Goodwood Breakfast Club 07 Oct Japanese Sunday 2018
That’s an interesting list, there’s no mention of Claypit Lane (which runs along the entrance of the motor circuit). Anyone still attending after the road closure will still be able to get to car parks from the north (down from the horse race track) or the east (via Halanker, New road East). Does anyone know if security will let you in with the pass on our phone or does it need to be printed?

Asian hornet
I’m laying in bed waiting for the wife to join me when she starts screaming in the bathroom. She comes running into the bedroom to tell me there’s a massive creature in the bathroom. Being the big brave husband I get thrown into the bathroom to investergate and see the biggest wasp ever. Now this ****er was too big to swat, in fact I think it would have over powered me and starting betting me with the rolled up news paper, so I grabbed the wasp spray and unloaded the can on it’s head. I shit you not the ******* was 45mm in length and it’s sting looked like a nitting needle hanging out it’s arse. I’ve looked it up and I think it was an Asian Hornet!

Also what do you guys think of the clear side repeaters over the orange? I had thought clear as there’s no other colour but the wheels and stripe but I think I’m leaning towards the orange.

Yes mate. It was my plan to restore to factory fresh but it’s would have always be a high mileage restoration. I think the last 12 months have shown me that there are low mileage mint standard cars out there that would be a better investment than restoring my car. So with that in mind I thought sod it lets build a fun car.

Thanks guys. It really goes well with the colour and has made the cab feel more spacious. Now tomorrow’s jobs are to fit the refurbed wheel, rear lights and give her a good clean.

So all the interior cleaned up really well. It’s taken a good 8 hours and a lot of micro fibre cloths but I’m really please with the results. Here’s a few pictures of the Alcantara before and after a scrub. And here are a few pictures of the interior change. I am going to move the leather to my original seats but that will be a winter project.

Replacing door glass
Hi guys I’ve had a look through the FAQs, Techs and done a search but can’t find anything on door glass removal and refit. Has this been covered and could someone post a link please? If not I’ll try and make one myself. Any ideas how long it should take and if I’ll likely need to replace any clips etc? Cheers, Chris.

To be honest I’m ok with it, now I can just send my bits to Si when I’m/he’s ready.

So this is a bit of a sideways step while I ponder, plan and save for a new interior from Hide’n’Seat in a few years. I brought a full interior from Martin. The interior is filthy, it looked like it had been sitting in a barn for 10 years, but the leather and bolsters were in good shape and with a good clean should be more presentable that my current interior. There are a few compromises I’ve had to make, it was my plan to move the leather to my fully loaded frames however the drivers seat has a manual lumbar support lever which will leave an unsightly hole when moved across so it’s going to have to stay on the current frames. Also the drivers door card has a hole by the window switches where a start button was fitted. I’m hoping to take the old Alcantara of my existing door card and fit the new Alcantara to it if I can’t find a spare door card soon. Anyway here’s a few before and after pictures of the front seat. Thanks mate, I thought that might be the case.

Editing Journal
Hi guys I was wondering if it might be possible for the OP of a journal to be able to delete unwanted posts from other members. It’s nice to get positive comments but others may just want a place to pin their build. Cheers, Chris

Hello everyone
Hi Jamie Looks like a nice car to start your project with, the wheels look very cool. As Gaz has suggested, get subscribed. You’ll find a nice journal forum to post on to keep us all up to date with the build and read everyone else’s to keep you motivated when the build becomes hard. There’s also a few group buys and club discounts going on back there that might interest you. For £25pa you can’t go wrong. Good luck, Chris.

Post a picture of them fitted and I bet Simon will be won over and set up a group buy for them.

MOT headlight help
Another headlight post reminded me to update this post. After testing everything with a multimeter, changing relays and fuses the problem was still there. In the end it turned out the problem was between the lamp holder and the cable. (When I removed the lamp holder I didn’t realise you could spilt it from the cable, daft I know. This is why it took nearly 45 minutes to change the lamp first time. :bored: ) Anyway after separating the cable from the lamp hold I found that it hadn’t been fitted correctly and one of the pins had bent and not gone into the connector. Bent it straight, fitted it properly and then there was light. What a ridiculous problem.:death:

All done, thanks. (I don’t even remember that address)

All paid. It would have been nice to have received a pm reminding us they’re due. It might help retain membership if this was done or rekindle a lost love for those who haven’t subscribed in a while if they get a reminder each year.

Just noticed it says I’m a standard member under my name. I’m guessing my subs are due?

Hi guys. I got a message today saying I had maxed my pm allowance. I’ve since cleared all sent and received messages however it’s still saying I’m maxed out. What do I need to do? Cheers, Chris.
