offside down alongside the engine. borrowed a screwdriver from the garage and managed to lever the hose back over the metal pipe and push down. she started and ran ok and I managed to get her to work through careful driving. still couldn't get key out so removed everything from the keyring so just the key left, and locked the key in the car (secure car park at work). a quick call to Jeff and he guided me on how to get the key back out. so other than a loose pipe and a jumping temp gauge (both stock and aftermarket) she's not too bad. ...but seriously, while i was at the BP with a dead Z and no way to get the key out, I was this close to calling it a day after over 7 years. most of the problems she's had are minor ones, but which means more messing about on a weekend and less time enjoying her. i'm still considering it at the moment, I'm just not enjoying her any more :( :( :( ps. how the hell do those of you running 18psi and over manage to keep your pipes from popping off - do you use ten jubilee clips or something?
19. ok chaps Im sorted thanks - Jeff advised I remove the cowl around the steering column and feel round the back of the solenoid behind the barrel but after getting the cowl off I noticed a small piece of metal just up-left of the thumb-push almost out of view behind that bit of the cowl that I could reset with my thumbnail. works a treat now. just the other probs to sort :(
20. Thanks mate. I've just spoken to Jeff and he's guided me through the process of getting the key out! I'll try it when I get back home.
21. I know there's been a few threads about this in the past: On the way to work one of my boost pipes came off and caused the Z to belch black smoke and refuse to run/idle. Luckily I was next to a petrol station so I pulled in and managed to temporarily get the pipe back on so it would at least drive. Unfortunately it's not giving me the key back. The thumb-push refuses to go in and allow the key to come back to first position and come out. I'm sure this is due to the car stalling because of the pipe as I've never had this problem before. It's a MANUAL, with an Apexi Turbo Timer. I've tried wiggling the steering lock, I've started the engine, turned the key off, let the timer run down as per usual, but the push-button still doesn't go in. :( Is there something I can hack to get the key out?
22. you'll get a nice battered one smoking and bleeding oil for £700! you should be able to pick up a decent one for £2,500 nowadays :( but it's wise to keep hold of another few hundred quid to deal with any 'surprises' shortly down the line
