  1. Because the wastegates will operate based on the combined pressure in the whole system; and not just per turbo. Each turbo operates just one bank of cylinders remember - so you have one turbo generating 9psi as if running 2 separate engines; the balance bar will even out slight differences to ensure smooth power delivery.
  2. Great to see the club spirit alive and strong - nice one Craig!! Richard:thumbup1:
  3. Positive mate - 9psi stock combined boost pressure and 7psi on safety boost. You may see slightly higher pressures on the gauge - as said the gauge may not be so accurate after 20 years. Also low ambient temperatures can raise boost pressure slightly; along with light mods like an aftermarket air filter and exhaust. The improved breathing "might" have a small positive effect.
  4. No - 7psi is not stock "per turbo" the combined boost pressure in the system of 9-ish psi.
  5. No mate!! We actually mean 14psi combined!!! Stock boost for both manual and auto is only 9psi combined; there is a balance bar to even out pressure between the turbos and 9psi is standard boost in the whole system. Yes, the gauge does go up to 14psi (on both manual and auto cars) but unless the car has been modded (or the gauge is not accurate - and after 20 years the consensus is that it's probably not), you will rarely see the needle above 10psi. 6. Yup, they will be mate - as steams said only the UK/USA spec twin turbo cars had wider rears and they were 8.5 wide.... .....welcome to our club by the way Adam! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. Happy birthday Tony!! Richard:thumbup1:

  16. Indeed she has - and in my opinion Her Majesty is a major reason that we should all be proud to be British!! I would dearly love to see Queen Elizabeth beat Victoria's record breaking reign; and since HM is in rude health, it's looking like she might just do it!! Long live The Queen!! Congratulations Your Majesty..... Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Happy birthday buddy!! Richard:thumbup1:
  18. Many happy returns mate! Richard:thumbup1:

  21. And matching Minis to boot mate...... ......of course you have to wash them too Gaz; you do such a fantastic job!! I insist on doing our cars as well - just because I don't trust anyone else to do it properly or not scratch the paintwork....:shifty: Richard:laugh:
  22. Anyone see this on the news today..... http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16238972 I only paid it attention because that's where I always stay when I visit Cornwall..... But good on the fishermen for not killing it just to secure the record! Richard:thumbup1:
  23. Great pic mate - I remember when I passed my test too; and I felt as happy as your daughter looks!! My parents never stopped worrying either; when I lived at home (right into my mid-20s) they still only felt at ease once they heard me close the garage door when I was safely home each night!! Richard:thumbup1:
  24. Possibly...... I believe it was (and maybe still is for all I know) illegal in Japan to run a road car on 45-profile tyres..... So the J-spec twin turbo ran on the same wheels front and rear so they could have 225/50 tyres all round! Whereas in Europe (where speeds are generally faster) and the USA (where people drive greater mileages) they could do the normal sports GT thing like Porsche and fit wider rear tyres. But in doing so they had to maintain the same rolling radius - hence 245/45 tyres (illegal in Japan) would be fitted. I read that somewhere ages ago; so it could just be an urban myth..... then again I might be right!! Richard:tongue_smilie:
  25. I knew Allan would put this up - and why not?? I think that looks dead good actually mate...... ......I have never mustered up the courage to get even a small one done. Hell, it took me ages to finally go for a "number one" when I started losing more and more of my hair.... Richard:surrender:
