The special one for England job
Who cares who the manager is. The England team are just crap so accept it. They are nothing more than a bunch of overpaid under-achieving spoilt, whinging school-girls. They are more obsessed with earning £100k+ per week, preening themselves and their dozy bint WAGs and fighting in night-clubs than they are with the game. They think they should win just because they are supposed superstars of the game - reality check - they are simply NOT good enough and do not have the commitment of foreign players; who have the real skills our players lack. :nono: That's just one reason why I hate football ;) Richard

Shell and the club point thingys...
Yup - I'm also in the V-power club too :D I had a right problem with the dozy b@stards when they switched from the "old" points to "new" points system though. I had to register before early July and specify my chosen rewards (I wanted Debenhams vouchers) as late registration meant automatically receiving free fuel vouchers (no good to me - my company gives me an Allstar card). I did as they said yet they still had me registered for fuel vouchers. Plus they lost loads of my points. It took me days of letters/emails/phone calls to get it sorted :nono: Otherwise it's handy :D Richard ;)

Brilliant! Bring back Enfield!

Brilliant! Bring back Enfield!
Agreed (except for Morecambe & Wise :D ) - none of the new acts are anywhere near as clever or timeless as the classics. Harry Enfield came close but even he is not as good as he used to be. My favourites remain The two Ronnies, Benny Hill and Kenny Everett  Richard

Windscreen demister is rubbish?
I have to agree with Andy...... .......Never had a problem with the ZX misting up inside  . Now my SLK that's another matter - absolute rubbish until the car warms up a bit  Richard :smw:

£106.9
I paid £1.12 p/l for V-power last Thursday........... I would have used normal unleaded but I had these "50 extra pluspoints" vouchers that had to be used with V-power. When I went to pay, the teller said that his machine was not working so he could not process the points  I could have just paid (only!!!!! ) 99.9p p/l for the regular....... b@stards - I had to send the receipt and voucher to Shell, asking them to add it to my points collection. Luckily I have an Allstar card from work! Richard :(

Well spotted Si - very subtle, but your pic clearly shows the difference. Not a bad substitute though..... Richard :smw:

New headlight bulbs anyone.........
Fair point, but according to their research, Auto Express have supposedly proved that both Osram and Phillips "+50%" bulbs easily out perform all other manufacturers' efforts (including the expensive PIAA Xtreme white) by some considerable margin. They have recently voted the new Phillips Extreme Power "+80%" bulbs as their product of the year also. Now I'm no scientist and would see no reason to doubt "independent consumer research" however having used various examples of halogen bulbs over the years, I do think that the Osram and Phillips examples mentioned do give better 'on the road' performance than the others I have tried. I also think that any bulb with a blue coating will give a poorer light output, as the blue coating will undoubtedly reduce efficiency - common sence suggests that a light shone through a coloured lense should not be as effective as one shone through a clear lense. All just IMO and all comments in quotes are manufacturers' quotes and not necessarily my belief :D Richard

Got trashed and walked the wrong way home last night.
Brilliant  And I bet your mates all got home some 3 hours before you, snug and warm, after staying in the club until closing...... :x: And I bet they didn't laugh either :D Richard :nelson:

£1000.00 Road Tax
On a motorway there is - technically it's 30mph minimum......... :nelson: But back to the plot, if the government really plan to increase road tax to £1000 then no-one should just sit back on their arse and accept it........ Richard :(

New headlight bulbs anyone.........
I agree with most of this too - I fail to see that another 55w halogen bulb can give out almost double the light of another bulb of the same spec. Reading between the lines of Auto Car's testing, I think it is more down to the spread of the beam pattern, simply illuminating more of the road ahead. I guess that's why they say ".....up to 90% more light........!" And, having HIDs on my own ZX, I will place the same bet as to which Dan finds the winner :D However I have just fitted the Phillips (suposedly!!) "....80% brighter....." H7 bulbs in my SLK and I am honestly impressed with the results. Looking at the front of the car, they don't appear much different but out on the road they are noticably better. Not a bad upgrade for the £25 I paid Powerbulbs on their stand at MPH! Richard :smw:

smoother rear
I agree..... .......I like the smooth look - it looks good on your car - but I'm also a fan of the 99-spec rear spoiler :smw: Richard

silkolene in dorset???
What he said..... .......if you have 2.5 litres of 5w40 in the sump already just go to a premium brand petrol station (Shell, Texaco, Total) they all sell their own brand of 5w40 fully synthetic. Also from memory, Esso sell Mobil and BP sell Castrol. Richard :smw:

Buying a Personal Number Plate
DVLA direct is still the best option though, as the dealers have to make their profits after all. When I was buying D6*** for my SLK, it was £495 fully inclusive. However NewReg and Elite - both long standing reputable companies - were selling the same number (like you say, they are linked to DVLA's database) for £495 plus VAT plus £80 transfer fee. Richard

NEC Classic Car Show
I've just got back..... ......I have to say it was pretty good, we were also alowed free entry into the static part of the MPH show. There were some fine machines in there, including a lovely blue and black Veyron. I'd not seen one in the flesh before  Some pleasant looking females on the stands as well - always a bonus :hyper: As for the 300zx, it would not have been out of place if they were represented in the classic section. After all the Mk3 Supra lot had a small stand, along with a few MR2s, MX5s and the Classic Z Register..... Richard :smw:

Buying a Personal Number Plate
Most dealers are a rip-off now IMO. I have personal reg plates on all 3 cars and I bought them from DVLA directly. B5*** was £395 inclusive, D6*** for £495 and H16*** for £249 Can't go wrong at those prices - dealers are knocking out B plates with 1 number for £700+ now Richard :smw:
