New tyre age
Cheers guys. I’ll stick the spare wheel set on this winter.

New tyre age
While we’re on the subject of tyres, is it worth swapping the wheels over for winter storage to avoide flat spotting or does it take a long time to flat spot them standing?

New tyre age
:blushing: Well after hearing all of your comments on how tyres should be new I thought it best to double check the date before complaining to BlackCircles tomorrow. I got my numbers mixed up, they were actually made on the 26th week of this year. Thanks again for all your help and advice guys!

New tyre age
Hi guys I brought some new tyres and received delivery today. I was surprised to see that it looks like they were made in 2013. Is this ok or should I expect new tyres to be produced a lot more recently than this? Cheers, Chris.

Radio surround screw cover, top left.
I know it sounds a pit cheap and I could just go buy one new but I’ve other things to spend my money on and I’ve already brought the same piece once from Luke (white UK breaker) but he couldn’t find it when I went up to collect it and has since gone to ground after being ripped off by another member here (to which I don’t blame the man). Cheers, Chris.

Cool. They can be a bit slow to process the applications to display BUT if it isn’t confirmed by October then like you say come as the public. Did you see the bit about meeting up at Sainsbury’s at 0600? (Best to move this chase to the Goodwood meet post)

Project UK rewind
My second job wasn’t as fun. Some time ago I brought some used rear lights (“89 spec lights are NLA and I think the “89 suite my paint colour better that “99) to replace my damaged ones. I’d been looking for a good set for a while and finally found a set with no chips, splits and serious scratches. They did however still have 20 years of poor cleaning which had left behind a lot of light scratches. I spent the afternoon cleaning of all that crap used to bound the lights in place, what a ball ache! I’ll not be using that stuff to refit as I’m sure I’ll want to take them out again one day. Anyway, with the backs all clean it was time to drop them off to Paul at Miracle Detail to polish out all those light scratches and hopefully get them shinning like new. I’ve got some picture I took today and I’ll post up the finished results as soon as they’re in. My broken light have chips taken out of them, heavy scratching, splitting around the rear reflectors and shadowing from some naff stickers that had been fitted long ago. And here’s a picture of the new lights before being sent to Paul, hopefully you can see the swirls in the lense covers. (Not very interesting pics as I’m sure you all know what tiered light look like but hopefully they’ll show the difference when I put the after pics in)

I managed to spend a few hours on the car today. Firstly I fitted my wonderful handbrake and gearstick gators from Si at Hide ‘N’ Seat. My gearstick gator was in really poor shape. The handbreak wasn’t too bad but thought it best they both match. The quality of the leather is so nice, the stitching faultless and all the holes were in the right place to make fitting a piece of cake. The only problem now is that the nob and handle really look like they need replacing but I’ll try and hold tight until I get a full interior booked in.

Brexit Poll
I voted to stay back then but now, and as soon as the results came in, I think we ghouls just get on with it. I agree with Simon, it was too big an issue to give the public a vote on but they did. Let’s just get on with it, weather the storm and see where we are in 3-5 years (in my opinion we will be creating a new union that current EU members and beyond will be seriously thinking about joining)

What’s the story behind it?

“99 manual tt vin
Why’s that, are they used in other cars?

“99 manual tt vin
I don’t think he’s given in yet.

“99 manual tt vin
“When they gave mean example of the only numbers they recognised, it was the format of the UK supplied cars, not imports.” This is what they’ve told me too up until now. Not a problem for me normally as mines a UK car but I wanted to see if Nissan could beat the shipping costs from US on a gearbox. The parts man at my local dealer has been very helpful up until now and knows his Z32 better than I do which has been refreshing to hear from a dealer.

“99 manual tt vin
Thanks mate. I tried the part number first but their computer said no.

“99 manual tt vin
I’m wanting to find out if a uk dealer can get a good price for a “99 spec gear box. Thanks for that, I’m sure it will be fine now with the G.
