Blue Kitted ZX on the M4 Sunday......
Yeah - there were a few pockets of lane hoggers holding up faster moving traffic......:shifty: ....it was much better driving down to Bath early in the morning; M4 was dead past Reading. At least you still got a couple of chances to exercise those tubbies a bit.. Richard:thumbup1:

top speed of 300zx n/a 1992
Speedo tollerances will vary a lot from car to car; with many being pretty accurate up to about 60mph and then over-reading by an increasing margin thereafter. My ZX for instance (since I fitted the 18 inch wheels with 265/35/18 tyres) is almost bang on to my sat nav. Up to 70 on the speedo, it is identical to the GPS, at 100 on the speedo, the GPS is reading 97, they move back in line at 110mph and don't start separating again until after 120mph. Although I have not seen the variance at more than 5-7mph - all tested on a track and certainly not on the public roads!! Julia's Rav-4 is pretty accurate until over 60mph and then the speedo starts to over-read so that by true 80mph (per GPS) the speedo reads 87!! My previous (black) SLK350 was bang on at up to about 80, and then the speedo would start to over-read by 3mph. Never anymore than that though - even at 120mph+ on the autobahn, it was still 3mph out. I haven't used the GPS in my silver SLK though - it has Command - but I have no reason to doubt it would be much different from the old one. Richard:balloon:

I don't necessarily believe that - I don't think he passed the lorry quick enough to actualy be travelling at near 186mph!!

Blue Kitted ZX on the M4 Sunday......
Maybe he was a little bit..... But then I wasn't exactly hanging around when the road cleared in front of me!! Good to see another ZX on the road mate - except at meets, I hardly ever see another out and about, so it kinda made my afternoon!! Having seen your car, I understand why it can attract attention. I do tend to press on a bit and, apart from noticing your car (and giving a wave), I was paying attention to the road, oh and looking out for dubious white vans on bridges through Wilts.... Hope the new turbos serve you well, Richard:thumbup1:

Blue Kitted ZX on the M4 Sunday......
As title - I saw a blue zx (an unusual blue) with a white roof and big rear spoiler on the M4 heading east on Sunday afternoon about 2.30-ish.... ......between Chippenham and Hungerford at various intervals - I passed you in Wiltshire in my own ZX and only caught the occasional glimpse of you thereafter (mainly in my rear view mirror.....) I think it was a J-plate import with the letters "JWT" on the numberplate; anyone here? Richard:thumbup1:

top speed of 300zx n/a 1992
Limited to 112mph like all J-spec cars mate..... .....but unrestricted I believe it's 140-146mph depending on whether an auto or manual. Richard:thumbup1:

Good grief - how do you guys do it!
My thoughts too..... ....hell these cars were designed for tiny pigmy hands if you ask me!!! I am not one for working on my car anymore; but I will sometimes have a stab at minor jobs if I think I can do it. And luckily I heal quickly as each time I have scratched my hands to buggery - and I hate that as I have OCD and do not like my hands to appear in any way scuffed/scratched/grazed/like I have used them for "proper work" etc etc.... Richard:tongue_smilie:

Chrome standered wheels
I like the standard wheels - but do wish they were a bit bigger...... .....but the chrome does look good on a black car. I think Phil82 has them on his ZX and that looks good.... Richard:thumbup1:

OK thats it actually getting sick of this now.
Sorry to hear of your latest woes Ian - and I hope you get them sorted (which, being the capable chap you are, you surely will matey!).... .....And I have to agree with you on the ZX reliability issue; essentially they are reliable cars - for what they are - it's a Nissan after all. I have been fortunate with both of my ZXs and still do not have the slightest worry in taking my ZX on a long trip. Sure it's not my daily driver anymore, but I have still covered 1500+ miles in a week on the odd holiday jaunt and the car was nothing short of superb..... Hang in there matey; I reckon you've come too far to quit now!! Richard:thumbup1:

I wish this sunny weather would go away.....
I popped out to Sainsburys this morning in the SLK (don't panic, the ZX is coming out tomorrow BTW); I drove into the car park with the roof down and, as I was getting out, the lady who had parked next to me in a Peugeot said "I wish my top came off in this weather...." For once I was lost for words.....LOL Richard:rockon:

how to mod the ac fan to a cooling fan?
I agree also. I replaced my viscous coupling last weekend and the difference was noticeable....... .......I haven't used the car since, but tomorrow I'll take it for a 200 mile round trip. With this hot weather, it should be easy to see if my efforts were worth it... Richard:thumbup1:
