RichardS Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 No - I didn't know it was on..... .....but it's funny that I always hated Prescott when he was in government. He had some real hair-brained ideas (like the M4 bus lane and a Tesco store in Gerrards Cross - a local issue when I lived there) and he wasn't adverse to the odd public "brawl." But now he has all but retired, I have actually warmed to him a little and can appreciate his bluff sense of humour and apparent no nonsense attitude. I still don't agree with his politics though but that's my personal opinion and I'll keep that to myself! Richard:chef: Quote I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

vodkashots Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 people in government should be on minimum wage, so they can relate to the people better, sitting in office and earning over 100k a year, plus benefits, plus house, plus holidays, plus......(add anything else they get free) and then sitting there telling everyone how they should be doing this, and that the GDP is skinning the country, just feels like a slap in the face with a slipper with shit on it. I think they all should take a year to live on minimum wage on a council estate before being allowed to run for prime minister, so they know how the lower classes live, then another year on minimum wage doing a 9 to 5 job. maybe it would put things into perspective for them of how most of the country "survive" in the UK Quote
