  1. i dont think it really suits the Z, or any other non-euro car to be honest, by that's just my opinion. PMSL @ Si's chop!
  2. yep thoroughly agree here - 80's TV was ace and even though most of it is cheesy/a bit ghey it still leaves today's tosh for dead. Knight Rider was my favourite, followed by Street Hawk.
  3. crikes there's a name from the past! i've changed mine so you won't recognise me
  4. ive only seen the 1st one so far and I thought it was fantastic. i have to admit I'm a bit of a SH purist (Ive read the short stories twice and really enjoy watching Jeremy Brett's interpretation). I thought they brought the new SH up to date really well while keeping some traditional elements in there. both Cumberbatch and Freeman play their characters superbly, but its a shame that Benedict looks a bit too 'weird'. :x: ^ ditto re the 3-patch problem, nice touch but yep too 'modern'
  5. yeah it was a shame and i think the guys put it over really well - especially when they showed the defunct factory full of gleaming cars  a great episode, but why does TG only last a handful of episodes and then disappear again?!
  6. the Shell fuel save as far as I'm aware is just standard unleaded (or a crapper version perhaps) and I wouldn't put it anywhere near my Z! and £60 to fill a tank on decent fuel - BARGAIN! lol!
  7. sorry she's gone mate but you know its for the best. Chris has got himself a well cared-for car.
  8. thanks, thats as i was suspecting - would they (as in the 3" decats and the 2.5" downpipes) still physically bolt together though? the reason i ask is that in the future i intend to upgrade the turbos and if I can run the Z with the new exhaust on for the time being (albeit not receiving the full benefit of 3" all the way from the turbos) then I'd be happy to do that and go for a 3" downpipe at the same time as the turbos. if that makes sense...
  9. would 3" decat pipes mate directly to 2.5" downpipes or would the downpipes need to be 3" as well?
  10. Happy birthday matey, I hope you and the fam are all ok :duffer:
  11. The E-01 has loads of screens you can flick through, but try and find the different Graphs. in the corner of the screen you will then find the above settings. the settings should be something like the below (disclaimer: totally depends on the mods and condition of your Z, fuel you run, etc.!). These, as a very rough estimate, would give you approx. 1 bar boost. messing with these settings too much can blow up your engine! SET: about 60 (within 55-70 range) GAIN: about 15 (within 10-15 range) START: about 12 my settings currently are: SET 75, GAIN 15, START 14, and give me 17.5psi
  12. what are the general settings on the unit? e.g. SET, START and GAIN? I assume its been fitted correctly and there are no major leaks/missing pipes anywhere...!?
  13. Many happy returns fella :duffer:
  14. awesome video - some of that photography is worthy of Top Gear! [and that's saying something!]
  15. welcome to the club matey - gorgeous looking Z there. the alloys look like Mania Vortex's or similar, and the rear light panel is aftermarket - 'afterburner' I think. those seats look retrimmed too
  16. the one looking forlornly from the upstairs window because you cant afford an outfit because you own a Z? by any chance? :D
  17. yep i agree a much better episode. loved the bugatti, loved the Senna bit, loved the reasonably priced bit, and the ice racing at the start was a bit bolted on but good as well. top stuff!
  18. front bumper is Strosek - classy lines and quite uncommon on Zs - looks good with the right balance of bodykit round the car, IMO. looks good on yours
  19. love it!!! they mentioned this on the radio earlier on today.
  20. fantastic photo - a great driver and a great car.
  21. welcome to the club!
  22. I believe that's what imports have. i think the blue glass looks much cleaner and more modern though.
  23. sometimes the rubber strip isn't bonded down correctly and rainwater can pass beneath that, over the edge of the metal, and down the inside of the A-pillar.
  24. i think that occurs also when you slide the windscreen trim down too forcefully (i.e. not really really gently)... that exact same crack appeared on someone else's windscreen i know. make sure you clearly state whether bronze or blue glass when you get it sorted!
  25. Right all the debate about dump valves and performance got me thinking (yes, be worried!). I've had them installed for nigh-on 6 years. the last time I drove a Z in anger with stock recircs was mine, when it was a poorly white automatic, 6 years ago. this is my understanding of how a DV'd system works: a) floor it b) boost builds up - boost gauge shows max (whatever that may be - say 1 bar for now) c) enjoy the rush d) foot off - TISH - boost gauge starts to quickly drop to vacuum as the compressed air leaves the system e) engage next gear while the above is happening f) back on the gas - boost builds back up, and we're back to b) again. now if you had recircs, how right or wrong am i about this: a) floor it b) boost builds up - boost gauge shows max c) enjoy the rush d) foot off - boost gauge stays at max(?) or is the 'held' compressed air not measured by the gauge(?) e) engage next gear while the above is happening f) back on the gas - instantly back to max boost with no lag (?) I honestly can't remember how this works... during the hot weather we've been having, I've noticed a slight drop in performance, including 1-1.5psi lower max boost on same settings and slightly more lag and even after my comments in the other thread(s) about this I got to thinking how much difference in performance there really is...
