  1. True..... .....I've always liked the look of the 3000GTO......................... and that's my favourite view of it  Richard :D
  2. So true Si..... Mine sits in the garage most of the week but I try to take it out a couple of times. However if I take it on holiday for a week; give it a long fast (100mph :nono: ) m-way run, followed by some spirited A & B road overtaking, after just 2 or 3 days it seems to run better and better. Richard :D
  3. I like the standard 300ZX seats - they are comfortable and supportive. Therefore I'd never replace them with aftermarket items (plus I like the electric adjustment) so I'd always go for the re-trim option. Richard
  4. Yes - those without leather. AFAIK all UK specs that do have leather seats have an electric driver's seat; later ones also had an electric passenger seat. Some were heated as well. Richard
  5. Us southerners thought that was normal in Yorkshire mate................ ;) Richard
  6. The "meep" is a bit gay; why put such a pathetic horn on such an overtly testosterone charged car............? Richard ;)
  7. What he (and the others) said....... ........The Cobra is horrid and the Viper looks like something is missing; like it's incomplete. Richard
  8. That does look a nice bumper extension, any ideas what make it is? Richard ;)
  9. Yup - right in front if the service manager before I drove away.......
  10. Not my ZX but my SLK..... ......I had it MOT'd at my local MB dealers yesterday. Sure it passed, but like most people I have my tax disc on the lower left area of the windscreen. Just above it I have a National Trust sticker, so that I can park free in their car parks. Well it is in the area of the wiper sweep and has been since I have owned the car (and passed 2 previous MOTs); however when I collected the car I found they'd moved it a foot up the windscreen, just our of the wiper sweep area :slap: I have had the same sticker on my 300zx (along with a Z-club one) for over 5 years and 6 MOTs and no-one has moved them  How fussy is that.....? :nono: In fact now they have moved it, it is more in my area of vision than it was before FFS Richard :mac1:
  11. Back in the 1980s a mate of mine dropped a Rover V8 into a Morris Minor. That used to fly........ :p He kept it stock-ish otherwise, although he did fit a set of Old School Wolfrace wheels (you know, the type often seen on Mk2 Escorts and Mk3 Cortinas) and sprayed the car a nice bright red. Really though, I hate Morris Minors.........along with the Allegro, Maxi and VW Beetle. How they remain classics I don't know. They were crap new and still crap now - hardly in the same league as an E-type or Aston DB5..... :nono: Richard
  12. If it's a flat then it's most probably leasehold, so I doubt you would even be allowed to do any building work altering the structure of the place. Richard
  13. I know - so do I........ ;) Bloody religion  Richard
  14. Sure is - hence I mentioned Jewish in my first guess...... ;)
  15. Yes but they would still go to church on a Sunday...... Is Friday not the Sabbath for Muslims as well?
  16. Easter is the weekend following the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox (March 21st - 1st day of spring, day and night are equal length). This year Easter falls on 21st March - as early as it can possibly be. Easter is, like all other Christian festivals, Pagan in origin. More so in this case as the very name "Easter" comes from the Norse Pagan festival called Oester [sp?] celebrated on the first day of spring marking new beginnings or the birth of a new year. Hence the egg & chick - they signify the re-birth of said new year. The god or godess "Oester" had the head of a hare, today represented by the Easter Bunny. Also homage was paid to the godess Diana (of the moon - hence the timing in relation to the full moon). The ancient symbol for Diana was an "X". The pagans marked this symbol on bread eaten during their Oester festivals many years BC; this was also "stolen" by the Christians and re-hashed as "hot cross buns"!! Richard ;)
  17. If not Jewish (and I guess not as you mention "church") then how about 7th day adventists? Richard
  18. Wise, true words there........... .............better buy an old Fiesta for that kind of money. You get what you pay for :nono: Richard
  19. And the imports are stupidly cheaper than a UK spec car with all the trimmings ;) Richard
  20. I'd disagree with the coverage there mate! My company has its contract with Vodafone and I refuse to join the company sharetime scheme. Instead I'd rather stick to my own Orange phone as wherever I am in the country I always have reception; whereas Vodafone frequently lets my colleagues down. In the wilds of Cornwall last summer Julia and I were the only people among our friends to have perfect reception - they all were on the other 3 networks between them! In fact when I was using my phone in the hotel reception the owner said "I'm surprised you can get a signal here.....you must be on Orange if you can!" Orange reception (ditto T-Mobile) can sometimes have patchy signals inside buildings though - their frequency is different to O2 and Vodafone....... Richard ;)
  21. I'll supply the matches and petrol to help him........... Basically do what Si suggested......... .......or go 99-spec, it suits a red ZX  Richard :)
  22. There are still some UK spec cars out there that have had very few owners, come with a full history; all old MOTs and receipts to back up the mileage........... .......Clint Thrust's car has around 41k miles IIRC  Mine is on a genuine 91k........but it's not for sale  Richard :)
  23. I spotted a red UK spec H reg car parked outside a house in Piper's Pool on the A395 between Camelford and the A30 this morning around 11am. Anyone here.......? Richard
  24. Congratulations to you both  Richard :duffer:
