  1. Yup - I have to agree there..... ....and not just because I may be a little biased!! It really is - the club spirit remains strong.... .....I'm pleased it came good for jmwuk too! Richard:clap:
  2. Pornstar.....? I cannot believe no-one has said that yet!! I'd like to be a classic car dealer/broker. Sourcing fine examples of old JAgs, Astons, Ferarris etc for wealthy individuals or private collectors. Richard:sorcerer:
  3. Nice one matey!! It sure is good when an old motor flies through. Then again, I kind of expect it with the ZX. Like most cared-for classics it should be fine. Ahem........:sweatdrop: Richard:blushing:
  4. Me too!!!! When Julia decides to contribute towards the mortgage, bills, food etc etc then she can tell me what to do in MY house..... .......this is in the subbed section, right....... Richard:euro:
  5. Stick with the Nissan theme I reckon. If you're going down the Beemer/Vauxhall/old Ford route; there are plenty of engines that would be better transplanted into those cars. BMW has its superb V8; Vauxhall has the 3.0v6 and the 16v turbo; Ford its own (old shite)v6; but of course they have the Cossies (both Scorpio v6 and 4 pot turbo)..... But then I'd probably go Rover v8 into a classic Ford.... So, yes, I know Baz has a VG30deTT to make use of; so another Nissan all the way - keep with the heritage! Otherwise how about a kit car - I reckon a ZX-TT powered Westfield would be awesome...... Richard:cool2:
  6. I thought it was the MX5..... .....live and leard I guess!! Richard:cool3:
  7. Looking good Martin......:tt1: Richard:cool3:
  8. I'd go down the Z31 route first - it'd be less work.......... ........failing that I like these suggestions!! Richard:cool3:
  9. Bloody big girls blouses.........:tt2:
  10. Exactly - targetting one brand will have no effect whatsoever. And then to a lesser extent there is the "loyalty card" system - you know; Shell pluspoints, BP and Nectar etc etc. If you are going to spend £80+ on a tank of fuel (as I did on Friday) you want to get something back for your money; no matter how small it might be!! Both spot on! The Conservatives have mentioned a sliding scale of duty; when oil prices force up the price of fuel they will reduce the tax. And when oil prices slide again, the tax increases. OK the increase part is still bad; but at least it offers consistency in the price we all pay at the pumps. LOL so true! Noticed how Evian spelt backwards reads naive.....? No? well I guess if anyone hasn't noticed they are probably shelling out £1.50 for a litre of clear stuff that falls out of the sky regularly in this country........ Richard:huh:
  11. LOL new or nearly new for £22k and she mentions a Porsche Cayenne!!! You'll be lucky mate:tt2: Actually Juila has mentioned her interest in the same car but she's too small to drive one....... The new Land Rover Freelander 2 is a nice motor though - I'd be happy buying one of those...... To echo Legrath why? If you want a nearly new £22k car that is fairly sporty and holds its value, then an Audi, BMW Merc or VW is exactly where the smart money is........:turned: Richard:chef:
  12. Anything German and diesel powered fits that bill Martin.... .....Audi A3 or Golf GT TDi perhaps? The Golf comes with the 170bhp engine and that's not a bad motor! Or BMW 1-series.......? Richard:yes:
  13. Wise words mate - and not just for a 300zx; but for any kind of performance car! Richard
  14. DON'T bother with Avons - they're rubbish!! Despite the price, Avon tyres cannot keep a ZX on the road!!! A lot of people on here swear by Falken FK452s; so I guess there's a lot to be said for that. On (both of) my ZXs I have had Avon ZZ3s (absolute rubbish); Goodyear GSD3s (excellent tyres; but didn't last 5 minutes); Dunlop SP9000 Sports (again; excellent tyres and good value); and now on my latest ZX I have the new Goodyear F1 Asymetrics. And I have to say they are superb!!! I use this place - they will come to your home or office.... http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ I have 225/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear; all four cost me £578 fully fitted; valve and balance etc! I cannot recommend the tyres or the fitters enough! Richard:chef:
  15. Bloody hell - rip off!!! Especially in Sunderland too - that's like Southern prices.....LOL Richard:boat:
  16. Sorry to hear that Daz..... .....that sort of thing really gets me mad too. I hope you get it sorted mate. Richard:angry:
  17. Yes, true 99-spec lights have the chrome inserts in all the lenses. I got mine brand new on E-bay from a seller called nissan_motor_parts The guy's name is Mark and he sells them for £315 posted; for the whole set of 3. Richard:thumbup1:
  18. LOL - yep! And I haven't been lazy and ignoring it either!!! I guess spring starts earlier in the south west....... ....well, there were daffodils sprouting through when we were in Cornwall back in January:huh: Richard:thumbup1:
  19. So, after a nice sunny Saturday involving a drive in the Z; giving the grass its first mow of the year and relaxing in the sun with the newspaper.... .....Julia and I decided to try out the new Thai restaurant that has only just opened in the village. And it was excellent!! We had a great meal; including "mixed starters" followed by (BIG) tiger prawns in tamarind; duck curry and steamed sea bass with lemon and chilli, and some jasmine rice; followed by coconut ice cream and jasmine tea.... ......oh; all washed down with a couple of Singha beers, a bottle of wine and one or two sambuccas; I'm feeling quite mellow and content. All is well in the world - but I'd say the alcohol has more than a little influence on it!!! Have a good weekend all! Richard:cool:
  20. Nice work Martin..... .....I thought I'd give my lawn the first cut of the year today. And afterwards I thought about having it dug up and replaced with gravel or astro-turf!! Richard:blushing:
  21. Nice going Jimmy..... Richard:batman:
  22. Good point Rob - I feel the same way about the 300zx.........:blushing:
  23. This seems a common problem! It happened to my red ZX last year; and only last month I had to get a new fuel tank for my blue Z. Luckily JeffTT came to the rescue and did the whole "supply and fit" for £120 plus VAT. (Thanks Jeff!!) Can't say fairer than that!! Richard:batman:
  24. It's a long time since I looked TBH - I guess the Diablo has gone up in price in the last few years...... ......I remember seeing a nice one in a classic car garage not to far from me for around £40k; at least 5 years ago.... Lovely car it was. Shiney "penis purple" with a "*666 LAM" numberplate:wub: As much as I like the Gallardo etc, I've a soft spot for the Diablo!! Richard:yes:
  25. That's not a bad looking conversion! But surely you must be able to buy a real Diablo for not much more than that now....... Richard:cool2:
