  1. Excellent news matey!! Richard:thumbup1:
  2. Never heard of those tyres myself - but that sounds like your problem! When I bought my first ZX it was shod with brand new Avons and they were awful..... .....I actually wondered if I had made a mistake buying the car. But a set of Goodyears later and the car was transformed!! Richard:sorcerer:
  3. Great idea Gary - and it seems great minds think alike re the number plates!!! Richard:rockon:
  4. Wow - glad you are OK mate!! And good thing indeed you were in the Rangie; if anything can withstand a hit from a runaway bus, it's the good old Range Rover.... Richard:oops:
  5. Ooooh indeed - some nice additions there Nick; I bet you can't wait to get it all fitted.... LOL - very observant mate!! Richard:cool2:
  6. I'd say it's down to the tyres if grip is so bad. Sure the standard wheels will be more comfortable as the higher profile tyres will be more forgiving on poor roads; but the 18s will give a more sporty ride and less roll. But a crappy brand of tyres will make a 300zx ride and handle like, well, crap! Top quality tyres, in either standard or upgraded sizes, will ensure that the car drives and feels much more stable. Richard:shuriken:
  7. That is good news Del - it's always nice to hear of a ZX being saved instead of written off!! Richard:yes:
  8. Happy birthday Dave - wherever you may be now matey!! Richard:punk:
  9. Welcome to the club Tony.... .....as said, the Zclub is hosting a big stand at Japfest, but I do believe that stand tickets have now sold out. Check out this thread for all the info you need...... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?158442-Japfest-2012-May Richard:chef:
  10. Brilliant - the best laugh I have had all month!!! Have some rep for that mate...... Richard:clown:
  11. Oooh!! I might just have to pay my folks a visit this weekend......:shifty:
  12. Me too - I managed to keep from laughing..... ....although I did crack a wry smile at the big dog's face when he was looking at the plate of cakes!! Richard:surrender:
  13. Hi Chris, thanks for bearing with Lee whilst he transferred the forum hosting. It wasn't just you mate, a few of us (me included) had an issue or two. Luckily we have Lee on the case and the inconvenience was only short lived. But just like when we upgraded the forum to the latest version of Vbuletin, there still might be a gremlin or two lurking around..... ......But in the end it will all be fine - all this work is being done for the benefit of each and every one of our members in order to provide a better forum for us all. I hate to think of the number of hours Lee is putting into this, for nothing but a passing "thank you" and his dedication to the club, but boy am I (and the rest of the committee) grateful to have him on board!! Richard:sorcerer:
  14. I reckon my parents still have it in their loft!! Along with the Acorn Electron, BBC micro, Atari VCS etc......
  15. Many happy returns mate - have a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  16. I heard this on the wireless (thumbs up to those who remember this expression) this morning - hell I had one myself all those years back..... .....got mine in '83 though as I still had a ZX81 when the Spectrum was launched! Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Roger that Lee - back online now matey!!:winkiss:
  18. All good for me now...... Nice work Lee; and sorry to interrupt your progress mate!! Glad you are on the case though - and thanks Vods for the chat mate (oh and happy birthday Ian!) Richard:winkiss:
  19. As title - this is easily missed by us English..... .....so raise your swords and slay that dragon!! Happy St George's Day everyone!!!! Richard:thumbup1:
  20. Many happy returns mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  21. Happy birthday Ian - have a great day matey!! Richard:cool2:
  22. I decided I'd get some new number plates made up for my ZX....... ......and thought what a great opportunity it would be to subtly promote the club at the same time.....!! Richard:winkiss:
  23. Speak to Mike at MJP mate - he is the best source for Nissan OEM items....!! Also he does import stuff from the USA every few weeks (like my Stillen lip for instance); you might have to wait until his next order comes across but it will be cheaper than anywhere else. Plus Mike is 100% reliable and a great guy to deal with. Richard:cool3:
  24. Many happy returns mate - have a great day!! Richard:punk:
  25. Yup - the pressure sender switch always goes bad.... .....you can buy another OEM item from Mike at MJP - but it's around £90!! Richard:oops:
