  1. RIP Mandy - you're still in our thoughts.....xx
  2. When I clicked on the link, it seems the ad has been pulled.... ….But it's definitely Vince's car. Hope he's OK.....
  3. I agree…. ….And welcome to the club from me too! After 10 years, I'd get the car to Jimmer's for a full 60k service and re-commissioning.
  4. Happy birthday Joel - hope you have a great day mate! Richard & Julia
  5. Cheers Andrew - sounds exactly the same issue as I'm having. I'll disconnect the wire from the lock mechanism until I can fix the issue.... Nice advice; most appreciated
  6. Hi folks, My Zed has had an intermittent boot-catch problem for the last few months. Initially, it would jiggle and trigger the interior light/door open light, when driving over bumps etc. I adjusted the catch, so that the boot was more tightly closed - which cured it for a while. When it happened again, I replaced the bolts, as the brass ones had clearly become useless. That worked for a while too - until the light started come on when I had a boot full of shopping; IE when I "squashed" the tailgate down. I then bought a second-hand boot catch from Ebay. This worked for a couple of months - and you've guessed it, the damn thing is playing up again - triggering the light and "door open" light intermittently. I am sure this has led to the battery draining, whilst the car lays unused in my garage. I fiddled with the catch yesterday - and just could not get the lights to extinguish at all. It was also stopping the alarm from arming - as it thought the boot was open. I put the "old" boot catch back and I seem to have set it at the "right" place now. But I've removed the boot light bulb and switched off the interior light, just in case the switch randomly triggers and drains the battery again. I did find the new OEM part listed at allcarpartsfast - however they advised it wasn't actually available. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it please - it's bloody annoying!!??
  7. Indeed - I've never been to this one either. I haven't really fancied it, TBH, but please do let us know if it's worth the visit......
  8. Nothing today..... ….But yesterday, I took the Zed out for a nice run; had to jump-start it (again) though, as the battery had lost its charge. Despite being relatively new, I decided to treat the Zed to a nice new Yuasa battery from Allparts, whilst passing by. The guy behind the counter was really helpful - and, despite his computer bringing up a battery with the terminals on the wrong side, managed to locate the right one. He also couldn't get out to see the Zed fast enough, when I told him it was outside!! After much car-related admiration, he proceeded to knock £20 off the price - just as well, as it wasn't cheap! I fitted the battery when I got home - and then had to replace the side-light fuse. Twice. Turned out one of my LED bulbs had over-heated and fried a connection on its PCB. They were a little too bright, for side lights, so I fitted some better quality ones; albeit at the "proper" brightness I fiddled with the boot catch (again) too, as intermittently activates the switch - turning on the interior light and "door open" dash light. Hmmm, might have found the source of that drained battery - so I have removed the boot light bulb and switched off the interior light, just until I know the boot catch is fixed. I gave the Zed a nice hoover and interior polish - including some leather care treatment - so it's all ready for a trip to Dorset in a couple of weeks And today, I've successfully charged that old battery and will leave it in the garage, to use as a booster, if needed. It's a PITA getting the Merc or RR close enough to jump-start the Zed, when it's in the garage.
  9. Give Adrian Flux a call too - you might encounter the same response, but you never know!
  10. Cool - then I change my greeting to "Happy birthday for today....!" Richard
  11. Happy birthday for yesterday Andy - hope you had a good one mate! Richard
  12. Yup - another recommendation for Jimmer at PowerZed from me too..... …….Well worth the journey to Bristol, to ensure your Zed is looked after by the best in the business.
  13. Many happy returns Andrew - hope you have a great day mate!! Richard & Julia
  14. And I'll finish with Sir Eric of Clapton...…..
  15. Kick-starter for tonight
  16. Hi Steve, You won't get "proper" hub-centric spacers in 5mm, despite what advertising says. 5mm is too thin to have any centre bore - they will just be flat spacers, just like normal universal jobbies. The only centre bore you might have, is if your existing centre lip protrudes past the 5mm spacers. That said, you'll still be OK with stock studs, providing you don't go thicker than 5mm. That's why I decided to re-order a new pair of front wheels last year, when I discovered the flat spoke design would not clear my brakes....
  17. Hi Fran, I'd suggest giving Jimmer at Powerzed a call.... Alternatively Paul at Banzai Breakers may have one for sale - check out his Ebay shop or www.banzaibreakers.com Richard
  18. Weird - I thought all TTs came with ABS; whilst some NAs didn't....??
  19. A belated happy birthday Marty - hope you had a great day mate! Richard
  20. Yup - seconded.... Nice products though; hopefully we'll see a little more of what you have to offer - via the proper channels, of course....
  21. Hello and welcome back...…!! Richard
  22. After 20-odd years, there's a good chance your springs will be a tad worn and saggy too..... If you're now thinking of replacing the lot, then go for a set of coilovers. All four corners will be new and matching - and for less than a set of separate shocks and springs; especially after factoring in delivery, VAT and duty if you buy from the USA. https://www.meisterr.co.uk/products/meisterr-zetacrd-coilovers-for-nissan-300zx-z32-89-00/ Just my humble opinion.....
  23. Happy birthday Danny - have a good one mate! Richard
  24. Cheers Bri - and yes; I definitely concur!! Hope all's good with you and Christine mate....
