  1. > I'm lost as how to go about sorting the throttle :/ disconnect the tps connector (the one on a seperate wire) for 5-10 seconds while the engine is running. It will reset the idle switch setting in the ECU
  2. yeah, could be a problem with the turbo...due to excessive play or a foreign object has damaged the compressor/turbine wheels. You will have to either remove the turbo or at least remove the downpipe/elbow to be able to check this. did it lose oilpressure and start making sounds all of a sudden ? ..you also write the engine is shaking, which may indicate a cylinder is not firing. what's the exact story/background that lead to these problems ?
  3. > because it's looks like the sound is coming from driver side turbo what kind of sound/noise ? and when do you hear the sound ?
  4. I have yet to see an oilpump failure on a Zed...but oil pressure depends on more variables (eg. bearing spacings) simple check to see if you have (some) oil pressure in the engine, is to the remove oil cap with engine running and look for oil being splashed around by the camshaft. The lack of oil from the return from the turbo *may* be caused by the fact that PE1420's are ballbearing and these type of turbos need VERY little oil for lubrication....that's also why most ballbearing turbos need special oillines/oil-adapters to reduce oil flow/pressure to these turbos.

  6. schematic for the new model ASCD (20 pin version): http://dta-motorsport.com/temp/ASCD_S2.gif
  7. Some (S2+) ECU's don't have the pot. The ECU can still be put in auto diagnostic mode by using this simple method: http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/FAQ/FAQpages/ECUdiagnostics.html
  8. > http://www.conceptzperformance.com/C...678.86.223.171 > Has any one used these ?? Yes, they work fine. standard/nismo injectors are also made by JECS You'll need a custom mapping though, as the flow/latency characteristics of these injectors are different
  9. the other one is called the "trunk check connector", whatever that means :) I'm not exactly sure what it does or checks...
  10. ABS check connector...only found on the S2+ models it is used for easy access to the self diagnostics mode of the ABS ECU
  11. if it has upgraded turbos (T28's), it probably has upgraded/stiffer/adjustable WG actuators as well. This will cause the base boost pressure of the turbos to be higher
  12. there's a alternative for those that already have an ebay or homemade cable. The conzult is also available as a software-only version now and this specific version works with 3rd-party cables.
  13. could be a faulty CAS/connector/wiring. RPM-signals comes from there. (Duty cycle spike is also caused by the RPM spike)
  14. oh...and to answer the original question: >> will be mated to an uprated fuel rail prob if this is a fuel rail for series 2 injectors, then these injectors won't fit. These injectors have been modified to fit a series 1 rail
  15. >> Sard are a top brand and im sure they make the Nismo injectors anyway not true. they all come from the same manufacturer though: Denso
  16. one or more of the main wiring harness grounds is not connected (as vern936 also mentioned)
  17. I have seen this happen quite a few times, also have seen the silicone version of the lower radpipe collapse like that... IMHO, best solution is a SS/alluminum lower radpipe
  18. >> Most I ever got from mine before I pulled the VG30 was 350RWHP @ 1.1bar (before V-Power) but it was absoutely marginal, I wouldn't have tuned someone else's car like that. John, that engine (your old) is still going strong ! :D
  19. >> So as a person with a auto to manual converted car what is the ideal setup? AT ECU with MT rom or a MT ECU (with MT ROM)
  20. it works, but it's not the ideal situation A bit of a technical story, but the ECU in the Z uses special maps for higher gear and motorway speeds. As the automatics only have 4 gears and manuals 5 gears, the settings used by the ECU to determine the gearing is obviously different between AT and MT roms, so if you run a AT rom in a MT car, these special high gear maps won't work properly and I have found it can cause detonation in some cases. There are a few more differences and usually the AT roms are tuned slightly different (milder), but this won't affect running very much.
  21. forgot to mention, that these AMS pipes are direct copies of SpecialtyZ's expansion pipes. SpecialtyZ have designed these particular model downpipes. https://specialtyz.com/shop/sz-3-4-bolt-down-pipes.html
  22. they are on the AMS website: http://amszstore.com/main/product_info.php?products_id=221&osCsid=424605ef846a645d48dab8e52294f90b
  23. bit of overkill on basically standard turbos, but I've installed a few sets of the "Alloy ToyZ" expansion pipes (I think these are the same as AMS) and quality/fitment is decent.
  24. do you have standard turbos or upgraded ones ?
  25. you can't determine from the engine serial number if the engine is TT or NA as both start with VG30xxxxxx if it still has the oilpan: TT oilpan has 3 extra pipe-connections...NA has none the NA-heads have 30P stamped on the side, TT's have 40P or 48P
