FAO Madmarco and Zclub
Well said Gary - and a big thanks to Marco and Steve from me also. I am just sorry that I missed it due to the traffic!! I never dreamed I'd be stuck on the outskirts of the venue for nearly 2 hours when I arrived at Castle Combe before 9 - still, like Rose suggests, lesson learned and I now know for next time!!! Who actually made it to Japfest.....?
Cheers Gaz - thing is, the M4 was clear as anything so I made realy good time down to J17. I just could not believe that the whole of Castle Combe/Chippenham seemd to be gridlocked with show traffic before 9am, when there weren't that many Jap cars in the jam with me!!! And the few that were all turned round and looked like they'd had enough too...... .....and whilst I could have sat there another hour maybe (especially after driving 90-odd miles to get there), I didn't want to do it all again at home time!! Next time, I'll aim to get there at 7. Or just not bother......:surrender: Richard:tongue_smilie:

Relay disintegrated what is it?
Interesting...... ....maybe mine has too; hence the headlight washers don't make any attempt to work when I press the button! Richard:thumbup1:

how many on here have 4x4's ???
Yes - but not a big proper off-roader like you guys..... ......just a wee soft roader - we have a 2006 Rav-4 XTR (which Julia uses daily); it's the last of the Mk2 shape, 3 door and stacked with extras like leather etc. Its size suits her and, whilst great in the snow and ice each year, it drives just like a car. In fact I admit to quite liking driving it too....:clown: Richard:thumbup1:

Who actually made it to Japfest.....?
I guess so mate - but I thought getting there for 8.30-9.00 would be fine; which is just how I timed it!! Thing is, after queueing for an hour, BBC Wilts said that the A350 and A420 were slow due to Japfest traffic - yet most of the cars in the queue were clearly not Japfest traffic!! What time did you arrive there?

Flippin 'eck Allan!! At least you have your money and proof that you had sold the car..... .....still, a sad waste of a nice M3 though!! Richard:blink:

Who actually made it to Japfest.....?
Not me it seems as I gave up trying.....:surrender: .......I made good time down to Castle Combe; arriving in the vicinity about 8.50 this morning. Then I spent nearly 2 hours just sitting in traffic as the whole area was completely gridlocked - from the end of the dual carriageway on the A350, past the little service area with the Esso garage and beyond. I made it about half way between that services roundabout to the next one; and by 10.40 I had made no more progress. There were a few Japanese cars in the queue - not many though - I was behind a blue Scooby with a great reg (W666WRX) and in front of a nice white 370z. So me, the 370z and a white Mk4 Supra behind that, had had enough and turned round. I did try a couple of alternative routes via some small lanes and through the village - but still gridlock. So I turned tail, headed back to the M4 and nailed it home in a very pissed off mood......:cursing: I hope all those who eventually made it had a great day and look forward to the pics. Me, I guess my patience does not extend to sitting in traffic for 2 hours!!! Mental note - next year get there at 7am...... Richard:blink:

350Z or S2000?
Dave, like you it would not be a daily driver, so I'd buy another 300zx and keep the change..... ......or, if it wasn't a dog for that price, a Porsche 928 s4; a thumping 5 litre V8, 320-ish BHP, fast and great road presence!! Richard:thumbup1: PS I'm now allowed to go "off topic" as Daffy asked "what would you get for 5/6K"

Who's going to Japfest?
Thanks for the tip Marco - I might try and get there a bit earlier then!!

dont you just hate
Hah hah, Alan, I forgot about Olly bloody Murrs mate - my local radio station plays his entire catalogue every day as well....... I bet our respective stations have the same playlists, many of these local radio stations are owned by the same bigger company anyway!!! Sad thing is, I bought a DAB radio for the office so I could listen to Absolute or Planet Rock, but because of the metal framed building I work in (probably) the reception is crap and "Aylesbury's Mix96" is all I can get on it:surrender: Richard:tongue_smilie:

Who's going to Japfest?
Me too.....!! I was planning on leaving before 8 - if it opens at 9, I figure if the M4 is quiet then I should be there around 9.15 ish.....:shifty: I look forward to seeing you all there, in the sunshine!!! Richard:rockon:

350Z or S2000?
LOL - Car Mad wins...... .....the grand car forum "suggest something else" prize!!! Guaranteed, when someone on a car forum asks what [we] would prefer out of car A or car B, it's not long before someone else says "Neither, what about car C???" Love it.....:tt2: I would probably not buy a 350z or an S2000 either - but to answer the original question..... ......Of the two, I would prefer the 350z. The S2000 is a very good and capable car; and if you want a fast(ish) reliable open top sports car, go for it. The 350z (and I presume you're looking at the coupe, not the 'vert) is a faster and more muscular GT car but with decent handling and plenty of power; if you go for the later versions with over 300bhp. Word of warning though - with the 350z, make sure you go for a pre March 2006 model otherwise be prepared to fork out well over £400 for the road tax each year!! I say the 350z not just because I prefer it of the two; but you came out of a 300zx which you liked, into an MR2 which "isn't doing it for you." For me the s2000 is as comparable to your MR2, as the 350z is to your 300zx..... Just a thought mate!! Richard:thumbup1:

dont you just hate
I only hate it when I actually hate the song...... ......and generally when there is a song stuck in my head that I cannot get rid of, it is because I do hate the song!!! My most hated songs of the moment are: "We Are Young" by some pathetic sounding act called Fun (who make The Script look....not quite so dull and pathetic)!!! That woeful cover version of Heart's "Alone" - and I'm hoping that YOU know that!!! Anything by Jessie f*****g J....... But especially Domino. And why oh why does my local radio station (unfortunately the only signal I can pick up from inside my office; even with DAB) play each of these songs at least 3 times a piece during work hours????? Does my bleeding head in!!! Richard:cursing::surrender:

Supercar Sunday 2012
What bloody nonsence..... ....the Jubilee is the beginning June and the Olympics don't start until late July. Both are miles away from this event so it would have had no effect whatsoever:blink: Richard:asshole:

Idiot YODEL driver.
Some people just cannot do their jobs properly nowadays mate...... ......yet there are supposedly 2 million people queueing up for jobs, some of whom would do a good job in whatever they did; but sadly it's the numb-nuts that occupy these positions at present!! Richard:no:
