  1. It sure is a great feeling; and a real testament to how "right" Nissan got this car so long ago...... ........I doubt many people are so complimentary about the Mk4 Soop for instance!! I still remember that mini-bus load of student girls waving when we were taking your Z for a test drive...... Richard
  2. LOL - I know Si...... I have seen a shonky old white Citroen with the "bonnet tape" today. I don't even remember if it had wing mirrors though...... Richard:clown:
  3. Nice pics Damo - that's a fine ZX you have there; and even better in the flesh!! I hope you get back on your feet soon mate; then you can get out and about in the Z again. ATB Richard:cool3:
  4. Mini hippo returns guys...... .....I hope you have a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  5. Yup - happy St George's Day all....... I know Si..... ......still you could get some red tape and stick it in a cross formation on the bonnet of your ZX......:tt2: Richard:donatello:
  6. Looking good there Isaac..... .....and that's a fantastic job you have done with the rear lights!! Richard:cool3:
  7. That's what I thought...... .....besides isn't manual transmission oil too thick to pass through the pipes and fins of a 'cooler quickly? Richard:1eye:
  8. LOL those were the days...... .....and our ages are definitely showing there mate!! Richard:biggrin:
  9. No worries mate! I know what you mean about watching the guages....... Looks like everything is OK then - good luck with the sale/purchase gents!! Richard:thumbup1:
  10. If you don't know what's in there already then just top it up with something like Castrol Magnatec 10w40 as you have an NA....... .....for a TT then I'd buy a litre of any decent fully synthetic 5w40. Modern oils, both semi and fully synthetic, will mix with whatever is in the sump already. Providing it is within the recommended viscocity limits in the hand-book! Richard:cool2:
  11. LOL - definitely!! Richard:clown:
  12. Hi Mike..... ....on full boost the stock UK guage should sit about 3/4 between the middle and the far right. Middle = 0 and far right = 14psi; half way between middle and max is 7psi (safety boost) so it should hit the next marker along..... .....that's stock. On a cold morning; or with minor mods like air filter and exhaust, you should see it on (or slightly above) the 10psi. Richard:cool2:
  13. I voted yes..... .....but it does look better without! The rear 'screen is too large and too steeply angled; so the rain just obscures your rear vision. Not that may people will be keeping up with you..... ....And when I'm in my daily drive, which doesn't have a "bidet," I find myself missing the facility. Still, I guess there's always Rain-X... Richard:blushing:
  14. LOL....... ......or Bjork!!! Richard:lol:
  15. LOL - personal preference really. IMO that's nonsense mate - on a hot summers day it can be too humid in this country so a/c is a necessity!! I would never buy a car without it - it's just so much more comfortable to have a/c. Even in my daily drive with the roof down, it gets too hot once the ambient temp gets above 26 degrees; at speeds below 40mph. Then at much higher speeds, it's just too noisy or uncomfortable. Much nicer with the roof up and a/c set at 20....... Richard:tt2:
  16. That sounds very expensive mate!! JeffTT can organize a re-gas with the R12 replacement for about £80 IIRC....... ........and there are plenty of other mobile car a/c specialists that will od it for a similar price. Even down here in the expensive Home Counties; so I'm sure someone up north would be cheaper!! Listen to this man - he has also done a good write-up on the process here at one time...... ......search is your friend! Richard:sorcerer:
  17. I have a useful wheel cleaning tip I stole from DamoJ...... .........After washing the wheels, treat them with Rain-X. I have found all wheel waxes to be rubbish; the brake dust and crap just sticks to the wax and becomes waxy dirt!! But Rain-X really does help the wheels stay cleaner for longer!! Top tip Damo - Thanks mate. Richard:thumbup1:
  18. I agree there mate!! And lets be honest, are really likely to have been flat out in second; bouncing off the rev limiter? Doubt it....... If the officer has no hard evidence (video/camera etc) then say you'll challenge it in court. If they can't prove you were speeding they will just back down before it gets that far! Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Nice one Si..... I took mine out for a drive this morning too; a nice ride in the sun with the targas off...... Loved it!! Richard:punk:
  20. And you haven't changed a bit Si...........:tt2: Shame I cannot make the 25th (Julia's friend's birthday celebration) otherwise I'd have beenn there.:crying: Only an hour's drive for me..... Richard:oops:
  21. Any pics to demonstrate - I'll try and put one up tomorrow if it helps you mate! Richard
  22. Sounds nice Allan...... Richard:thumbup1:
  23. 6 x 4? I assume you mean the rears as that's the standard size...... ......I have JBL 6 x 4 speakers in the rear of my ZX and they went straight in. I pulled off the mesh trim, unscrewed the old ones, re-connected the wires and screwed in the new ones using the same screws. 15 minutes and job done! I did exactly the same on my old red ZX as well....... Richard:yes:
  24. Looking good there Alan..... .....Better than before if you don't mind me saying!! I'm pleased it's all coming together for you mate - and it's definitely another example the the club spirit shining through. "Nice one" to all those who have helped Alan get his car back on track!! Richard:cool3:
  25. You mean it's in the open forums. B*gger!!!..........:1eye: Flipping 'eck - I feel an abuse of power coming on......:whistling: Richard:death:
