Daily Driver or Weekend toy ?
Mine's a weekend/holiday toy..... .....nothing to do with fuel consumption/running costs as my daily drive is 3.5 litres and 308bhp. It's more to do with decent low mileage ZXs getting rarer nowadays; so I'd like to keep mine that way. I just don't want to kill/waste it on the daily commute. But I'm happy to take it on hols and clock up a thousand miles or so each time.... Richard:sorcerer:

Out of hibernation (briefly!)
Interesting thoughts Leo...... .....I can't say I agree with you but perhaps in Phil's pictures it has more to do with the rear spoilers than the lights. I really like the 99-spec rear spoiler but IMO the original one is just a bit nicer. So check out each type of rear lights on 2 cars with the original 89 spec spoiler and then decide..... Would you allow your son to do this....?

Would you allow your son to do this....?
I can relate to the emboldened bit - but there are no tits on page 3 of the Mail Jane.... And on the subject of "modern Britain" surely we have degenerated much further than topless women posing in an excuse for a newspaper. Wasn't it around 40-odd years ago the Sun first rolled out page 3...? I think that far worse things have become acceptable in "modern Britain" than that. And lets also remember that (comics like the Sun et al aside) newspapers will always give a biased view depending on their political leanings. So berating the Daily Mail if you are, say, a Guardian reader is nothing more than a personal opinion and not fact. Just as it would be the other way round! Richard:flowers:

piers and prescott
No - I didn't know it was on..... .....but it's funny that I always hated Prescott when he was in government. He had some real hair-brained ideas (like the M4 bus lane and a Tesco store in Gerrards Cross - a local issue when I lived there) and he wasn't adverse to the odd public "brawl." But now he has all but retired, I have actually warmed to him a little and can appreciate his bluff sense of humour and apparent no nonsense attitude. I still don't agree with his politics though but that's my personal opinion and I'll keep that to myself! Richard:chef:

Sorry, but even in these modern times of gender indiscrimination, this is just wrong..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1385492/Chris-Whitehead-wears-skirt-school-protest-uniform-rule.html Firstly let's not forget that the school has rules; so if his parents don't like the rules then send him to another school. FFS, don't endorse his protest by encouraging him to stand up for some misguided "rights" - he's a child and should do as he is told..... ...that's why some kids are out of control - because their every whim is indulged hence they lack dicipline. Secondly; what parent in their right mind would allow photos of their 12 year old boy to parade around in a skirt, posing coquettishly, hands on hips, in the national press??? That's really going to do him good in the future isn't is...?? Or am I just an old dinosaur who should be extinct in modern Britain - I don't have kids so what do I know....?? What do you all reckon? Richard:confused1:
