  1. You're not wrong there mate! Richard :)
  2. Pretty much the same for me too Vini. Although I do have a slightly open mind about the supernatural; but I won't believe until I see evidence for myself. Richard :)
  3. PM is your friend mate.......... ;)
  4. J-spec cars have a "beeper" that sounds off when you exceed 100 km/h (62.5 mph). But if you have had the speedo converted to MPH, the ECU MAY thinks it is still in km/h so it would beep at 100mph. If this happens then you must get the conversion done properly - the HICAS and power steering will also be affected, as the car think it is travelling slower than it really is. Richard :)
  5. I didn't find the last one offensive but there you go........ I mean each and everyone of us finds the subject of child abuse abhorrent, yet we all laughed at Michael Jackson. Remember the picture of the white glove with the dubious brown stains?? Horses for courses I guess............ :wack: Richard
  6. Hi Tony, It looks a very nice car mate  Richard :)
  7. I saw a very nice looking (from the front anyway....) metallic green ZX in Sainsbury's car park, Aylesbury this morning. It had black 5-spoke wheels - I think it was an L reg TT..... Anyone? Richard
  8. In my experience all courier companies are crap...... .......my spares department at work have used TNT, Shitty-link and now UPS for despatching orders. We are always looking out for a decent company but there just do not seem to be any. In fact one shitty-link driver could not even find the Ikea store in Croydon FFS  Richard :(
  9. That's it, exactly what's wrong with the UK, in a nutshell Mark! :( Hope you can reach a satisfactory conclusion mith your ex too mate. ATB Richard :)
  10. Is it not exactly the same engine - only the ECU being different (hence J-spec cars prefer higher octane fuel but UK cars are fine with 95RON)? Richard :)
  11. Sadly this is my theory too  Hence I don't have any..... Still we are lucky here in the UK compared to some countries. I would much rather bring up children in my village than in any of the major towns and cities; there are decent schools in Bucks; plus the Chilterns (except High Wycombe  ) is a nice place to live. Still if I could find the right job there I'd be living by the sea in North Cornwall  I voted yes BTW - it does depend on where in the country you are. Richard :)
  12. I did the same (well 298 miles  ) last weekend on my way back from the Lake District. Not bad since I stuck at just under 100 most of the way  That's not usual though - I normally see 230 at the most from a tank. (stock-ish UK spec auto TT) Richard :)
  13. How can this be enforcable really - I mean, has anyone heard a stock TVR drive past? Not exactly quiet are they....... Richard
  14. I (sadly) have to agree mate :( It seems the government's only strategy to reduce crime is to legalize everything that was previously illegal - that way no-one can break the law hence no crime  Richard
  15. Well said Sarah..... ......and from a girlie too; very rare these days.......... Richard
  16. I must have missed you - I never saw another ZX all week...... .......anyway back to your clutch question - no; but then I have an auto :p Where did you stay mate - I was in a hotel in Borrowdale, not far from the south-eastern edge of Derwentwater. Incidentally, and no-one will believe me here, but I saw an octopus (it was dead) in lake Derwentwater - honest! We hired a motor cruiser for a couple of hours one day; I turned back at what I thought was a buoy and Julia said "That was an octopus." I though that rubbish as octopii are salt water creatures and the lakes are fresh....... .......but I turned round and went back for a second look and sure enough it was a small dead, pinkish coloured octopus - about 70cm long including tentacles  Richard :)
  17. I have to agree here too, Paul  Richard :)
  18. As above..... .......I took the ZX to the Lake District last week and yet again the car was faultless (passed 90k mile mark whilst away too) Over 1200 trouble free miles including a rather quick 300 mile trip there. It's what these cars were made for afterall - fast motorways and faster A-road travel. It made short work of the cross country trips too, having plenty of mid-range grunt to pass the crawling old folks on their hols at this time of year  I even took it over the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes; the latter was a bit hairy in a wide, powerful car but it was no real problem. At one point a chap in a Zafira in front of me decided to film my car whilst they were driving through the pass. I guess he thought I was mad taking a ZX in there  Who says these cars are unreliable? - mine has never let me down and consequently is always the first choice for holidays (especially as the SLK came back from Cornwall on an RAC truck in June; German rubbish :smash: ). It looked good in the hotel car park as well  Richard :)
  19. It was named after a bull that killed a matador....... ......so the article in today's Mail on Sunday says! Richard
  20. Me too. It is a Nissan afterall and benefits from the usual Japanese over engineering. I would trust my ZX more than my SLK which is less than half its age! Richard :)
  21. PMSL - that would be a first though - go for it  Doubt they would be brighter though - train lights don't have to be bright, the driver knows where he is going........he just follows the rails :p Richard :)
  22. What he said...... ......although I no longer use mine everyday. But I simply wanted a newer car however I couldn't bear to part with the ZX, so I kept it for occasional use. I still use it at least twice a week and I'm taking it to the Lake District on a week's holiday tomorrow. I expect I'll cover 1500-2000 miles in the week and would prefer to do it in the ZX  Richard :)
  23. Same for me too, well the grade not the make.......
  24. I read on here somewhere that when running an engine in, one should use mineral oil. I believe it is because the anti-wear properties of modern synthetic oils inhibit the bedding in of the components. Richard
