Yup - as Simon says, they were never actually coloured...... Back in the 1990s most car's brakes were simply "metal" coloured as per their construction!

Today, I replaced the little rubber bump stops inside the boot lid - I bought some brand new ones form Luke, along with my lights last month.... ? It has made a real difference, the boot hatch no longer squeaks or rattles over the piss-poor roads here in Bucks!!

Put the dates in your diary now Tom - I know I have....... And I have booked my hotel for the Saturday night already ?

After another successful display at the NEC Classic Motor Show, I would like to thank Mike (aka mike tromans) and Rob (aka Howl) for stepping up with their fine Zeds (white and black, respectively), and for their time and commitment in manning our club stand over the weekend. I would also like to thank our club chairman, El Presidente, Craig, for giving up his day off work to man the stand on Friday... Thank you so much guys, you did yourselves and the club proud - and your cars looked great on our display. It was also great to meet Mike and Rob for the first time; and for me personally, to make two new friends who share the same enthusiasm for these cars. Great stuff guys - and with a couple more pics from my phone, before I spam the forum with the ones on my camera, here's to next year!!

We are now set up.... ? We've gone back to basics this year - no flash stand, just the cars...... Hope to see a few of you visiting us again - and if anyone would like to man the stand for a few hours on either day, to relieve Mike, Rob and me (mostly Mike, for Fri and Sat) then please do drop me a PM ?

I have a UK car mate, so no front fogs in the first instance...... ? But for DRLs, I bought a kit from Ebay a few years ago, which wires directly to the battery. It only illuminates the DRLs when the engine is running, then has a relay to extinguish them when the side/head light are switched on. Buy the kit, wire it in as per the instructions, then cut the OEM fog light wire and connect the final live feed from the relay to the fog light live. Job done! You may wish to replace the bulbs too - as LED H3s work better as DRLs than the existing halogens in the fog lights!

Hi folks, Back to the top with, as the show is this coming weekend....! We have 2 confirmed cars (Mike and Rob) and one possible (Raj - who, like Rob cannot remain there all weekend). I will also drive to the NEC in my Zed for set-up on Thursday, so we have a back-up car - and I will happily leave it on the stand if we need another. But if anyone else would like the chance to exhibit, please do let me know. I'm also looking for one or two volunteers to help man the stand for a few hours on Fri and Sat, to provide support for Mike. Thread here in the private section.... ? New front lights....... ?

I recently purchased some brand-new J-spec fog lights from Luke, as I've never been 100% happy with the UK-spec side light/indicator split. And yesterday I fitted them.... Although not for use as fog lights! I installed some H3 LED bulbs and rewired them for use as daytime running lights. I also replaced the side light bulbs with some bright-ish LEDs. I then rewired my corner lights (which were the DRLs) to become the indicators. I think they make the front end look much nicer - a real improvement over the original look. Especially now that the whole lenses light up in either DRL or side-light mode.

Flippin 'eck - it's nowhere near cold enough yet!!!! Your council must want to waste money, in order to secure next year's funding.... ? Mind you, 2 degrees tonight - we don't have it that low here yet... I believe Chiltern grits the roads when the temperature is expected to remain at 3 degrees or less for a sustained period.

Today, I washed my Zed after it got rather dirty during this weekend's Eastbourne "meet up and drive"..... ? ....It's now back in the garage, just in time for this evening's forecasted rain ?

....You are absolutely right there Steve - no use at all, even on modern cars. Julia's Evoque has them, and all they do is make a mess - the fluid just runs up along the bonnet creating streaks ?

I haven't personally had this issue mate - but I'd suggest dropping Jimmer a line..... What he doesn't know about these cars isn't worth knowing ?
