  1. Seems your not alone... get on that complaint line in the morning !! Jeff https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/sep/03/hsbc-heads-off-complaints-over-small-business-account-closures
  2. Mmm... yep have to agree Jeff
  3. The belt clicker plugs into the loom actually attached to the seat, saying that few Z`s have the seat belt not clicked light. Jeff
  4. Does it still power up? I would check there is not another problem first, when my recirc`s let go ( weak springs ) the boost dropped off just like the controller was not working, disconnect the controller pipe and go for a test drive, be careful no need to go mad jusy see if the boost has come back or not, will tell you if it is the controller or not. Note: If the stock boost solenoids are still plumbed in a faulty det sensor circuit will drop boost off too Jeff
  5. Yes but last a long time, you certainly will not be doing them again. Jeff
  6. Quicker to order from your local Nissan dealer no crap exchange rate postage or import duty, think one is £30 and the other a bit more, may as well do both, if ones gone the other will fail soon after. Part numbers 92400-30P00, 92410-30P00 Jeff
  7. Well I do not know, you have done it correctly, what was the back story to the engine needing the strip down? as in did it have problems in that areas?
  8. I know you answered this sort of but to clarify, the cam caps are numbered and are designated I or E for exhaust and inlet, these are definitely as they came off? did not mixed up yes / no . Sure you got it right but got to ask, cannot see anything else could cause the issue, twisted head ?? how or why? Jeff - - - Updated - - -
  9. Nice idea Chris in theory, but many zeds will not be set up for a good run or even safe to , many could be damaged by it, remember some are 27 years old now. Last thing we all want to see is to loose some members engine`s on the rollers, saw it years ago even then when they were maybe 10 years old, when multi cars meets are arranged the rolling road garage have a lot less time to stay safe and will do a set price with a maximum hours to do all of the runs in, easy for mistakes to be made. Like I said nice idea, maybe some will want to do it, make sure those disclaimers get signed though!! Jef
  10. Yes sure he has but must have another problem if the cut off is not sharp and scatter is a problem, the standard lamps when new were actually reasonable, its problems as mentioned above what make them so poor. Even just fitting 100 watt halogen bulbs with out any cleaning or aligning causes more problems than good with excessive current draw and heat as well as the scatter and poor, my not so popular chrome film applied to the inserts made a huge difference the final plastic custom chrome inserts improve the effect of fitting xenons to the max. Jeff
  11. Finally a voice of absolute reason unless of course you like been down the pub, boasting bhp figures! Jeff
  12. Ah yes seen this before seems you are suffering from some or all of the bad fitting, dirty reflector, poor quality xenon kit, scores of zeds out there with xenon kits fitted working just fine. We used our MOT beam setter when fitting kits, the cut off should be sharp and the same as non xenon, if not the above issues are the problem. 10 years worth of MOT`s with no mention of headlight pattern problems suggests we were getting it right. Get a room ....lol
  13. Yes Paul as you have found new turbo cores for factory turbo units are hard to find now, we came across the start of this a few years back when our turbo re-builder explained that the cores are no longer made and used ones often are unusable if they do not pass x-ray tests etc. Not sure about the mambatek units, no personal experience of them, as advised above speak to Jim at PowerZed, he is the go to specialist, Z Centre are a parts only supplier without any workshop experience, Jim is both and more. http://www.powerzed.com Jeff
  14. Having driven your car prior to your ownership many time and some at night I know my original headlights with custom chrome inserts and 6000k xenon kit had a wider spread down the lanes to my house, think I have a photo somewhere.. Jeff
  15. Personally the later HID were not great despite the huge cost, I fitted 99 spec units years ago to mine and they were not as good as my old normal headlights with xenon kit fitted, you can image how miffed I was at the time, was a truck load of cash! The headlight design on the later units was strange with a hump separating the low and high beam, but it cause a tunnel effect on the xenon and the effective beam spread... very odd and bad design. Jeff My custom reflective headlights attracted some negatives 15 year ago but with Xenon kit was awesome ( Pic 1 ) The 99 spec I fitted later ( pic 2 ) you can make out the beam separation that cause the problem
  16. Make`s me chuckle how a late registered car gets us all excited, but it is still 17 + year old, looking at the pictures there is more correct than not, in fact only the turbo gauge is the puzzle as that was deleted from some of ones earlier than that. The engine bay confirms the later parts such as later plenum, later throttle spindle, later brake master cylinder, electric Hicas, later untreated balancer bar, later tps, the series II ptu came in earlier but in association with the later tps and throttle spindle all adds credence to its declared age. The MOT history does show its done low mileage over the years ( around 10 k ) but has not been maintained too well, as the same advisories repeat each year...sure sign of been run on a budget. 2010 low front tyre tread, 2011 warning for both front and rear tyre`s tread low 2012 same warning 2013 fail on the tyres ?? 2013 to 2016 warning in front number plate deteriorated 2015 brake pipes corroded 2016 Front chassis corrosion 2016 Both rear inner corrosion 2016 Sub-frame corroded 2017 O/s/f and n/s/f chassis starting to corrode 2017 Rear suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive both sides inner sills 2017 Rear sub-frame corroded 2017 Offside front lower suspension arm corroded Nothing horrendous hopefully but reminds us again its a 17 + year old car, I would go as far to say I think it is 100 genuine, needs some work underneath but to be expected due to age, price needs to be negotiated down somewhat though. Jeff
  17. Wow some hard work been done there guys !!! Jeff
  18. No got me mixed up with other`s, I sold that near 20 years ago so not in in the least bit bothered for me, just what is promotes the zx marque as. I made a thread a while back concerning the look of overly dressed up zeds, and look my old one is like it ! ironic eh? Jeff
  19. Shocked to be honest, was my first Z, and back in the day despite the low cost I got it for was a WOW car to my neighbours, friends etc. cut my teeth as such on it and shame its not still stock, massive BHP engine apparently though. Jeff
  20. Anyone else here seen their old zed turn up years later looking totally different ??? I owned this zed in 1995 when it was a youngster, just 5 years old Was pin sharp clean straight from the dealer, little mileage and already had a Veilside chip, and exhausts running 14 psi boost delimited and converted to UK mph, sitting on a set of genuine multispoke gold BBS rims, remember this was 1995 and all the work was already done, this was when a UK zed in standard form was £20k + at a Nissan Dealers.... but it was regarded as a "nasty import" in those days....£7.5k is all I paid 22 years ago Now looks very, very different, from the Lincoln area it seems>>>>> Thoughts ........... Jeff
  21. Came across a couple of pictures of an engine bay I did a couple of years ago, lets see your before and after pics, and what products did you find best.
