  1. Good point Chris - and THB I'd probably have kept mine for the originality aspect too, had the damn thing not started leaking....?
  2. Happy St Andrew's day indeed - have a good one Lee...…?
  3. Great pics indeed Andy....!! Looks like a great trip - thanks for sharing mate......
  4. Hi Chris, I second the satin black choice too...… But I'd probably ditch that PS oil cooler. Mine looked like that, but was rusted far further through than I though - so it ended up leaking. After speaking to JeffTT, I removed it completely and joined the pipes together. Jeff advised that he'd never heard of the PS fluid overeating (in any car for that matter) - it's just typical Nissan over-engineering. And it's in a poor location for exposure to rain etc., which exacerbated the corrosion!
  5. Nice one mate - I did see your car there, when I collected mine a couple of weeks back. Glad you're happy with yours too.....
  6. Happy birthday Tony - have a great day mate!! Richard
  7. Happy birthday for Tuesday Mark - hope you had a great day mate! Richard
  8. A belated Happy Birthday Tom - hope you had a great day mate!! Richard
  9. A belated happy birthday Jay - hope you had a good one mate! Richard
  10. Sad news Lee...... For what it's worth, and if funds allow, I would try and get hold of a decent second hand engine; then drop it straight in so at least you can enjoy driving the car for a while. During which time, you can save for a proper rebuild of your current engine - or at least work on it in stages. You've put so much time and effort into it Lee - and it's truly stunning - hence I'd be wanting to start enjoying using it. Good luck mate.....
  11. Sound advice from the Zed guru......
  12. Cheers Jim - and yes; you definitely sent more than just a few mate.... And thanks to Donna for collecting me from the station too; a first class service from Powerzed all round
  13. As Andrew says, a "30" grade, when hot, it a little too thin for a twin turbo.... Best go for a "40" 10w40 semi is more than adequate - and what Nissan originally specified - but a 5w40 fully synthetic is also a decent upgrade, by modern standards. Jimmer filled mine with Mobil 10w40 semi - and I have previously used the same Magnatec posted by Bones above. I have also used Shell Helix 5w40 in the past; all without issue. Keep with the "40" bit and don't skimp on quality and you'll be fine
  14. Pics indeed.... Jim sent me a fair few, so I'll just have to copy and post them....
  15. I collected my Zed from Jimmer's yesterday - after dropping it off 2 weeks ago for a few bits..... Including: Full cambelt, all pulleys and tensioners, water pump, thermostat - basically the whole 120k "works" Oil and filter change Replace autobox fluid Fitting my new (non-scratched) driver's side window Sorting ABS light fault (replacing NSR sensor) AC regas MOT - for which I needed both HICAS joints and the NSF balljoint replaced On top of that, Jimmer replaced 3 crank/cam oil seals and bled the ABS pump. Oh, and it was lovely and clean when I got there.... I had a great drive home; the Zed was running so well; slick, fast and responsive - the gear change felt so much smoother and the car seemed to handle better in the corners with new the steering joints. Thanks Jim; you're a real star mate!! Richard
  16. Very nice - but definitely have to ask what he did...…..
  17. White smoke is not necessarily a cause for concern. If the car is running well - and you have no fluid (particularly coolant) loss - then I wouldn't worry. If you start having to top up the radiator - and the car runs hotter than usual, then suspect the HG. Also, look for signs of coolant mixing with the oil or vice versa.... Take the car for a long, fast run and then see if it still smokes when you get home.
  18. Oops - welding time indeed..... I bought mine from Luke; OEM front (long) sections and pattern rear sections. Not cheap, especially when postage added, but needs must if you want to save your Zed.
  19. Indeed….!! Glad you spotted that though Chris - and surprised you still managed to stop the car
  20. I got another update from Jimmer.... …...New HICAS joints needed for MOT; plus NSF ball joint unsafe. Whilst it's a couple of extra items that needed doing, I am pleased the Zed was with Jimmer, so he could fix them quickly and easily....
  21. A late response I know - but seconded...…. We had a 2 minute silence at 11am on Sunday, in the NEC - and again at work yesterday.
  22. Nice one Craig..... Yup - it was indeed a truly great show..... And I have to say, our best stand ever!! Thanks to IanL for bringing our display to life - we definitely had one of the best stands there IMO. And thanks to Andrew, Gary, Howard, Ian (again) and Joel too , for bringing your cars along and doing us proud. I shall post a few pics tomorrow.....
